National Library Week Storytime Mishawaka Library | Mon., April 4 11-11:45 a.m. | Age 7 & under We’re celebrating National Library Week! Join us for a library-themed storytime with songs and activities, and then choose from a variety of bookmark crafts so you can keep reading when the fun is done. Spring “Egg”-stravaganza Bittersweet Branch | Tues., April 5 Mishawaka Library | Wed., April 6 10:15-11 a.m. | Age 5 & under Hop over to the library for some spring fun! Early Literacy Café Mishawaka Library | Wed., April 13 Bittersweet Branch | Thurs., April 14 10:15-10:45 a.m. | Age 5 & under Join us for a morning of early literacy fun! We’ll have a variety of play and sensory stations set up for little ones to practice important early literacy skills. A Little Bit of Everything Book Club Bittersweet Branch | Mon., April 18 2-3 p.m. | Grades K-8 Join us for a new homeschool book club with a plethora of activities ranging from book trivia to STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Math) and everything in between. Each month will include different activities. The book for April is Poppy by Avi. Copies of the book will be available for checkout at each Youth Services desk beginning on March 21. One copy per family. Your child can read the book alone or share the book as a family read aloud. Adult caregivers must remain in the library for participants 11 years of age and younger. Registration required.

Passover Storytime Mishawaka Library | Thurs., April 21 10:30-11 a.m. | Age 7 & under Join us as we welcome a guest speaker from the Jewish Federation of St. Joseph Valley for this special storytime! We will listen to a story about Passover and learn about the traditions surrounding this special holiday. Adult caregivers must remain in the room. Registration required.

Passport Pals Virtual via Zoom | Mon., April 25 4:30-5 p.m. | Ages 4-8 Ready to travel the world? During this fun and informative session, you’ll learn all about countries from around the world. Craft, activity and recipe resources will be provided so you can experience a little bit of the country from home. This month we’re visiting New Zealand! Registration required. My College Planning Team: Insider’s Guide on the College Planning Process Virtual via Zoom | Thurs. April 14 7-8 p.m. | Teens & Adults MPHPL is partnering once again with My College Planning Team. This workshop focuses on the financial strategies that families can use to afford college and how the new FAFSA® rules will impact them. Families will learn how to compare the net price of college instead of the sticker price and other important college planning techniques. Registration required.

Teens in grades six to 12 are invited to share their ideas, opinions and skills with the Teen Advisory Group. MPHPL wants your input on events, services and books for teens in the community. Fabulous Foodies Mishawaka Library/Virtual via Zoom Tues., April 26 | 6:30-7:15 p.m. | Adults Looking for new dishes to try or looking to add to your weekly meal rotation? Join us to talk all things food and swap recipes. Participants will be given a recipe organizer, learn about different dishes and receive new recipes. An Incomplete History of St. Joseph County Mishawaka Library | Thurs., April 28 6:30-7:30 p.m. | Adults We will welcome guest speaker and local author, cyclist and adventurer, Aaron Helman to tell his story of 12 epic bike rides spanning over 500 miles. Together, we will learn the history of the towns, cities, rivers, industries, and commerce that have made St. Joseph County what it is today. No registration required.

Do you enjoy magic and mystery? Join us for illusions and more with Kevin Wilson of Abracadabra Magic. Children will also get to meet his special helper, Oreo the rabbit. Free tickets are required and will be available at the Youth Services Desk of the location that you wish to attend beginning Monday, March 21.
