Books & Babies is a structured 20 minute program that combines books, short rhymes, songs, fingerplays and movement activities to introduce children to the wonder of language. Children must be accompanied by an adult caregiver. Sessions are limited to 15 participants.

Toddler Time is a structured 30 minute program in which books, story-related activities and take-home crafts provide an enjoyable group experience. Children must be accompanied by an adult caregiver. Sessions are limited to 30 participants.

Preschool Pals is a structured 30 minute program in which books, story-related activities and take-home crafts are used to increase early literacy skills and kindergarten readiness. Children are encouraged to interact socially with other children and attend sessions independently. Caregivers must remain in the library. Sessions are limited to 30 participants.

Join us as our guest speakers discuss a variety of topics of local interest. Oct. 10: This month, speaker Dan Dosmann will present 1900s Mishawaka Picture Postcards. Dan is an active volunteer with the Mishawaka History Museum and has collected over 800 picture postcards of Mishawaka. Join us as we get to view depictions of Mishawaka businesses, churches, factories, schools and more in picture postcards. No registration required.

Nov. 14: This month, speaker Matthew Baumgartner will present Lew Wallace, Indiana Icon. Matthew holds degrees in History from the University of Georgia, as well as a Ph.D. in Medieval Studies from the University of Michigan. He is a lifelong researcher on the U.S. Civil War, with a focus on the Battle of Monocacy. Join us as we learn about Lew Wallace’s career as an Indiana lawyer, author and later an Ambassador to the Ottoman Empire. No registration required.
