EPDs & $Values: The American Angus Association is now calculating EPDs on a weekly basis using all available carcass harvest data, ultrasound data and the Igenity Angus specific genome profile data. So we are retaining 1/2 embryo interest in this female with her new owners. As you can see from her picture she is phenotypically correct and pleasing to the eye. Her sound feet and legs, easy fleshing, her beef cow maternal ability is contributed to her sire. OCC Linebred 661L whose proven strengths are large scrotals, easy fleshing, soundness, true calving ease, very useful sons and daughters. He goes back to the CH Dixie Erica 1019 cow 4 times and she lived to be 21 years old and is the mother, grandmother, and great grandmother of many proven AI sires. • Amdahl Emma 144-445 is a great young cow that would almost be a total out cross for most registered Angus operations. Her mother is the Lot 3 cow, Emma 144, a solid producer. Her sire Amdahl’s Emblazon 0005 was sold to Marty Lawrence Mobridge, SD in 2009. He called this summer to see if their was any more semen on this bull. The daughters of this bull have turned out so well he was hoping to AI and raise more. That’s what we have experienced here also and this is one of the good ones. • Amdahl’s All American is an amazing bull out of a super Pathfinder cow. He was sold in our 2014 bull sale. He was a standout with his EPDs for CED, BW, WW, SC, Doc, CEM, $W, $F and balanced in the rest. So we collected semen on him and used him a little here and there. When the calves came and matured we decided to go and buy him back and we’ve used him a lot this year. Consistent birth wt., growth, correctness, eye appeal, disposition, easy fleshing and good footed daughters will sell as bred heifers and open heifers.
