2016 gave us a taste once again how harsh western South Dakota can be with limited rainfall and when it did come it may have been frozen. We were however blessed with a beautiful fall but winter really decided to set in on Christmas day and the hay piles are disappearing fast.

We take this into consideration when making our breeding decisions. Understanding that cattle in this part of the world are expected to cover big country and feed stuffs are more limited to forage than grain and silage where they are more readily available in other parts.

Because of this, we strive to produce cattle that are functional and efficient so that they may better handle the severe, diverse conditions they will be exposed to. We feel this set of bulls displays that better than ever before.

FIRST BREEDING SEASON GUARANTEE All bulls will be covered 50% by Schauer Angus Ranch if they are injured during their first breeding season. Breeding season is defined as the 60-day period following the first turnout of the bulls.

50% of the purchase price, minus half the salvage value, will be given as credit towards a replacement bull, if we have one available, or as credit at next year’s sale.

1. All injured bulls must be diagnosed by a licensed veterinarian.

2. We must be notified should injury occur and before bull is sold for salvage. A copy of the salvage receipt must be sent to us.

3. All claims must be made by September 1, 2017.
