When did your love of golf start? What was your professional path to Myers Park CC?

Oddly enough, I did not grow up playing golf, I picked up the game during my sophomore year of high school I did so mainly to spend more time with my grandfather who I credit with introducing me to the game My first job, my current job, and every job in between has been service and hospitality related I was born and raised in Northwestern Pennsylvania in a small town and attended Coastal Carolina University for my education Upon graduation, I was awarded the opportunity to join the professional staff at Sage Valley Golf Club, a club dedicated to offering a service and experience that is unique, world-class, and one you simply cannot get anywhere else This opened my eyes to what this business is all about- people connecting with one another through unparalleled experiences After two years at Sage Valley I joined the professional staff at Sea Island Golf Club, where I served as the First Assistant Golf Professional for two years during which I married my best friend and wife, Tara Over the past seven years I served as the Head Golf Professional at Old Chatham Golf Club outside of Raleigh, NC During my journey I have been able to work for some of the industry’s best and know that their guidance, coupled with my unique experiences, will serve me well in my new role here at Myers Park Country Club

Tell us about your cute family!

My wife (Tara) and I met through mutual friends during my tenure at Sage Valley Tara was born and raised in Aiken, South Carolina where most of her family still resides Although neither of us were looking for a long-term commitment at the time, we met in August 2014, I proposed in April 2015, and we got married in St Simons Island, GA in November 2015 I guess when you know, you know Tara and I rescued a Labrador Retriever (Heinz) in 2017, and welcomed our first child, a girl (Maggie) just this past November We could not b i d j i h f il d i h M P k d

Favorites: golfer, NFL team, college football team, food, etc.

My favorite golfer of all time is Tiger Woods, he transformed the game in every sense, and I am thankful for his impact on the game, the business, and the industry as a whole

My wife and I enjoy going out to eat and find ourselves more often than not eating Mexican and Italian when we do so

Being a native of Northwestern Pennsylvania, I am a die-hard Steelers, Pirates, and Penguins fan (Black and Yellow all the way) and have grown to love the Carolina Hurricanes, having spent seven years in Raleigh When my father was young he attended basketball camp at the University of North Carolina when Dean Smith was the Head Coach He fell in love with Coach Smith and all that he stood for and has loved the Heels and brainwashed all of us to follow suit Go Heels!

What are you most excited for at MPCC/ Charlotte in general?

I have always said that I want to work for and surround myself with good people While interviewing for the position, I did a great amount of due diligence on the Club and the position itself In a resounding way, everyone I encountered spoke so highly of all the people (staff, members, community) here at Myers Park Also, with my wife being from Aiken, SC, our desire was to stay in the southeast and near one of the main metropolitan areas in the Carolinas with Charlotte always being at the top of the list There was a certain caliber of club in our desired areas that I was looking to be a part of, with Myers Park being right at the top of our list

y wife and I have recently gotten into wine and took our first trip to Napa alley in the fall of 2022 We have enjoyed trying different wines, varietals, and neyards, and have grown our collection of wines since the trip

grew up playing basketball and had some opportunities to play at a small ollegiate level in western Pennsylvania Ultimately, I decided to come south for hool During our time in Raleigh, I played in a Rec league at the local YMCA lso, when I was younger, I took six years of piano lessons and learned how to ad music while doing so
