A VERY IMPRESSIVE PROFILE
Engineered for peak efficiency, the new 142 metre Dragonfly built in Germany from Lurssen in 2024 has a diesel-electric propulsion system and an electric Azimuth Pod Drive, which can operate independently in electric mode or in conjunction with other propulsion components to achieve maximum speed of 24 knots. It offers a gross tonnage of 9408.0 GT and a 20.0 m beam. The helideck is also laid with an amazing 600 square metres of Tesumo –a sustainable alternative to teak. Designed by famous naval architect German Frers (with Nauta Design for interiors), Dragonfly key highlights include a glass-bottom pool, a gym, a games room, and a beauty salon. This superyacht also features a bespoke, doublefolding stern platform that seamlessly connects the main deck with the beach club to create a spacious sea-level social area.
READY FOR CRUISING
Designed by Frank Laupman of Omega Architects, Project Agnetha’s exterior presents a sophisticated and contemporary profile. Horizontal lines accentuate the yacht’s length, while expansive, tinted glass panels on the main and upper decks maximise natural light and offer panoramic views. The distinctive “shark tooth” detail on the wheelhouse overhang adds a signature touch, and the removal of aft superstructure pillars enhances the indooroutdoor flow, providing uninterrupted ocean vistas from virtually every onboard location. The Fast Displacement hull coupled with two MTU 4000 engines, delivers a top speed of 15.5 knots and ensures stability in all sea conditions. This combination of low fuel consumption throughout the entire speed spectrum, the superior seakeeping and extreme reliability makes the 55m Dutch-built steel superyacht suitable for a range of cruising itineraries.

LILY OCEANCO
What’s new
WELCOME TO THE FUTURE
Designed by Vripack, Lily is a new 101-metre yacht from Oceanco, presented at the Dubai Yacht Show. “Lily is a testament to what’s possible when design meets advanced construction and engineering,” says Paris Baloumis, Marketing Director. “It represents Oceanco’s drive to deliver a fully realisable yacht for an owner ready to embrace the future.” The general arrangement has been configured to provide intimate spaces to accommodate multiple groups of families and friends. The large leisure deck serves as the heart of onboard activity, featuring a pool, as well as a gym, wellness area, watersports gallery, bar and dining space. The split-level guest deck offers 6 cabins and an aft lounge. The upper deck offers 3 guest cabins, an open-plan cinema and a suspended playroom accessible via a bridge. Lily integrates a new propulsion system developed to achieve high propulsive efficiency, directly translating to lower fuel consumption and reduced emissions.
INSPIRED BY THE NATURAL WORLD
The fruit of a collaboration between naval architect Timur Bozca and the Oceanco shipyard, this super yacht is a reference to Greek mythology and embodies the spirit of the sea. Its exterior design is inspired by the sleek lines of the swordfish. Aurai is equipped with an all-electric propulsion system: a first for a yacht of this size, enabling her to sail without noise or vibration, with incomparable energy efficiency. Inside, refinement is total. Every detail has been thought out to bring serenity and comfort: noble materials, meticulous finishes and a layout that maximises natural light. Among its assets: a U-shaped swimming pool. Surrounded by glass walls and vegetation, it offers an unobstructed view of the sea and a relaxing, aesthetic immersion in the water. A second pool awaits guests on the foredeck. Other keypoint: this 80-metre yacht also features a helipad.
SPACIOUS AND ELEGANT
The Gulf Craft Majesty 100 Terrace is a new 105-foot (32.25 m) motor yacht that boasts a sleek silhouette, refined elegance, and innovative design. With an impressive 199GT, it offers unparalleled space and stability, ensuring smooth cruising and superior fuel efficiency. The owner’s stateroom offers ultimate privacy with a private terrace and stunning 270-degree views, setting the stage for unforgettable onboard experiences.
The upper deck features a luxurious sky lounge and wheelhouse, while the lower deck houses spacious, ensuite-equipped cabins.
The sundeck includes a skylights, jacuzzi sunbeds and dining spaces, catering to those who crave an extra touch of luxury. With the twin MTU 12V2000M96L engines, the new Majesty 100 Terrace offers a top speed of 20 knots and a cruising speed of 14 knots, with a range of 1,050 nautical miles at a cruising speed of 12 knots.

REDEFINING INTERIOR SPACES
Born from the collaboration with the Studio Zuccon International Project for the exterior design and architect Piero Lissoni for the interior design, the Sanlorenzo SP92 retains the speed and design features of the line: on one hand, offering a total of 4,000 HP with waterjet propulsion, and on the other, the possibility of customisation. The yacht’s aft area offers a nearly 45-square-meter beach area. The deck is even closer to the water, while the superstructure design has been optimised for the installation of solar panels, maximising available surface area without compromising the aesthetic profile. The large perimeter windows of the superstructure highlight the elegance of the interiors, expanding the space and maximising the connection with the outside. The large rear window provides access to the interior, which, in a completely new approach for a vessel of this kind, spans 4 levels.
THE FRENCH TOUCH
A renowned French naval architect and designer, Thomas Tison has built his career at the crossroads of technological innovation and top-level competition. A graduate of Southampton University in naval architecture, then Cranfield University in aeronautical engineering, Tison founded his own studio, Thomas Tison Yacht Design & Engineering, in 2014, and is now developing his own shipyard, based in Villefranche-sur-Mer, on the French Riviera. Here, he designs bespoke yachts, incorporating the latest structural advances and the most highperformance materials, without ever sacrificing clarity of design or architectural intent. Right from the start, his involvement with Mascalzone Latino for the 32nd America’s Cup forged a radical vision of design: combining extreme performance, aesthetic finesse and structural rigor.
The America’s Cup has been a common thread running through his work ever since, a terrain for experimentation and a way of thinking that infuses all his projects. His recent creations assert a strong identity, nourished by Mediterranean culture: sober elegance, taut lines, light volumes and a constant dialogue between craftsmanship and innovation. Among his flagship projects, you could find Elida: a 15-metre sailboat combining a wooden hull with a carbon deck. Elida has been selected to represent Germany at the next Admiral’s Cup, confirming its status as a top-level regatta boat. Also in his plans, L’Été, a 12-metre daysailer designed for intuitive, elegant sailing. Recently, Thomas Tison was the architect responsible for building the boat for the British INEOS team, which competed in the last America’s Cup in Barcelona and won the Louis Vuitton Cup.
At the latest Monaco Yacht Show, Sinot Yacht Architecture & Design, a famous Dutch design studio, has unveiled a 138 metre superyacht concept focused on the Power of Inspiration. “Inspire” and its integrated, bold design combines inspiring yachting with an unprecedented hospitality experience. Inspire’s exterior is created using bold architectural lines, forming a 3D statement of elegant curves and strength. The light bluegreen shade of the hull color enables the yacht to blend naturally with the seas and skies. This effect is strengthened by floor-to-ceiling glass façades, multiple hatches, al-fresco lounges and shaded exterior decks, where unobstructed views of the water and skies provide true inspiration.
The superyacht consists of six decks: a top deck fully dedicated to the owner (offering a vast 250 sqm of living space including a bathroom with full beam vanity, two dressing areas and a private lounge), an upper deck with a giant lounge and open-plan wheelhouse to share the sailing experience, a main deck with guest cabins, restaurant and central staircase lobby, a beach deck containing VIP cabins, a wellness center, swimming platform, spacious beach lounge with a blue hole pool as well as generous spaces for inspirational events. At the lowest deck there is a submersible observation room (approximately 5-metre below the sea’s surface) delivering an uninterrupted view of the ocean below. Cruising at 11 knots against a top speed of 16.5 knots, Inspire will offer a range of 3,750 nautical miles.
LUXURY HYBRID YACHT CATAMARAN
The first catamaran built by Polish shipyard Sunreef Yachts at Ras Al Khaimah, in the United Arab Emirates (UAE), launching a new range (from 44 to 111’) of hi-tech hybrid power catamarans, a line of fully customisable crafts blending comfort, performance and lifestyle. With minimised energy consumption, Sunreef 55 Ultima offers a perfect blend of speed, stability, and luxury. Multihull standout features include a walkaround deck, a vast semi-open salon, and spacious aft with two-fold-down bulwark platforms. Two engine configurations to choose from: eco version with 2x e-350 kW + 2x 600 HP main engines or classic version with Volvo D6 - IPS 650 Engines. The top speed of the Sunreef Ultima 55 will be 45 knots.

MORE THAN CRAFTING BOATS, AMER YACHTS IS SHAPING THE FUTURE OF YACHTING, WHERE AVANT-GARDE MEETS ELEGANCE IN A UNIQUE BLEND OF PERFORMANCE, DESIGN, AND SUSTAINABILITY.
A holistic approach that seamlessly integrates smart tech, eco-consciousness, and design – this is how one might sum up Amer Yachts, a pioneer redefining innovation in yachting. The journey began in the 1960s with Fernando Amerio, an audacious nautical visionary who saw the immense potential of Italian motorboating. After founding Permare in 1973, Fernando Amerio’s entrepreneurial drive led to the launch of Amer Yachts in 1990 with its first 20-metre vessel. Today, Amer Yachts is renowned for its cutting-edge technology, refined craftsmanship, and strong commitment to the environment. Now helmed by Fernando’s daughters Barbara and Alessandra, his son Rodolfo, and niece Noemie, the company continues its legacy with the same philosophy, driven by relentless pursuit of excellence and an unprecedented attention to the planet. Their approach mirrors the principles of the United Nations 2030 Agenda, not merely as an ambition but as a guiding star for every decision and vessel crafted. This September, Amer Yachts will proudly unveil the Amer 41S Custom Explorer – the yard’s first steel yacht, symbolising continuous evolution and a new vision for sustainable luxury yachting. Engineered for versatility, it seamlessly navigates both displacement and planing speeds, a hallmark Amer achievement since pioneering Volvo Penta IPS technology in 2014. This revolutionary milestone represents the culmination of over a decade of research into lighter, smarter engines, offering a perfect fusion of autonomy, safety, and performance. From visionary beginnings along Sanremo’s shores to the glittering docks of Cannes and Monte-Carlo, Amer Yachts remains anchored in passion and a profound respect for the sea.

Explorer yachts: the ultimate adventure
DRIVEN BY A GROWING THIRST FOR ESCAPE, THESE VESSELS ARE DESIGNED AND EQUIPPED TO EXPLORE SOME OF THE MOST REMOTE AND UNTAMED ZONES OF THE PLANET SUCH AS POLAR REGIONS.
In recent years, demand for expedition yachts has seen a marked increase, accompanied by a surge in new build projects. This trend began in the year 2000 with the construction of several vessels focused on discovery. In 2003, the launch of the Octopus by the shipyard Lürssen, commissioned by Paul Allen (one of the co-founders of Microsoft), caused a sensation. This 126-metre yacht featured enough space to accommodate two helipads, a submarine, several toys, and was designed to sail to the four corners of the planet. This kind of vessel is now a regular presence at major international boat shows like Monaco Yacht Show. Commonly referred to as expedition or explorer yachts, they are gaining traction among owners seeking access to the planet’s most remote and challenging regions – including polar latitudes like Antarctica or far-flung tropical islands.
STEEL AND ALUMINIUM HULLS
Engineered for long-range navigation in all sea conditions, these vessels are characterised by reinforced hulls – typically constructed in steel or, increasingly,
aluminum. While steel offers high durability, aluminum provides superior resistance to ice impacts and has the added advantage of reduced weight. This results in lower fuel consumption and improved cruising efficiency. These yachts are also fitted with stabilisation systems to enhance comfort through rough seas.
ENHANCED RANGE
Range is a critical parameter: most expedition yachts are designed with a transoceanic range of at least 5,000 nautical miles, to cross oceans without refueling. This is essential to ensure operational self-sufficiency during long passages in areas with limited or no resupply infrastructure. On board these eco-friendly units, the layout differs from that of traditional luxury yachts. Storage spaces are significantly larger to accommodate scientific exploration gear, provisions, laboratories, as well as water toys, seaplanes, 4x4 vehicles, helicopters, or even submarines! Among the latest are King Benji (from Dunya Yachts) is a 47-metre yacht built for any adventure, with a steel hull and aluminium superstructure. The large aft deck, together with the

10-ton crane capacity ensures this vessel can carry all exploration equipment. Another new release: the Damen Yacht Support 53. This vessel is equipped with a powerful 15-tonne crane and an optional A-frame, providing exceptional lifting capacity for even the heaviest loads. Whether you’re launching tenders, submersibles, or vehicles, these heavy-duty tools ensure precise handling. The expansive 310 sqm deck space also offers unparalleled versatility.

A PLATFORM FOR MEANINGFUL EXPLORATION
Royal Yacht International has been appointed as central agent for the sale of Project Mission. Designed to reach remote destinations while minimising environmental impact, the vessel offers a unique opportunity to embark on transformative journeys with purpose. Mission is equipped with advanced marine science and expedition amenities as a helicopter landing platform or a toy/multipurpose store. Designed for both private and commercial use, Mission will accommodate 12 guests with the potential to expand to 18, along with a crew of 18 and space for up to 6 supernumeraries (i.e. Expedition staff).
REV OCEAN FOR 2027 LAUNCH
Considered the largest yacht in the world, the 182-metrelong REV Ocean vessel has completed its initial construction phase at Vard shipyard in Norway and will now proceed to Damen Shiprepair Vlissingen (DSV) in the Netherlands for the final stage of exterior and interior outfitting. The official launch is scheduled for 2027. Conceived by Norwegian businessman Kjell Inge Røkke in collaboration with designer Espen Øino, the exploration vessel is tasked with contributing to the cleanup of the oceans. REV Ocean is designed to accommodate 60 scientists and around 30 crew members. The yacht’s primary mission will be to remove some of the plastic pollution in the oceans. A suction system will be used to collect it, and an onboard incinerator will burn all materials including plastic, except metal and glass.

LONG ASSOCIATED WITH CRAFTSMANSHIP, YACHTING IS NOW ENTERING A NEW ERA THANKS TO THE INTEGRATION OF ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE. FROM INTELLIGENT NAVIGATION AND ENERGY SYSTEMS TO INNOVATIVE DESIGN, AI IS REVOLUTIONISING THE YACHTING INDUSTRY.
ATRUE REVOLUTION?
Today, AI is reshaping the yachting world, making boating safer, easier, more enjoyable, and more environmentally friendly. Right from the design stage, AI contributes to creating yacht concepts that are not only innovative and aesthetically pleasing but also highly functional. It aids in selecting advanced materials – such as composites or aluminum alloys – that improve performance through reduced weight and increased durability. With AI’s support, new yacht designs emphasise sustainability and carbon footprint reduction. Designers and architects also refer to “invisible technology,” which enables interior layouts where gadgets and screens are hidden when not in use, enhancing overall aesthetics.
At sea, AI systems determine optimal routes to save time and fuel, taking into account weather forecasts, sea conditions, currents, marine traffic, and potential hazards. Multiple sensors monitor and analyse the yacht’s systems in real time, alerting the crew when needed and potentially reducing maintenance costs by up to 30%. Dynamic positioning systems are redefining how yachts maintain their location, using computers to control positioning and avoid dangerous zones such as coral reefs. This technology significantly improves safety
by keeping the vessel stable, even in rough conditions. In some cases, AI can independently manage tasks like monitoring fuel levels or adjusting sails, without human intervention.
All these forward-looking solutions contribute to more efficient energy management on board by optimising the use of batteries, solar panels, or generator sets. This results in extended cruising range and a smaller environmental footprint.
AI ONBOARD: A NEW STANDARD OF LUXURY
Onboard, AI is transforming yachts into true luxury floating villas, enhancing comfort and energy efficiency through advanced home automation. For example, lighting systems adjust according to the time of day, while climate control maintains ideal temperatures. AI systems also learn guests’ preferences – automatically selecting music or proposing personalised activities. Some yachts even feature AI-powered concierges that suggest dinner menus tailored to guests’ dietary needs and past preferences. Security is also enhanced through facial recognition, intrusion detection, and automated alert management.
Technological advancements are paving the way for smarter, greener navigation and a level of personalised luxury and comfort like never before.

Born over 20 years ago in Germany, the Seabob is probably the most popular water toy on yachts. A fun machine that’s both environmentally friendly and free of all emissions. After more than 10 years, the Seabob F9 follows the F5 model. When designing this new watercraft, the designers from Studio F. A. Porsche, in collaboration with the engineers at Cayago AG, succeeded in equipping the Seabob F9 with excellent driving characteristics thanks to its special shape. The Seabob F9 has thus created a unique symbiosis between a stylish form and a convincing hydrodynamic function. The F9 version has been completely redeveloped from a technical point of view and provides unique driving characteristics. The technical performance data of the new Seabob are particularly impressive, offering a thrust in the water that is measured in Thrust Performance of 60 TP. Also, the Seabob F9 S version boasts a Thrust Performance of 84 TP. This means that the water sled can pull its pilots through the water at speeds of well over 20 km/h. With a sportive way of driving, the battery runtime can last up to 1 hour.

This is It: a concept never seen before
THE ITALIAN SHIPYARD TECNOMAR IS OFFERING THIS NEARLY 44-METRE-LONG CATAMARAN WITH AN ATYPICAL DESIGN. THE INTERIOR IS JUST AS ORIGINAL, INCORPORATING THE DESIGN CODES OF A LUXURY VILLA.
Commissioned by self-made Cypriot billionaire Tasos Papanastasiou, the “This is it” catamaran made quite an impression when it was officially presented for the very first time at the Monaco Yacht Show 2023.
This luxury yacht measures 43.50 metres (143 feet) in length and a beam of 14.78 metres, with a draft of 2.25 metres. Build of the powercat, which boasts a total glazed surface area of around 600 square metres (6,458 square feet) in total, began in a Turkish yard for the aluminum hull, before moving to Carrara, Italy, to Tecnomar (Italian Sea Group) for the interior fittings and everything else. The Italian shipyard is world known for producing the Lamborghini 63 sport yacht and famous super yachts brands like Perini Navi, Admiral Yachts or Picchiotti. According to Gian Marco Campanino and Mattia Piro, The Italian Sea Group’s designers “the main inspiration for this luxury catamaran style comes from the automotive world, therefore based on aerodynamics rules, fluid and organic lines, and flexible and dynamic shapes”. “The realisation of this extraordinary project challenges the “conventional” perceptions, driving us to completely recreate the boundaries of aesthetic parameters,” commented Giovanni Costantino, founder and CEO of The Italian Sea Group (TISG), at the yacht launch in Monaco.
Furthermore, “the careful weight distribution study was a significant factor in the engineering design process, especially considering the large amount of glass used in the project,” adds the shipyard crew. The hull lines was optimized to enhance hydrodynamic efficiency, leading to a significant reduction in fuel consumption and, therefore, emissions. In compliance with IMO Tier III requirements, the yacht is equipped with innovative exhaust gas treatment technology (SCR – Selective Catalytic Reduction) to reduce nitrogen oxide (NOx) emissions. Onboard, the interior confuses visitors with its asymmetrical architecture and amazing futuristic design like a glass house on water. “What applies to the exterior lines also applies to the interior style,” explains Gian Marco Campanino, The Italian Sea Group designer who led the unique project. The cocooning ambience onboard is complemented by a touch of smooth, “mood and feel”, pure luxury, thanks to the use of sophisticated and precious materials. bold geometric cuts and grey marble inserts. Silk wall panels accompany ceilings with bronze, platinum, and gold finishes. With a crew of 12, “This is it” can easily accommodate twelve guests in six cabins, including a spectacular owner’s suite upstairs with ceiling skylights (11-foot-tal) and a superb panoramic terrace. A dream for charter use or a cruise with friends! The main salon features a huge bar and games area, with plenty of sofas for convivial gatherings. The dining room, at the very front, opens onto a large forward deck. Finally, the Italian yacht also offers a massage room, sauna room and a galley with polarized glass for events and show cooking, mirrors the futuristic vision of the exteriors. An extendable dock gives plenty of space for an collection of water toys like Seabobs, jet skis, wake boards, paddle boards, kayaks or e-foils, not forgetting large chase boat and a tender RIB. Powered by two MTU engines, each rated at 2,636 hp, the “This is it” catamaran sails at a good top speed of 19 knots, offering a smooth and silent experience even when running at full gas. At 10 knots, the yacht gives a range of around 3,500 nautical miles.

A passion for detail
EMILY NEUGARTEN INTERIOR DESIGN
PASSIONATE ABOUT HER PROFESSION AND HER DESIRE TO BRING EXCEPTIONAL PLACES TO LIFE, EMILY NEUGARTEN HAS WELCOMED CLIENTS TO HER STUDIO IN MONACO’S “GOLDEN SQUARE” SINCE 2014.
Born in Belgium, what brought you to Monaco?
After pursuing my studies in Los Angeles, I was lucky to enjoy multiculturalism that I missed on my return to Belgium. Monaco seemed self-evident, to combine family closeness with the cultural diversity I find so enriching in everyday life. We mainly work in the Principality, in residential and commercial sectors, though my international clients invite me to follow them to other destinations: St Barts, Miami, the Bahamas, Megève, Saint-Tropez.
How do you define your style?
Both contemporary and timeless, with care for the tiniest detail. I am attentive to light, colours, textures, material..., though my signature consists of plays on perspectives, natural shades, textural blends. Monochromy too, occasionally. Not forgetting made-to-measure. Everything is designed by my studio, giving me total mastery over my projects. The aim is to offer a place for living which corresponds perfectly to my clients’ expectations, so they feel at home as soon as they move in. It is then that I most appreciate my work. We are artists, we live and evolve for the pleasure of pleasing others!
And the future…?
I’m passionate about delivering original, personalised designs to my clients. Currently, I’m immersed in the entire interior conceptualisation of a new 13-story building in Monaco, including its spa. This project allows me to bring ambitious ideas to life. My ultimate goal is to launch my own line of furniture and objects.

Luxury settings with starring roles
CHARACTERISED BY EXOTICISM, OPULENCE, TRANQUILLITY OR NATURAL BEAUTY, BACKCLOTHS CHOSEN FOR HIT TV SHOWS CAPTIVATE VIEWERS IN SEARCH OF AN EXCLUSIVE PLACE TO STAY.
When chosen as a setting in a TV series, a luxury hotel or residence unfurls its assets in the fullest and most intimate way. Which inevitably results in a soaring number of searches and reservations, for these addresses taking centre stage. Our first two examples are Four Seasons hotels, the world’s N°1 luxury hospitality brand with the most 5-star ratings across its hotels, resorts, spas, and restaurants. Season 3 of The White Lotus, the Emmy-winning series by Mike White, is a dark tale about a wealthy, but very vulnerable, American family with lots of twists, turns, and a shocking finale. It was filmed at the Four Seasons Resort Koh Samui on the Gulf of Thailand, an idyllic island sanctuary where guests (usually) bask in serene, natural beauty: sandy beaches, blue seas, lush tropical greenery, coconut groves. With exotic yet contemporary Thai decor, private villas with private pools, multibedroom residences, warm hospitality, rich culinary experiences, and bespoke wellness programmes at the Spa, the resort is ranked by Travel + Leisure as one of the world’s top 500 hotels for 2025.
SEASON 3 OF THE WHITE LOTUS WAS FILMED AT THE FOUR SEASONS RESORT KOH SAMUI IN THAILAND.
AIMEE LOU WOODTHE WHITE LOTUS (SEASON 3)
According to Hotels.com, rates start at $1,056 per night in May and early June, peak at $8,031 shortly after the season premiere in early March, then drop to $1,802 at the end of the month.
Another Four Seasons hotel which impressed viewers in just one episode of the Netflix series Emily in Paris, Season 2, is the Grand-Hôtel du Cap-Ferrat. Emily spends a weekend with two girlfriends at this legendary address built in 1908, overlooking the Mediterranean and recalling the aristocratic origins of tourism on the Côte d’Azur. Renovated throughout in 2009 while retaining its marble, linen and silk, it embodies Frenchstyle sophistication in a 17-acre park on the cape. Fabulous suites and villas, the famous Club Dauphin, its pool, restaurant, bar and cabanas, a heavenly spa, dining experiences that include the star-rated restaurant Le Cap… Guests adore the hotel’s timeless opulence and stunning setting, but also its glamour. It has long welcomed royalty, the rich and famous, literary and artistic celebrities, such as Winston Churchill, Aristotle Onassis, Charlie Chaplin, Elizabeth Taylor, William Somerset Maugham, Madonna…
Fans of travel who prefer secluded destinations were immediately drawn by Villa La Cassinella, one of three elegant residences in Italy that play seductive roles in Season 3 of the HBO series Succession. Hosting a meeting between Roman Roy and tech entrepreneur Lukas Matsson, Villa La Cassinella on the banks of Lake Como is only accessible by boat. Ideal privacy in which to focus on the deal in hand, or totally disconnect, in comfort and luxury with authentic Italian flair, an infinity pool with
22-carat gold tiles, a gym, screening room, and attentive staff providing all-round service for up to 17 guests within beautiful, landscaped gardens. The Succession production team was able to rent the three villas at short notice due to wedding cancellations during the pandemic. Normally declining film crews on the premises, they rent, if ever available, for around $100,000 per week.
Finally, the Soma Retreat made a real impact in the 2020 mini-series Nine Perfect Strangers starring Nicole Kidman. Ten minutes from the beach, it is surrounded by a rainforest in the Byron Bay hinterland in New South Wales. Its owners, media & tech entrepreneur Peter Ostick and Vedic meditation practitioner Gary Gorrow, acquired the 19.7-acre estate for $1.8 million in 2016, then built an airy 10-bedroom residence hosting wellness, yoga and meditation retreats, corporate events, and Airbnb holiday rentals. Possibly already sold, this rare getaway was back in the spotlight last October with a price tag of around $15 million.

INTRODUCING DECORATOR MANOLA BALLERIO, ONE OF SABRINA MONTELEONE-OEINO’S DAUGHTERS, RESPONSIBLE FOR THE ARTISTIC DIRECTION OF SABRINA MONTE-CARLO KIDS.
Sabrina Monte-Carlo is recognised for its expertise in interior design. What other services do you propose?
It all began in Monaco, in 1999, when my mother came up with the idea of designing outdoor furniture as refined as indoor. We then extended our expertise to indoor furnishings, then tableware with my sister, Carla. Today, we specialise in the design of elegant, harmonious areas for residences and yachts, and propose renovation services. In 2024, the launch of our on-line boutique enabled us to bring all our worlds together, including the one that I handle, dedicated to children.
Family seems to be a central value…
It is the very essence of our work. My mother co-founded Sabrina Monte-Carlo with her sister, Sophie, who manages the residential department. It runs like a thread through all our work, in which we build strong ties with our clients, often families, to assist them in each stage of their lives.
It was in this spirit that Sabrina Monte-Carlo Kids came into being, with the desire to make kids dream, especially with bedrooms on personalised themes.
A new Sabrina Monte-Carlo Babies boutique has recently been inaugurated. How did this project come about?
The arrival of a newborn baby demands extensive organisation. Designed as a life-size doll’s house, this boutique offers future parents everything they need to welcome the child: furnishings, decoration, pushchairs, stimulating early toys... The ideal place in which to create your baby wishlist!

A bejewelled bestiary
A COMPENDIUM OF WILDLIFE, REAL OR IMAGINARY, FROM WHICH WE CHOOSE OUR FAVOURITE COMPANIONS IN ALL THEIR SPLENDOUR.
BOUCHERON - UNTAMED NATURE (HISTOIRE DE STYLE COLLECTION):
Asource of inspiration since Antiquity for artists, sculptors, storytellers and jewellers, the richness of the animal kingdom is as precious as natural stones. Little wonder that it has long captured the imagination of jewellery designers sensitive to the bounty of Mother Nature and the untamed beauty of socalled beasts.
One of the most emblematic examples is Cartier’s Panther which appeared in 1914. This highly naturalistic creation is very close to reality or expressed in stylized, abstract or graphic style in Cartier’s rings, necklaces, bracelets, brooches, earrings, watches, even pens or tie pins. Exquisitely portrayed in diamonds, the Graff Butterfly then recalls fleeting moments of wonder, joy, delicacy, and rebirth. For over six decades, the renowned London jeweller has presented the rarest gemstones with exemplary expertise and sensitivity. The enchanting Butterfly collection features pieces that can be stacked, layered, and worn every day.
Particularly well-suited to jewellery, the sinuous, hypnotic snake is the iconic star of Bvlgari’s best-selling Serpenti collection. The Italian jeweller created “tubogas” or tubular bands to ensure amazing flexibility for this collection dating back to 1948. Pretty recent, considering that Cleopatra wore snake jewellery, and the pharaohs
sported symbols of the Uraeus snake on their crowns… Chaumet’s Bee collection does present the bee in some creations, but is better known for its mix-and-match honeycombs in gold and diamonds. Leading to infinity, evoking the radiance of the sun, and symbolising togetherness, they are the epitome of Parisian jewellery.
Tiffany & Co.’s bestiary jewellery in various styles features the enchanting Dragonfly brooch. The brand’s 2025 Blue Book, “Sea of Wonder”, also reveals high jewellery pieces of captivating delicacy in the guise of a seahorse, starfish, sea turtle, and other oceanic flora and fauna. Boucheron also reserves a predominant place for wildlife and birds in its creations. Its Collectible Animals catalogue proposes over 20 different species including wolves, polar bears, white swans and hummingbirds, richly enrobed in diamonds, emeralds and sapphires. Finally, the most playful offering on this theme has to be the “Noah’s Ark” collection signed Van Cleef & Arpels. More than 60 loving couples and 3 mythical creatures wear shimmering, lustrous attire and captivating expressions. As the jeweller says: “Good companions make for lovely journeys”.

Lucas Museum of Narrative Art
UNDER CONSTRUCTION SINCE MARCH 2018, THIS SHRINE TO STORYTELLING IN ART WILL OPEN IN 2026 IN THE 160-ACRE EXPOSITION PARK IN LOS ANGELES.
Co-founded by film-maker George Lucas (Star Wars, Indiana Jones…) and his wife Mellody Hobson, co-CEO and President of Ariel Investments, the Lucas Museum of 300,000 sq.ft will present their collection, assembled over several decades. It encompasses popular American art, illustrative, comic, cinematic and animation art, and African American works. “The stories that art tells are often key to understanding a society and its aspirations, whether our own or others,” says George Lucas. “We hope the Museum will help audiences better understand the world and build toward a more just and empathetic society.” Chief Curator Pilar Tompkins Rivas adds a more personal note: “Through narrative art, people from every age and background can find connections between their lives and those of others across eras, cultures, and regions of the globe”. Dating back to cave drawings, hieroglyphics and Roman mosaics, narrative art encompasses paintings, murals, sculptures, comics, photography, magazine and book illustrations, film and digital media. The collection contains works by illustrators Norman Rockwell, Jessie Willcox Smith, Maxfield Parrish; comic artists Winsor McCay, George Herriman, Jack Kirby; muralists Judith F. Baca, Diego Rivera; artists Jean-Michel Basquiat, Frida Kahlo, Jacob Lawrence, and many more.
The Museum’s acquisition of the Separate Cinema Archive added 37,000 items – posters, lobby cards, film stills, scripts – tracing African American cinema from 1904 onwards, with stars such as Paul Robeson, Duke Ellington, Sidney Poitier, and Josephine Baker. The Museum is designed by renowned architect Ma Yansong of MAD Architects, one of China’s most prominent design firms, with Michael Siegel of Stantec as executive architect. Clad in over 1,500 panels of fibreglass-reinforced polymer, this rolling, 5-storey building is set in an 11-acre site, formerly a parking lot. Its extensive new greenery, signed Studio-MLA, features a hanging garden, an amphitheatre, a waterfall fountain, and 200 new trees. Rejecting the right angle, this impressive, flowing museum will host about 100,000 sq.ft of exhibition space, two cinema theatres, a library, classrooms, a café, restaurant, special events areas, and an outdoor terrace. A long-time fan of Ma Yansong, George Lucas expects the museum to draw visitors for its architecture and park as well as its collection. He has also pursued goals for local hiring and collaborations with firms owned by women, minorities or veterans. By September 2022, the project had employed over 4,200 workers, 60%+ resident in Los Angeles County. A socially responsible approach, echoed by Mellody Hobson: “Our goal is to create an inclusive and accessible museum bringing people together from every walk of life”.

SEARCHING FOR A UNIQUE EXPERIENCE? HEAD FOR NORWAY, WHERE THE IRIS RESTAURANT ON BOARD THE SALMON EYE CERTAINLY FITS THE BILL.
This is an adventure for environmentalists, the curious, fans of art, gastronomy and challenges. It brings unexpected, uplifting rewards. On arriving at Bergen airport, your expedition starts with a drive or ferry cruise of less than 2 hours to the village of Rosendal, then a short e-boat ride calling at Chef Anika’s boathouse for a welcoming snack on the island of Snilstveitøy. Heading for the awesome Salmon Eye, a floating “experience centre” signed Kvorning Design, the setting for your getaway is comprised of the Hardanger fjord, snow-capped mountains, and the natural elements. Once on board the gleaming, orb-like Salmon Eye clad in 9,000 steel plates like fish scales, a multisensory experience awaits you in the world’s largest floating art centre, on the theme of planet-friendly seafood production.
The 4-floor Salmon Eye is the brainchild of the family behind Eide Fjordbruk, the world’s only salmon producer to have won CarbonNeutral® certification. Its concerns about threats to the global food system and innovations which need to be introduced are shared by Anika Madsen. This accomplished Danish chef, who joined the restaurant industry when aged 17, focuses on sourcing, sustainability, quality, and thus the use of seasonal and local ingredients. Once seated in the Iris restaurant, hosting 24 guests at most, you will be mesmerised by 18 exceptional tasting courses, conjured up by Anika. Telling their stories and those of farmers, fishermen and other suppliers, they are all made of top-notch Norwegian produce, nutritious, flavoursome, with the accent on wild ingredients from mountains and forests and, of course, rare gems of the bounty of the sea. In the centre of the Salmon Eye, its “Iris”, inaugurated in June 2023 and already awarded a Michelin star,
is stark, refined, in minimalist Scandinavian style, with smooth dark wood, huge, curved windows offering views of the mountains, and a laid-back atmosphere with no formal dress code. The friendly service is orchestrated by Nico Danielsen, Anika’s husband, and wine plays a judicious part in several pairings (one non-alcoholic). They complement 18 refined dishes in all, on a pre-set menu marked by technical expertise in the kitchen, innovative and captivating presentation. This unique form of gastronomy – which, however, cannot accommodate certain dietary restrictions –, is a lesson in what we are missing in terms of flavours, delicacy, the diversity and generosity of Mother Nature, who deserves our protection. At the end of the evening, another boat ride takes you back to Rosendal. An immersive experience lasting 5 to 6 hours, leaving indelible memories of landscapes, discoveries, participation, but also of mussels, cuttlefish, small salmon, reindeer, rhubarb, caviar, berries…

BUT SO IS EXQUISITE TASTE! TWO FACTORS GOVERNING HIGH GASTRONOMY AND LUXURY WATCHMAKING, BOTH ROUSING EMOTIONAL RESPONSES FROM DISCERNING FANS WHEN PROPOSED AS ICONS OF INTRICACY.
High Gastronomy and High Horology share dedication to expertise, excellence, and authenticity. Traditional values accompanied by a desire to explore, innovate, and create new objects of desire. Over recent decades, recognition of shared values and a mutually supportive approach have led many players in the luxury lifestyle sector to create partnerships, which also heighten their visibility on the world stage. Far from being poles apart, luxury watchmaking and high gastronomy enjoy a convivial team spirit embodied by friends, ambassadors, and a shared conviction that we must all keep an eye on the clock! Among renowned chefs focusing on precision and representing luxury watch brands, the legendary Paul Bocuse wore the Rolex Datejust, proclaiming in a 1976 advertisement: “There is no fine cooking without perfect timing”. Known for her intuition and inventiveness, 3-star chef Anne-Sophie Pic wears Hublot’s Big Bang One Click, while Jean-François Piège, a great fan of watches, was once an Ambassador for Piaget. Cédric Grolet, Pastry Chef at Le Meurice in Paris, wears a Pasha Squelette by Cartier, Philippe Etchebest and Mory Sacko, “Top Chef” in France, sport TAG Heuer watches, while Cyril Lignac, owner of several fine addresses in Paris and an enthusiastic collector, has a soft spot for Patek Philippe and Audemars Piguet. Yannic Alléno was given a Hublot watch by Bernard Arnault, CEO of LVMH, when he won a third Michelin star for his restaurant in Courchevel.

OPPOSITE, THE CHRONOMÈTRE SOUVERAIN FROM THE CLASSIQUE COLLECTION.
A relatively young Swiss watchmaker, founded in 1980, Hublot stepped into the limelight with the world’s first natural rubber strap, then the Big Bang chronograph of 2005. Acquired by LVMH in 2008, it drew public recognition through its sponsorships of top football teams, as official timekeeper for championship events, and by enlisting Ambassadors such as Ayrton Senna, Usain Bolt, Mbappé, Pelé, Maradona…, but also in the arts, music, and gastronomy. Chef Yannick Alléno, for example, heads up Le Pavillon Ledoyen near the Champs-Élysées, a restaurant awarded the highest number of stars worldwide in 2020.
Switzerland’s oldest watchmaker, Blancpain started out in 1735, conjuring up top-quality technical innovations such as the automatic Rolls for women in 1930, and the ultra-reliable Fifty Fathoms for combat divers, commissioned by the French army in 1953. Now part of the Swatch group, the brand’s partnerships with chefs over almost four decades include Paul Bocuse, Glenn Viel of Baumanière, Julien Royer, Dominik Sato, Fabio Toffolon… Joined in February 2025 by a new “Friend”, Christophe Hay, owner of Fleur de Loire in Blois, and dedicated to responsible gastronomy, the local terroir, harmony between heritage and innovation, and an uplifting way of life based on sharing and conviviality.
Jaeger-LeCoultre’s “Made of Makers” collaborations highlight creativity in different fields, recently that of Mathieu Davoine, an emerging talent in “chocolaterie”, and Indian chef Himanshu Saini with his 2-star restaurant in Dubai. Back in Geneva, very close ties between the ultimate in watchmaking and gastronomy are exemplified by the reopening of the historic Bavaria brasserie in 2023, now the F.P.Journe Le Restaurant thanks to Michelin-starred chef Dominique Gauthier and artist-watchmaker François-Paul Journe, creator of unique timepieces inspired by heritage masterpieces, but also an Epicurean and lover of fine wines.
Finally, the reality of time ticking by in the kitchen is highlighted by chronometered recipes and cooking times, timers, and clocks on the walls provided by TAG Heuer for Philippe Etchebest and Blancpain for Joël Robuchon. Visual reminders of shared determination to focus on passion for past, present and future, with precision and intricacy the order of the day.

AVIATION FUEL (SAF) TO BE THE N°1 CONTRIBUTOR TO DECARBONISATION OF THE INDUSTRY BY 2050.
Sustainable aviation fuel
HOW IS SAF RESPONDING TO THE HUGE CHALLENGE FACING THE AVIATION INDUSTRY TO ACHIEVE NET ZERO CARBON EMISSIONS BY 2050?
Today, with air transport accounting for 2-3% of global CO2 emissions, the IATA expects sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) to be the N°1 contributor to decarbonisation of the industry by 2050. Authorized globally since 2011, renewable fuels reduce emissions by 80% compared to traditional kerosene, and aim, ideally, to power aircraft up to 100%. In 2024, SAF represented only 0.53% of all aviation fuel. Blended with conventional fuel using fossil resources, SAF components are made from feedstocks, ie. waste or residue from renewable sources: used cooking oils, fats, vegetable oils, alcohols such as ethanol and iso-butanol, green hydrogen, algae, municipal, agricultural, and forestry waste. In 2023, SAF volume exceeded 600 million litres, twice as much as in 2022, but 2 to 5 times more expensive than conventional fuel. Higher production demands collaboration between governments, industry, and regulators worldwide, though limited availability of land and biowaste is the N°1 challenge. Fluctuating demand for air transport is another factor. The IATA predicted in June that passenger traffic growth, which had been on the rise, will decelerate to 5.8% in 2025 from 10.6% in 2024. SAF technology faces a huge challenge to accelerate. Among current developments, Neste, a prominent biofuel
producer, scaled up its SAF production in 2022, partnering with airlines and fuel suppliers to expand accessibility and reduce costs while exploring emerging raw materials such as acid oil and wastewater-derived grease. Airbus targets at least 30% SAF in its global fuel mix for its own flights by 2030, invites its clients to fuel their new aircraft with SAF, and runs 100% SAF flight tests to explore the impact of SAF emissions on the atmosphere. Shell sees synthetic kerosene as a long-term solution for high-volume SAF production. It combines captured carbon from industry and agriculture (and directly from the air, in future decades) with green hydrogen from water and renewable power. Elsewhere, researchers have converted agricultural and forestry waste into SAF using a new catalytic process which could create a circular economy using waste products rather than crops. Power-to-liquid fuels uses renewable electricity to synthesise hydrocarbons from water and carbon dioxide. Another process to produce SAF from carbon dioxide is Direct Air Capture using hydrogen and a metal catalyst to create a closed-loop carbon cycle. If scaled efficiently, these last two systems could provide aviation with a nearlimitless supply of sustainable fuel. Finally, and crucially, wider research is now being joined by expanding SAF facilities worldwide, and governments stepping up their support with tax credits and subsidies. Will 25 years suffice to reach the target?

THE DESIRE TO TRAVEL IS STRONGER THAN EVER, AND PROPOSALS FOR BAGS, SUITCASES AND TRUNKS ARE ALSO ON THE RISE…
The epitome of luxury luggage, Louis Vuitton is a prime example of this surge in creativity. Its original “Damier” or chessboard pattern was designed in 1888 by Georges Vuitton: geometric, floral, with the initials of his father, Louis Vuitton, the company’s founder, who made trunks for Napoleon III’s wife, Empress Eugénie. An iconic design travelling down the ages and winning global applause for this exclusive brand whose limited production ensures sound long-term investments. Today, the imposing range of trunks “The World is Yours” has opted for an enticing matt or transparent finish while the “Soft Leather Goods” range imparts new life to classic models such as “Neverfull” or “Alma”, previously made of canvas. Appointed in 2024 as Artistic Director, Pharrell Williams, known for his musical career and close ties with fashion, invited his friend Tyler, The Creator, to work on a new set of Louis Vuitton ready-to-wear, wheeled cabin luggage and mini bags bearing the rapper’s name. Forging ahead with originality, notably thanks to designer Marc Newson, Louis Vuitton has also used huge trunks rather than boring scaffolding during renovation almost doubling the size of its flagship high-rise on Fifth Avenue,

IN 1920, RIMOWA TOOK A VISIONARY STEP BY ADOPTING ALUMINIUM FOR ITS LIGHTNESS.
an awesome visual merchandising opportunity! With uncanny foresight back in 2017, LVMH acquired the German brand Rimowa, whose ultra-light aluminium models are seen as the summum of suitcases on wheels, now associated with top brands such as Off-White and Tiffany, and muses Roger Federer, Patti Smith, Rihanna etc.
A far cry from the brand’s origins, dating back 127 years, when it crafted custom-made cases made of leather-coated plywood and cardboard! In 1920, Rimowa took a visionary step by adopting aluminium for its lightness, adding grooves in 1950, and introducing polycarbonate suitcases in 2000, which set a new standard for the industry. Inspired by the golden age of aviation and the first all-metal aircraft, Rimowa’s iconic grooves became its hallmark, now seen as timeless and perfectly natural. An uplifting tale of early craftsmanship, expertise and quality, dedicated to the evolving needs of travellers worldwide, since 1898. Other brands that are revamping their heritage luggage are Delsey, Samsonite, the colourful Lipault, and Gucci, with a new boutique on Faubourg SaintHonoré dedicated to travel. Embodying luxury and refined taste in international hotels and airports – which can expect to receive 7 billion travellers by 2034* –, these essential travel companions include a hi-tech weekend bag and shapememory sets by Ermenegildo Zegna / Maserati proposing discreet Italian flair. New tote-bags, shoulder bags and pouches signed Chanel, Hermès, Longchamp and Bottega Veneta then add constantly renewed appeal to the traveller’s wardrobe.

All electric vehicles: where to next?
CONFRONTED BY MANUFACTURING CHALLENGES AND MORE, EVS ARE MEANWHILE BENEFITING FROM INNOVATIONS IN CONNECTED INTELLIGENCE, SAFETY, AND SUSTAINABILITY.
In 2024, global sales of new EVs topped 17 million (11 million in China), and over 20% of new cars sold worldwide were electric. In the first quarter of 2025 vs that of 2024, EV sales rose 35% despite subsidy phase-outs, especially in Europe. Trump’s zigzagging tariffs and policies now make global volume hard to predict. Last year, 24 new models were launched, slashing Tesla’s US market share from 60% in 2020 to 38% in 2024. In the first quarter 2025, however, Tesla Models Y and 3 were best-selling BEVs worldwide. The IEA rates EVs as the N°1 technology to decarbonize road transport, accounting for over 15% of global energy-related emissions. Transition demands huge changes for manufacturers, requiring fewer, but more complex, components and tools – plus a dual-platform strategy, as internal combustion energy and hybrid vehicles are needed for quite some time. An ICE vehicle can have 10 times more moving parts than an EV, though some of the tools required are much more complex and expensive. Leading EV makers increasingly build chassis and frames in one piece, using megacasting, for example, to inject up to 80 kilos of molten aluminium into a single underbody mould. Further challenges include a huge volume of batteries, with solid-state models promising greater power density and lighter weight, and more efficient and affordable LFP batteries for long distances. Concerns about the availability and speed of charging facilities explain growing popularity for large models with
a range of over 482 km, such as the Tesla Model S and BMW i3. In March 2024, the 818,819 charging points across Europe, unevenly spread out, needed to deliver more power. On the positive side, advances in battery solutions include higher production, improved energy density and storage, faster charging, eco-friendly materials. Solid-state batteries offer spearhead energy storage using solid electrolytes instead of liquid or gel, enhanced safety through non-flammable materials, longer lifespans, and wider temperature tolerance. Ultra-fast power at 150kW or more now enables EVs to charge 10 to 80% in 15–30 minutes, often in motorway services and charging hubs. Vehicle-to-grid connectivity enables throwback from EVs, while cable-free charging uses electromagnetic induction. Real-time communications systems also enable efficient load management using renewable energy. Autonomous driving is also evolving, as in Tesla’s Auto Lane Change and Navigate on Autopilot. Mobileye enhances vehicle safety and efficiency with advanced sensors, AI and connectivity for traffic management, while solar-integrated EVs use photovoltaic cells on roofs or surfaces to convert sunlight into electricity. Finally, while fans of design eye the Lotus Evija, Polestar 3 SUV, Porsche Taycan Turbo GT, RollsRoyce Spectre Black Badge.…, Ed Wellburn, ex-VP of global design for GM, predicts that tomorrow’s EV will have two distinct components: a running chassis housing batteries, motors and systems, then the body, including the interior, entrusted to coachbuilders delivering 100% bespoke design.
