External faculty John Haanen Nederlands Kanker Instituut John is Head of the Medical Oncology department at NKI-AVL, the Netherlands Cancer InstituteAntoni van Leeuwenhoek Hospital) in Amsterdam in The Netherlands. John is one of the leading Melanoma oncologists and has in fact dedicated his entire career to Immunotherapies in cancer. He works both as a scientist (NKI and as a Professor of Translational Immunotherapy of Cancer at Leiden University Medical Centre (LUMC)) and as a medical oncologist and his department is one of the very few in Europe offering a TILs (Tumorinfiltrating Lymphocytes) program.

Alfonso Auguarón Myeloma Patients Europe Alfonso, our colleague from Myeloma Patients Europe, is a Computer Engineer by training and got involved in patient advocacy after his own diagnosis with Hodgkin Lymphoma in 2008. Alfonso’s passion is to optimally use resources and knowledge for the benefit of patients. He has extensive social media experience to foster collaboration and exchange and is the coordinator of the newly founded WeCan (informal Workgroup of European Cancer patient Advocacy Network) initiative.

Good to know The Swedish currency is SEK 1 Euro = 9.4 SEK Cash machines can be found in the arrival area at the airport. Weather Please prepare for the Swedish weather and check the weather report before travelling- we might already have snow. Closest Airport Stockholm ARLANDA is Sweden’s main airport and ca 30 min drive away from Krusenberg Herrgård. Transfers Arlanda Airport to Uppsala Please arrange your own transport from the airport to the Uppsala Monitoring Center. Details are available in the separate logistics flie as shared on slack. UMC to Krusenberg We will arrange a transfer from Uppsala to Krusenberg Herrgård after our visit to UMC. Arlanda Airport to Krusenberg The best way to reach Krusenberg is by Taxi. Please try to join others and print this program with the Hotel details including GPS coordinates and a phone number to the Hotel as Krusenberg is not far but not that easy to find. Krusenberg to Arlanda airport The Hotel will be able to assist you with arranging the transfer.
