The V&P Family Group supports music education and provides access to underprivileged children; mentors young generation of musicians to succeed in the music business; preserves and promotes the history of Reggae and Caribbean music through public program and provides emergeny assistance to Caribbean Muscians and Artists.

Founded by Patricia Chin, co-founder of the VP Records Music Group, a global reggae and soca music label, distributor and promoter based in Queens, New York.

The 12'N, 61'W Grenada Film Festival, also known as the 1261 film festival, derives its name from the geographical coordinates of Grenada, serving as an homage to the island's unique location. As a Grenadian-based destination festival with an expansive international reach and appeal, its core purpose is to promote Grenadian culture and stories to a global audience.

In addition, the festival wholeheartedly embraces the vibrant cultures of other regions, fostering collaboration and mutual understanding. Being the only film festival in Grenada, empowering the local industry through resource sharing, education, and artistic collaboration is crucial.

Meschida Philip, a Grenadian-American multidisciplinary creative director, and filmmaker, is the visionary founder behind this dynamic celebration of film and culture.

She’s less than five feet tall, but she’s a giant in the reggae music business. Patricia “Miss Pat” Chin is co-founder of VP Records, the largest independent reggae record label in the world. Reflecting the diversity of the Asian American community, her story is rooted in Asian Caribbean history and at 85 years old, she is still making music.

There’s no better way to see a destination than through the eyes of a local. In our NYC Local Legends video series, notable New Yorkers share their perspectives on some of the five boroughs’ most vibrant and culturally rich neighborhoods.

In this episode, Grammy-winning, Trinbagonian Brooklynite Angela Hunte, most known for her song with Machel Montano “Party Done” and for writing the mega-hit “Empire State of Mind” by Jay-Z and Alicia Keys, takes us around Flatbush, highlighting the local Caribbean culture through food, music, carnival and more. Kirton Roberts, better known as "Alma Boy," hails from Grenada but currently resides in the USA. His stage name, Alma Boy, is a heartfelt tribute to his late mother, Alma, who passed away when he was just 15 years old.

Alma Boy is a versatile artist, showcasing his talents as a singer with a powerful and energetic voice and a skillful songwriter and producer under his own label, 4 Certain Productions. enowned for his electrifying stage presence, he captivates audiences with his unpredictable performances, leaving a lasting impression wherever he goes.

Grammy and Emmy-nominated and Int'l Award-winning vocalist, songwriter, actress and producer, N'kenge (pronounce "nuh-KEN-JEE"), born and raised in The Bronx began honing her artistic talent at a very young age. N'kenge vocal and musical range spans 5 octaves, 11 languages and multiple genres.

She has captivated audiences all over the globe, transitioning seamlessly between concerts in pop, jazz, soul, R&B, opera, American Songbook and Broadway musicals. N'kenge continues to prove that she is not resting on her laurels, with all her life achievements and accolades, she shows no signs of slowing down. Watch out for this incredible multitalented artist coming to a stage or screen near you!

Majid Khaliq is a violinist and composer cut from a different cloth. He has been described by legendary musician Wynton Marsalis as having “a unique blend of improvisation, groove and technical sophistication.”

He has played with such artist as Wynton Marsalis, Mr. Cheeks, Antonio Hart, Craig G, John Blake Jr., Dyme-aDuzin, Itzhak Perlman, Keith David, Isaac Stern and Regina Carter.

Majid’s music is an eclectic blend of styles and influences which pull from European classical, jazz & hip-hop. In 2018, Majid released his greatly anticipated 2nd studio album entitled “SOUND OF A FLOWER “ at National Sawdust to a SOLD OUT crowd and has since seen great radio success.

Also, 2018 found Majid alongside Harlem rapper A$AP Ferg in a YouTube RED series entitled, SUGAR. Mr. Khaliq released a collaboration recording with Brooklyn MC, Dyme-a-Duzin in the spring of 2019 named HIPHOP. As well as, Majid’s anticipated 3rd studio album release, NO LOOKING BACK in 2022.
