Life at sea, reimagined A M E R YA C H T S THE NEW-GENERATION BOATS BY AMER YACHTS COMBINE IMMERSIVE DESIGN, SEAMLESS LIVING SPACES AND LOW-IMPACT MATERIALS FOR A REFINED EXPERIENCE AT SEA.
For Amer Yachts, innovation is designed to enhance life on board, bringing owners closer to the sea through comfort, design and intelligent engineering. Developed with Studio Aoumm in Milan, the new projects—the AMER 9, AMER 10 and AMER 12—together with the AMER 42A by architect Antonio Luxardo, express a shared vision of contemporary yachting shaped by fluidity, light and openness. The AMER 9 reinterprets the shipyard’s proven 4.0 hull with refined proportions, expansive glazing and fluid circulation between decks. Designed for extended stays at anchor, it offers a natural continuity between interior and exterior spaces, while its beach club and dual helm stations encourage a slower, immersive cruising experience. A synthesis of the defining traits of the day cruiser and the explorer, the AMER 10 evolves the brand’s pioneering spirit through an architectural concept centred on year-round liveability. Generous terraces, interconnected decks and light-filled interiors create a continuous dialogue with the surrounding environment. Every space is designed to feel open, adaptable and seamlessly connected to the sea. A staircase links all levels: creating an ever-changing scenography of space and function. Extending this philosophy further, the AMER 12 is conceived in three versions, Classic, Charter and Luxury, combining privacy, efficiency and comfort through carefully designed owner, guest and crew circulation. Alongside these projects, the AMER 42A introduces an all-aluminium concept that reduces weight and improves efficiency. At 42 metres, the yacht balances engineering precision with a sporty, dynamic, low profile stance. The result of two years of research into design and materials, the latest Amer Yachts projects redefine life at sea—reinforcing a commitment to innovation and a more sustainable future for yachting. 3 questions for… Constance Brément C A N N E S YA C H T I N G F E S T I VA L What perspective do you hope to bring to the Festival? Having spent fifteen years experiencing the Festival from the exhibitor’s side with Beneteau, I have a clear understanding of what shipyards, brands and industry professionals are looking for. My ambition is not to reshape an event that will celebrate its 50th anniversary in 2027, but to support its continued growth by expanding its international influence, enhancing the services available and making every stage of the visitor journey ever more seamless. The Cannes Yachting Festival is a genuine source of inspiration. It should remain a showcase for innovation, emerging trends and new ways of enjoying life on the water, while continuing to bring together the entire marine industry. How would you define the art of living at sea? For me, it is a true way of life. A timeless interlude, an opportunity to step away from noise, obligations and the pace of everyday life. Some are drawn to performance, speed and personal challenge, while others simply cherish sharing precious moments with family and friends. Whatever the style of cruising, the emotions remain the same: a sense of freedom, escape and complete disconnection. Today, boats have become elegant and highly personalised retreats, conceived as genuine living spaces that extend the comfort, warmth and spirit of home out onto the water. Boating is constantly evolving. What changes do you see taking shape? sustainable, more intuitive and easier to access. Advances in alternative propulsion, recycled materials and artificial intelligence are already helping owners optimise energy use on board and enhance daily life afloat. THE BEST EXAMPLE Launched in 2024, the KISMET from the Lürssen german shipyard has
been designed to offer an experience akin to that of a floating luxury hotel.
The 122-metre superyacht features a dedicated ‘Nemo Cinema’ equipped with a 150-inch screen and an

massive video walls across two levels, an interactive dance floor and a DJ
booth, transforming certain areas into a veritable private club!
YACHTING
How yachts are redefining leisure THE WORLD OF YACHTING HAS EVOLVED FAR BEYOND COSY CABINS AND LUXURY FACILITIES. TODAY’S MOST SOPHISTICATED YACHTS ARE INCREASINGLY BEING DESIGNED WITH CINEMA ROOMS, VIDEO GAME LOUNGES AND OTHER IMMERSIVE ENTERTAINMENT.
T
Video gaming has also found its place on board. Dedicated gaming rooms are increasingly common, particularly on family-oriented yachts. These spaces are often equipped with the latest consoles, large screens, racing simulators and multiplayer setups. For younger guests, they offer a familiar and engaging environment. For adults, they provide an opportunity to enjoy friendly competitions during long crossings. Some yachts even organise gaming tournaments between guests, creating a unique social experience at sea. And virtual reality technology is another emerging trend. VR headsets allow guests to explore immersive digital worlds, participate in simulated sporting events or experience interactive adventures without leaving the yacht. This technology is particularly appealing when weather conditions limit outdoor activities, ensuring that entertainment remains available regardless of circumstances. Beyond cinemas and gaming areas, modern yachts are incorporating a wide range of leisure facilities like music studios, karaoke rooms, wellness lounges and even private nightclubs are becoming increasingly popular. On some superyachts, entire decks are dedicated to recreation, featuring bowling alleys, sports simulators or interactive entertainment zones.
hese days, private owners and charter guests are no longer looking solely for relaxation or 3 stars dining. They also expect a large variety of activities capable of entertaining family members and friends of all ages. As a result, the leading yacht designers are integrating cutting-edge technology and flexible leisure spaces into their projects from the earliest stages of development. Private cinemas have become one of the most sought-after features on large yachts, such as the AZZAM, one of the world’s largest private yachts, the new KISMET or the DILBAR, which features multimedia areas dedicated to cinema and digital entertainment. Equipped with high-definition projectors, surroundsound systems and luxurious reclining seats, these huge rooms provide a premium movie experience while cruising. Some units even feature acoustic insulation and professional-grade audiovisual equipment comparable to those found in commercial theaters. After a day spent swimming, diving or exploring coastal destinations, guests can enjoy a private screening of the latest blockbuster in complete comfort. Especially vessels exceeding 80 metres in length…

The floating fairway FOR A LONG TIME, GOLF AND YACHTING HAVE SHARED A NATURAL AFFINITY. BOTH EMBODY PRECISION, LEISURE AND A PASSION FOR DREAM DESTINATIONS. TODAY, MANY SUPERYACHTS FEATURE FACILITIES FOR PLAYING GOLF AT SEA, JUST AS THEY DO FOR OTHER SPORTS.
T
oday, modern superyachts are no longer simply floating luxury residences. They have evolved into highly personalised platforms designed around their owners’ passions including outdoor sports. For golf enthusiasts, this means enjoying the sport while cruising some of the most spectacular coastlines on earth. One of the most popular features aboard large yachts is the dedicated golf practice area. Custom-designed driving ranges allow guests to perfect their swing from the aft deck, often using biodegradable golf balls that dissolve harmlessly in seawater. Advanced launchmonitor technology and virtual simulators provide detailed performance analysis, enabling players to practice regardless of weather conditions or location, especially since it has been shown that many yacht owners are regular golfers and avid golf enthusiasts.

Several leading yacht builders and designers have integrated golf facilities directly into their concepts such as the famous Stargazer, classic 55m superyacht often nicknamed the “golf yacht”, built in 1964 but refitted in 2010. Its helipad doubles as a driving range, and the yacht

carries golf equipment as well as professional coaches on some cruises. More recently, the highly advanced Project KAI concept—a 50-metre yacht from the Turkish firm BAZ Yacht Design—features a private golf practice area on the owner’s deck. The same concept was applied to another modern yacht project called “Kaizen”, which featured a “sports deck” with a golf and fitness area. Even more outlandish is the Noahs Twin Carrier concept, designed by the Mitsi studio: a yacht inspired by an aircraft carrier, whose deck can be transformed into a three-hole golf course complete with bunkers and putting greens. and built for the marine environment, this system provides hours of fun for superyacht guests and crew alike. From seasoned golfers looking to hone their skills to beginners looking for exciting and engaging games, and to complete your superyacht golf experience, it also offers a range of luxury golf accessories: from premium biodegradable golf balls, fully customisable clubs, bags and gloves and golf mats that simulate a real grass tee. Of course, floating greens, nets, and biodegradable balls also allow you to practice without harming the marine environment.
Some explorer yachts also feature expansive open decks that can be transformed into temporary practice zones, while a number of custom-built vessels include indoor golf simulators equipped with world-renowned championship courses recreated in digital form. Guests can play a virtual round at Palm Beach, Florida in the morning and step ashore at a South Mediterranean marina in the afternoon. Off the Deck’s SeaDriveCX system transforms a deck, helipad, or aft platform into a high-tech golf simulator in just a few minutes. Designed and handcrafted in the United Kingdom by Formula 1 engineers, the all-carbon SeaDriveCX elevates golf onboard to levels never before thought possible. Ultra-lightweight, stunningly designed,
Technology continues to enhance the onboard golf experience. State-of-the-art simulators can replicate thousands of courses around the world with extraordinary accuracy, while data-driven coaching systems provide instant feedback on swing mechanics. These innovations ensure that golf addicts guests can maintain and improve their game even while crossing oceans!

O
ff-season cruising in the Mediterranean, the Caribbean, or even polar destinations offers a different kind of luxury: space, peace and quiet. With fewer vessels at sea, the entire rhythm of travel slows down. These conditions are ideal for wellness-oriented itineraries built around yoga on deck, breathwork sessions at sunrise, and long stretches of uninterrupted horizon gazing. Cruise ships like Silversea Silver Dawn, Ponant Le Commandant Charcot, Scenic Eclipse or Ritz-Carlton Evrima are emblematic of this evolution, offering refined environments where wellness programming is integrated into expedition-style travel. Whether navigating Nordic fjords or Mediterranean coastlines outside peak season, the emphasis is on restoration rather than stimulation. Onboard programs often include private yoga instructors, osteopathy sessions, infrared sauna therapy, and plant-forward menus curated by wellness chefs. Days are designed around natural circadian rhythms: energising practices in the morning light, restorative therapies in the afternoon, and digital disconnection in the evening.

Timeless by design E M I LY N E U G A R T E N BLENDING COMFORT, CRAFTSMANSHIP AND EMOTION, EMILY NEUGARTEN CREATES SERENE INTERIORS THAT FEEL AS ENDURING AS THEY ARE INVITING.
How would you define your style?
I would describe my style as timeless, warm and deeply personal. I am less interested in trends than in creating spaces that feel authentic and effortless to live in. Every project begins with listening: understanding my clients, their lifestyle and how they want to feel in their home. For this Mirabeau apartment, my objective was to create a peaceful retreat in the heart of Monaco. I wanted the interior to feel elegant without being ostentatious, refined yet welcoming. Natural materials, soft textures and carefully balanced proportions helped shape an atmosphere of calm and understated luxury. What inspired this project?
The apartment offered a wonderful opportunity to rethink the space entirely. We focused on bespoke joinery, integrated storage and layered lighting to maximise every square metre while preserving a sense of openness and fluidity. I believe true luxury lies in the details: the quality of the materials, the way light interacts with a space and the feeling of comfort it provides. Every element was carefully considered to create harmony throughout the apartment. What do you enjoy most about your profession?
What I love most is transforming ideas into places that people genuinely enjoy living in. Interior design is not only about aesthetics; it is about creating environments that enhance everyday life and reflect the personality of those who inhabit them. And the future?
I am fortunate to work on a variety of residential and hospitality projects in Monaco and internationally. Whatever the scale of the project, my ambition remains the same: to create timeless spaces that combine beauty, functionality and emotion.

Designing for everyday life ISABELLA & BENJAMIN BOISSON – ABBA ISABELLA AND BENJAMIN BOISSON WORK TO IMPROVE EVERYDAY LIFE THROUGH ARCHITECTURE. TO THEM, ARCHITECTURE HAS THE POWER TO TRANSFORM THE WAY WE LIVE.
What characterises your approach to architecture?
We are interested in architecture as a tool for imagining better futures. lt should respond to the way people live, work and move through space. Over the years, our practice, focused on high-end projects, now located on Rue Grimaldi, has grown into a team bringing together over fifteen architects, designers and construction managers. Our approach remains unchanged: beautiful and buildable projects where people genuinely feel well. Monaco is a unique place to practice architecture. How does it influence your work?
Monaco presents a complex environment, both technically and administratively with high urban density, demanding construction constraints and strict regulations. Over time, our practice has developed experience navigating these challenges, and the obtention of building permits for Monaco and France. For us, a successful project is also about the experience along the way. We believe every client serves a dedicated team, clear communication and the confidence of being guided through each step of the process. What continues to motivate you today?
The diversity of architecture itself. Every project begins with a different place, and set of constraints. Whether working on a private villa, a healthcare facility or a larger urban intervention, we remain interested in the same question: how can architecture create environments that are meaningful, functional and enjoyable to inhabit over time? The possibility of imagining an optimistic future is what motivates us. 40 Rue Grimaldi, Monaco Tel: +377 (0)6 78 63 92 96 | contact@abba.mc www.abba.mc | Instagram: @abba.archi

A lesson in style with Camille Loupias PRESTIGE INTERIORS
Stone as a manifesto ‘‘Marble, quartzite, granite or travertine… I am fascinated by stone and its endless variations. It brings character, depth and a quiet sense of inevitability to an interior. Every slab is unique, shaped by nature, with its veins, tonal nuances and irregularities. I like to use it far beyond the worktop, whether to clad a wall, structure a living space or create a bespoke piece of furniture.’’ Timelessness as a philosophy ‘‘The most successful interiors are those that stand the test of time, which is why I deliberately steer clear of fleeting trends. They often lead to uniform spaces, whereas every project should tell a singular story. This pursuit of timelessness underpins my approach: imagining elegant interiors shaped around the personalities, lifestyles and sensibilities of those who live in them, so that they remain as beautiful tomorrow as they are today.’’ Emotion as a signature ‘‘Whenever I discover my clients’ world, I always look for a distinctive element. More often than not, it becomes the foundation on which the project is built. It serves as an anchor point, a common thread that gives meaning to the whole. An interior may be impeccably designed, furnished and decorated, but it is the objects imbued with memories and emotion that give it a true soul.’’

The case for smaller cases WATCHMAKING IS REDISCOVERING THE VIRTUES OF RESTRAINT, DRIVEN BY THE LEGACY OF HISTORIC MODELS, A SEARCH FOR GREATER COMFORT, AND A MORE UNDERSTATED VISION OF LUXURY.
WATCHES JAEGERLECOULTRE REVERSO CLASSIC MONOFACE SMALL SECONDS BACK TO THE PROPORTIONS OF THE 1931 ORIGINAL.
A
fter years of relative discretion, watch cases measuring between 36 and 39 mm have emerged as one of the most sought-after expressions of contemporary elegance across both men’s and unisex collections. Long overshadowed by the trend for oversized watches, more compact formats are once again becoming a strategic focus for leading maisons. Recent editions of Watches & Wonders in Geneva have confirmed this shift. Rolex unveiled its new 36 mm Land-Dweller, while Cartier—long committed to balanced proportions—continues to champion this aesthetic through icons such as the Tank, Panthère, Baignoire and Santos-Dumont, whose appeal extends well beyond a female clientele. Yet this evolution extends beyond a simple reduction in size. Bulgari’s decision to introduce a 37 mm version of the Octo Finissimo alongside the existing 40 mm model illustrates the point. To achieve this new proportion

without compromising the watch’s identity, the manufacture developed an entirely new movement, demonstrating that demand for more moderately sized timepieces now justifies significant investment. Several factors explain this renewed enthusiasm. First is the growing interest in the aesthetic codes of the 1950s to the 1970s, when men’s watches favoured more restrained proportions. Jaeger-LeCoultre’s Reverso is a perfect example. Enlarged during the 1990s and 2000s to reflect the fashion for larger cases, it is now returning to dimensions more faithful to its original spirit. This evolution also reflects a more discreet vision of luxury, where balance and refinement matter more than sheer wrist presence. Wearing comfort plays a major role, alongside the influence of vintage watchmaking and the rise of unisex collections. The traditional boundaries between men’s and women’s watches are gradually fading in favour of more universal sizes. The new Chopard L.U.C 1860, with its 36.5 mm diameter, perfectly illustrates this transformation. More than a passing trend, the renewed appeal of smaller case sizes reflects a broader redefinition of desirability in contemporary watchmaking. In an era increasingly drawn to nuance over display, proportion itself has become a marker of modern luxury.

One of the most intricate pieces is the bike-chain bracelet, which requires nearly 60 hours of work and around 380 individual components to produce a single bracelet. What are the new creative horizons you are currently exploring?
There are several projects in development that I hope will come to fruition over the next year or two. I’m excited for people to see the brand continue to evolve while remaining true to its DNA. WHETHER IN PERFUMERY OR AUTOMOTIVE DESIGN, TRUE LUXURY LIES IN C R A F T S M A N S H I P.
When two worlds share the same vision, they create experiences that stir emotion and transcend expectations. Such is the case with Xerjoff and Automobili Lamborghini. One is renowned for its exquisite scents, the other is synonymous with power, prestige and performance. Together, they have created three perfumes that capture the spirit of Italian excellence, blending olfactory artistry with automotive passion. The collection unfolds through three creations—Avanguardia, Fierezza and Perseveranza—conceived as chapters of the same story rather than standalone releases. Together, they explore the values that define both houses, from the boldness of innovation and the confidence of a strong identity to the determination required to pursue perfection over time. The attention to detail extends beyond the perfumes themselves. Each coffret includes a fragment of authentic leather sourced from the Selleria department, the atelier responsible for crafting the interiors of Lamborghini production models. A subtle yet meaningful reminder that, whether in perfumery or automotive design, true luxury lies in craftsmanship. More than a collaboration, it is three perfumes, two icons, one lasting impression. www.xerjoff.com

W
hat happens when distance no longer determines how much time you need to set aside? It may sound excessive, even improbable, yet for a growing number of private aviation users, distance is losing much of its meaning. In fact, this is not really a story about aeroplanes, but time—or rather, the possibility of reclaiming it. When layovers disappear and itineraries become simpler, destinations that once seemed impossibly far away begin to feel unexpectedly close.
… STAYING CLOSER Imagine having a meeting in Geneva on Thursday afternoon, dinner in Singapore the following evening, four days aboard a yacht in Raja Ampat, and still being back home in time for Monday morning. A journey from Europe to Southeast Asia or the South Pacific no longer has to involve an overnight stay in a hotel, a refuelling stop in the Middle East or an additional day set aside for travel—turning what was once a fragmented itinerary into a seamless experience. In a world where calendars fill up quickly, travelling non-stop can help preserve familiar routines and avoid unnecessary detours. While ultra-long-range aircraft may appear to be designed for globe-trotting executives, their appeal extends far beyond business as they redefine expectations of what flying can feel like. In the end, it is not simply a matter of expanding possibilities: it is making it easier to fit the extraordinary into everyday life, allowing distant destinations to feel almost next door.
TRAVELLING FURTHER… Today, a new category of aircraft is going one step further. Certified in 2025, the Gulfstream G800 currently offers the longest range of any purpose-built business jet, capable of flying up to 8,200 nautical miles non-stop. Its closest rival, the Bombardier Global 8000, promises a similar capacity while reaching speeds of up to Mach 0.95, making it the fastest civil aircraft since Concorde. Yet numbers tell only part of the story. Spending fifteen hours in the air remains a demanding experience in itself. With cabins designed to feel more like private residences than aircraft interiors, these jets have become as much about comfort as capability. The G800, for instance,

features up to four separate living areas, dedicated sleeping quarters, sixteen panoramic windows and a 100% fresh-air system renewed every few minutes. Exceptionally low cabin altitudes, circadian lighting and whisper-quiet interiors are all intended to minimise fatigue and ease the transition between time zones. The objective is simple: to arrive ready for whatever comes next, rather than needing a day to recover.

cross the ages, the sea has challenged mankind to master distance, uncertainty and time itself. Long before aviation and satellite navigation transformed travel, sailors depended on highly accurate timekeepers to determine their position and safely cross the world’s oceans. In many ways, modern watchmaking owes part of its evolution to this relentless dialogue between man and sea.
NAVIGATING THE WORLD From the 18th century onwards, marine chronometers became indispensable navigation instruments. Watchmakers such as Breguet built their reputations on the pursuit of precision, supplying merchant and naval fleets across the globe. For generations, these instruments were far more than objects of precision. In 1815, Abraham-Louis Breguet was appointed ChronometerMaker to the French Royal Navy by Louis XVIII, a recognition of his pioneering contribution to maritime navigation. More than two centuries later, this heritage continues to inspire contemporary creations such as the Marine Hora Mundi 5555, whose sophisticated worldtime mechanism celebrates both travel and technical ingenuity.

BEYOND PERFORMANCE While some watches celebrate the sea through performance and adventure, others explore its more poetic dimensions. The ocean’s colours, textures and wildlife have inspired generations of artisans, elevating watch dials into canvases for exceptional craftsmanship. The Louis Vuitton Escale Cabinet of Wonders Koï’s Garden is a striking example, where engraving, enamelling and gem-setting techniques recreate the graceful movement of koi carp beneath the water’s surface. Far removed from the utilitarian origins of marine chronometers, such creations reveal a deeper and more emotional connection to the ocean. Whether as a guide for sailors, a testing ground for innovation, a stage for sporting achievement, a source of adventure or a subject of artistic expression, the sea remains an inexhaustible source of creativity. Its influence extends well beyond technical requirements, shaping aesthetics, materials and even the stories that brands choose to tell. Generation after generation, the maritime world continues to challenge watchmakers to push boundaries while remaining connected to one of humanity’s oldest dreams: the call of the horizon.
BLANCPAIN FIFTY FATHOMS TECH
A NAME INSEPARABLE FROM MODERN DIVING.
FROM THE DEPTHS TO THE REGATTA COURSE Today, the maritime world leaves its mark on watchmaking in countless ways. Some watches are designed to accompany underwater exploration, while others celebrate the competitive spirit of sailing. Launched in 1953, the Blancpain Fifty Fathoms is widely regarded as the first modern dive watch. Originally developed for military and professional divers, it established many of the codes that still define the category today, from exceptional legibility to robust water resistance. At the opposite end of the maritime spectrum lies the world of yacht racing, where every second counts. For decades, watchmakers have been drawn to the precision and performance demanded by regattas and international sailing competitions. The Rolex Yacht-Master, rooted in this nautical universe, captures the elegance and freedom associated with life at sea while reflecting the enduring connection between watchmaking and competitive sailing. Few modern collections embody the spirit of maritime action more vividly than the Panerai Submersible Navy SEALs. Inspired by one of the world’s most elite naval special forces units, it combines professional-grade performance with a bold and instantly recognisable design, reflecting the extreme conditions encountered beneath the surface.

It is difficult to choose just one. I always return to the Mediterranean, a sea that is deeply tied to my identity. But the dives that have stayed with me most for the beauty of marine life were in the Pacific, particularly in
“THE OCEAN IS BOTH A REFUGE AND A SOURCE OF ENDLESS SURPRISES.”
I love the unique meeting point between the Mediterranean and the mountains: a short drive from the seafront is enough to gain altitude. What message matters most today?
We live on the only known planet capable of sustaining life in such rich and diverse forms. There are many challenges, but if I had to place one urgency above all others, it would be protecting the living world. We need to put it back at the centre of our concerns. I try to

After all these achievements, what still drives you?
I no longer compete or feel the need to prove anything. Today, I simply try to maintain an intimate relationship with the sea and to share the idea that we all have a special connection with water. Freediving is not reserved for an elite: anyone can progress and discover a sense of inner calm through it. What has always driven me has never been medals, but exploration and the desire to venture into unknown territories.
What have these experiences taught you?
The depths allow you to step back from everyday life. They remind us of our vulnerability and our insignificance, but above all they have given me a sense of belonging to something greater than myself. Perhaps it is similar to what astronauts feel when they look back at Earth from space. It leaves us with greater humility and respect for life. What place on land still takes your breath away?
I have always been fascinated by verticality. I love mountain summits just as much as marine depths because they both give me the same sense of peace and fulfilment. The Mercantour mountains played a major role in shaping my

But I have too much respect for those who devote their entire lives to a cause to describe myself as an activist. To me, commitment is a lifelong endeavour. Finally, what does true luxury mean to you?
Time. I have always tried to build my life around having more of it, even if that means turning down certain projects. Today, luxury simply means being able to go for a swim in the sea and have time for myself. Freediving is part of that philosophy too: learning to be calm, to slow your movements and to quieten your mind.

TRAVEL
At the edge of the world FAR BEYOND THE FAMILIAR CIRCUITS OF THE SOUTH PACIFIC, THREE OF FRENCH POLYNESIA’S MOST REMOTE ISLAND DESTINATIONS ARE QUIETLY EMERGING AS THE ULTIMATE FRONTIER FOR DISCERNING EXPLORERS.
A
s some of the world’s best-known destinations grapple with growing visibility and ever-increasing visitor numbers, a new generation of travellers is looking further afield. In the South Pacific, where vast expanses of ocean separate one island from the next, a different kind of exclusivity awaits. Beyond the better-known allure of Bora Bora and Moorea, three destinations are quietly capturing the attention of yacht owners and sophisticated travellers alike: the Marquesas Islands, the Tuamotu Archipelago and Tetiaroa. THE MARQUESAS: A VOYAGE OFF-RADAR Few places on Earth feel as remote as the Marquesas. Scattered across the northern reaches of French Polynesia, this archipelago of twelve volcanic islands lies nearly 1,500 kilometres from Tahiti, rising from the Pacific in a succession of emerald peaks, black-sand coves and sheer cliffs. For those crossing the Pacific by yacht, they are often the first sight of land after days— sometimes weeks—at sea, their coastline appearing on the horizon long before individual peaks come into view.

TRAVEL SINCE JULY 2024, THE MARQUESAS ISLANDS HAVE BEEN RECOGNISED AS A UNESCO WORLD HERITAGE SITE, HONOURING THEIR EXCEPTIONAL CULTURAL AND NATURAL HERITAGE.
Their isolation has long shaped their identity. Here, Polynesian traditions remain deeply rooted, expressed through intricate tattoo artistry, ancestral ceremonies and a culture that feels largely untouched by tourism. Wild horses roam mountain ridges, waterfalls tumble into hidden valleys and some of Polynesia’s most striking tiki sculptures stand as reminders of the archipelago’s rich cultural heritage. The islands are also home to a remarkable concentration of archaeological sites, reflecting centuries of Marquesan history. THE TUAMOTUS: ENDLESS SHADES OF BLUE If the Marquesas belong to the mountains, the Tuamotus belong to the sea. Stretching across an immense swathe of ocean, this chain of nearly eighty coral atolls forms one of the largest lagoon systems on the planet. From above, the islands appear as delicate rings of white
sand suspended in striking turquoise waters. Below the surface lies one of the South Pacific’s richest marine environments. The passes connecting lagoons to the open ocean attract dolphins, manta rays, reef sharks and vast schools of tropical fish, making the archipelago a favourite among divers. Rangiroa and Fakarava— the latter a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve—are among the best-known examples, their famous passes ranking among the region’s most celebrated dive sites. Yet their appeal extends far beyond underwater adventures. Life moves at a different pace here, between deserted motus, quiet anchorages and open horizons, offering nothing but pure, unadulterated freedom. TETIAROA: THE ULTIMATE PRIVATE ESCAPE North of Tahiti, encircled by a crystal-clear lagoon, Tetiaroa occupies a unique place in the imagination of modern travellers. Once reserved for Tahitian royalty, the atoll gained international fame when Marlon Brando discovered it while filming Mutiny on the Bounty and later made it his private retreat. Today, access remains deliberately limited. Coconut groves, nesting seabirds and untouched beaches give the island a rare sense of calm, while ongoing scientific programmes monitor turtle populations and help preserve the surrounding marine environment. Often considered the natural final stop on a Polynesian cruising itinerary, Tetiaroa combines privacy, understated luxury and a strong commitment to conservation. As travellers venture ever further in search of places that still inspire wonder, Tetiaroa stands apart not for what it promises, but for what it preserves.

ART
How AI is reshaping museums ONCE CONFINED TO LABORATORIES AND TECH COMPANIES, ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE IS NOW BECOMING PART OF THE CULTURAL WORLD.
A
round the globe, artists, museums and digital art institutions are embracing AI to create innovative and engaging experiences for the public. Through interactive installations, generative artworks, and datadriven exhibitions, they are transforming the way art is created, presented, and experienced. Together, these projects offer a glimpse into the future of museums in the digital age. DATALAND: A SENSORY JOURNEY “AI is not just a tool but a collaborator in reimagining what art can be. It extends our imagination, our capacities,” says Refik Anadol. A pioneer in the aesthetics of data and machine intelligence, the artist is also the man behind Dataland, the world’s first AI art museum— opened in Los Angeles in June 2026. More than a gallery, it is a living laboratory where audiences can experience generative art powered by real-time data, cutting-edge technologies, and ethical artificial intelligence.

A VISITOR STANDS BEFORE A MONUMENTAL PROJECTION AT DATALAND, AN INSTALLATION POWERED BY REAL-TIME DATA AND ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE.
“For 5,000 years, humans have been emotionally moved by artworks, but the relationship has always flowed in one direction,” commented Anadol. “While developing Dataland we asked ourselves, Is it possible for artworks to feel us back?” This question lies at the heart of the inaugural exhibition Machine Dreams: Rainforest. At its core is the Large Nature Model (LNM), the world’s first open-access AI trained exclusively on more than 500 million nature images, enabling responsive installations that react to live rainforest data and visitors’ biometric signals. Spread across five galleries and 25,000 square feet, the exhibition combines monumental projections, LED environments, spatial audio, scent technologies, and interactive generative tools to create a multisensory exploration of the natural world.

UBS DIGITAL ART MUSEUM: THE NEW WAVE Announced for 2026, the UBS Digital Art Museum in Hamburg is expected to host teamLab’s Borderless concept. Designed as a space where people are encouraged to wander, explore, and interact freely, the institution reimagines the traditional visit as a fully participatory and multisensory experience. Rather than remaining passive observers, visitors will play an active role in shaping what unfolds around them. Spanning more than 6,500 square metres, the museum aims to become one of Europe’s leading destinations for contemporary digital creation.
barriers, and no clear distinction between the artwork and its audience. For a moment, it feels as though you have stepped inside a living painting. This is the kind of environment imagined by teamLab—a collective founded in Tokyo in 2001 by physicist and mathematician Toshiyuki Inoko. By bringing together artists and scientists, the group seeks to blur the boundaries between art, technology, nature, and human perception. From Tokyo and Kyoto to Abu Dhabi, Macao and Jeddah, these immersive installations have attracted millions of visitors worldwide. Through large-scale projections, real-time calculations, and interactive digital environments, they create three-dimensional worlds that respond to human movement.

Whether through AI-generated artworks, interactive digital environments or entirely new exhibition models, such initiatives demonstrate how artificial intelligence is opening new possibilities for artistic expression. By dissolving the traditional barriers between the viewer and the artwork, they embody a new vision—art is no longer merely displayed but fully inhabited.

TOWER OF THE SUN, OSAKA Rising 70 metres above Expo ’70 Commemorative Park, the Tower of the Sun is one of Japan’s most compelling artistic landmarks. Created by Tarō Okamoto, its three faces symbolise the past, present and future, while the monumental Tree of Life inside offers an immersive ode to evolution. VIGELAND PARK, OSLO Conceived as a total work of art, Oslo’s Vigeland Park is home to more than 200 sculptures by Gustav Vigeland. HAKONE OPEN-AIR MUSEUM Beyond its open-air collection, Hakone holds one of its greatest treasures: Symphonic Sculpture. Designed by French artist Gabriel Loire (1904-1996), this stained-glass tower glows with 480 dazzling panels. FRIDA: THE MAKING OF AN ICON
MARIKO MORI
Until October 18, 2026 Few artists have reshaped our experience of sculpture as profoundly as Anish Kapoor. Nearly three decades after his acclaimed exhibition at the Hayward Gallery, he returns with a spectacular presentation extending throughout the building and its outdoor terraces. Through recent creations and seminal works, visitors encounter monumental sculptures, mirrored surfaces, deep voids and intensely coloured forms that challenge perception and awaken the senses.
Until January 3, 2027 Frida Kahlo (1907-1954) remains one of the most recognisable artists in the world. This exhibition traces her transformation from celebrated Mexican painter to global icon through paintings, photographs, personal objects and archival material, while works by contemporary artists reveal how her image and legacy continue to inspire new generations. It also explores the fascination that helped turn her into a worldwide cultural phenomenon.
October 31, 2026 to March 28, 2027 Blending cutting-edge technology, Buddhist cosmology and visions of a post-human future, Mariko Mori’s first major exhibition in Japan in more than two decades surveys thirty years of a singular artistic practice. Spanning three decades, the presentation follows the artist’s journey from the cyber-aesthetics of the 1990s to immersive environments informed by Buddhist thought and a search for harmony between humans, nature and the cosmos.

SOPHIE CALLE
Until October 19, 2026 Presented during the 61st Venice Biennale, Transforming Energy marks a historic milestone for Marina Abramović, who becomes the first living woman artist to receive a major exhibition at the Gallerie dell’Accademia. Iconic performances, participatory installations and new works enter into conversation with the museum’s Renaissance holdings, creating unexpected resonances across centuries.
Until January 10, 2027 Drawing on the museum’s rich holdings, this exhibition revisits the history of Pop through a vibrant selection of works by artists including Andy Warhol, Roy Lichtenstein and Yayoi Kusama, presented alongside contemporary voices inspired by the movement. From iconic imagery to immersive installations, it reveals how Pop’s fascination with consumer culture, celebrity and mass media continues to resonate today.
November 13, 2026 to May 2, 2027 More than twenty years after her last solo presentation in Berlin, Sophie Calle returns to Hamburger Bahnhof with an exhibition bringing together six projects produced over the past three decades. Combining photography, text, film and installation, the French artist blurs the boundaries between autobiography, investigation and fiction, turning intimate experiences into compelling narratives.
