RECREATION + COMMUNITY CENTERS

Community and recreation centers play a vital role in any community. Whether they provide meeting spaces, community resources, or just a safe place to play, an effective community center can be an invaluable asset. McMillan Pazdan Smith has worked with cities and counties across the Carolinas and Georgia to design these public facilities, and we know how to get maximum value for the taxpayer.

Recreation design in particular is an area of strength for McMillan Pazdan Smith. With many of our architects being former athletes, we understand how to design from the athlete’s perspective. Our experience ranges from simple community gymnasiums to sports complexes designed for hosting large, regional events.

HOSPITALITY + EVENT CENTER DESIGN

We strive to reflect the culture and identity defining each community, while accommodating design criteria, brand — and understanding that cost and speed-tomarket are vital aspects of a development-driven effort.

Our philosophy is to become a valued partner — understanding the client’s business goals and helping them achieve success through creativity in the built environment. The way we work, the communities we serve, and the environments we create — all reflect a sense of place and purpose. Our designers have created great hotels for boutique collections such as Beemok Hospitality, Auberge Resorts, Kessler Collection, and Lowe Destination Development, along with traditionally branded experiences for Marriott, Hilton, and IHG.

Hospitality design is a distinctive skill that requires the blending of a great guest experience with the functionality of an efficient back-of-house. It demands an understanding of Brand — what makes the business unique, plus a realization of local needs, your audience, and your market.
