Brentwood Park: Your New Destination for Fun!

Submitted by Sophie Spaid, Recreation Supervisor - Marketing, City of Brentwood

On April 6, the City of Brentwood opened its brand-new destination playground in Brentwood Park! This playground has truly lived up to its name of “Destination Playground" with visitors coming in from all over the region, making a special trip to Brentwood, Missouri, to visit its newest playground.

Brentwood Park’s Destination Playground Grand Opening was a huge success with the help of active social media marketing and collaborations with local content creators. The parks and recreation department and collaborators shared major construction updates and videos of the playground building process online, catching the attention of viewers. Social media content collaboration helped Brentwood Parks and Recreation reach a wider audience and played a key role in the marketing of the destination playground.

This 2.7-acre playground features zip lines, large climbing structures, rock walls, slides, a massive splash pad, and so much more. Brentwood Park and playground are ADA accessible and host a wide variety of inclusive play options for kids of all abilities. There are two roller slides designed to not generate static electricity that would interfere with cochlear implants. A wheelchair-accessible merry-go-round. Both climbing structures have low access points that make it possible to lift someone easily onto them. This playground was designed to have something for every child.

Brentwood Park’s splash pad has already become a St. Louis summer bucket list destination. Measuring 7,895 square feet, this splash pad hosts interactive spray features, water dams to control the flow of the splash pad channels, and slip-resistant rock formations. The water channels in the splash pad are named after local creeks in the area and are a nod to the surrounding Brentwood area.

Brentwood Parks and Recreation has received an outpouring of positive responses both in person and online from visitors. To quote one visitor, “This park wasn’t just a playground; it was a vibrant community hub where laughter served as the universal language... It’s about more than just play; it’s about building bridges and friendships.” This park has quickly become an integral part of the Brentwood community and the Greater St. Louis region, serving as a vibrant gathering place where families, friends, and neighbors come together to connect, play, and create lasting memories. Brentwood Park will continue to serve as a destination for fun this summer and well into the future.
