Mt. Eliza walked away with a 50-point win over Bonbeachlastweekastheyeyeoffyetanotherseason in finals contention whilst Sorrento were in a backand-forth matchup with Langwarrin before breaking awayinthefourthquartertorecorda6-goalvictory.

Sorrento’s midfield of Chad Harris, Shannon Gladman and James Hallahan were dominant last week as they steered their side to their 7th win of the season and their first since Round 10. Hallahan was the standout for Leigh Poholke’s men last week, with the explosive midfielder gathering 31 dipsosals, 6 clearances and 2 goals in a masterful display. If Hallahan and company can replicate their Round 15 performances here, there isnoreasontobelievethatSorrentocannotwalkaway withthewinthisSaturday.

Mt. Eliza had winners all over the field last weekend, withNicBobGirolami,MitchSmithandTrentMatthews all starring for the Redlegs on their march towards finals.CaptainNathanScagliariniisoneofthein-form players in the competition at the moment as he continuedhishotrecentrunofform.Scagliarinihad40 disposals, 8 inside 50s, 14 clearances, 10 tackles and a goal in one of the best individual displays of the season. Sorrento will need to curtail the influence of Scagliariniiftheyaretowinthiscontestandkeeptheir hopesofappearinginthisyearsfinalsseriesalive.

LangwarrinvsDromana

Dromana were able to stave off a lively Frankston Bombers outfit last week to record their 15th win on thetrotastheycontinuetheirmarchtowardsfinals footy. As for Langwarrin, they were blown away in thefinalquarteroftheirclashagainstSorrentolast week, going down by 6 goals in a disappointing resultfortheRoos.

Midfielder Zach Andrewartha’s extraordinary season continues as the prolific ball winner collectedanother35possessions,10clearancesand a goal to help nearly drag his side to an important victory. Over Sorrento Matthew Naughton was dominantintheruckfortheRooslastweekandwill need to be at his best against Dromana if Langwarrin are to cause a huge upset. Chad Mulvouge, Joel Bateman and Luke Churcher were also solid in defeat last week as they look to finish off the 2023 with a bang as they host an intimidatingDromanalineup.

Midfielders Jake Aarts, Sam Fletcher and Billy QuigleyweredominantovertheFrankstonBombers, combining for 105 disposals, 21 clearances and 3 goals in a commanding display over a very strong Bombers side.
