Purpose
2025 Junior Golf Program
Purpose, Vision & Mission
To provide Myers Park members’ and their guests’ children with programs to help them grow in golf and promote a lifelong love of the game.
Vision
Our vision is to see all members of the Junior Program develop their knowledge of the game and have fun playing golf while abiding by the Rules of the Club and Game, Pace of Play guidelines, and gaining knowledge of the USGA rules, etiquette and protocols.
Mission
The mission of the Junior Golf Program is to attract, maintain and grow all members of the program (ages 4-17) in the game. The following components are essential in the mission of the program:
Establish and maintain enjoyment of the game.
Teach the fundamentals of putting, short game and full swing, ageappropriate manner that is progressive in nature.
Develop a proper understanding of the rules, etiquette and all golf-related protocol while establishing character values.
Provide appropriate competitions and play days organized by age and gender. Have mandatory parent involvement at all events until the young players reach a certified skill level.
For those who compete at a higher level, encourage them by recognizing their accomplishments throughout the club.
Provide opportunities for children and parents to enjoy golf and golf-related activities as part of the overall member experience at the Club.

Cost:$20perclass|OnlineRegistrationOnly
Bytappingthecreativeandcompetitivespiritofgirlsandboysages7-15,Drive,ChipandPuttprovidesaspiringjunior golfersanopportunitytoplaywiththeirpeersinqualifiersaroundthecountry.Participantswhoadvancethroughlocal, sub-regionalandregionalqualifyingineachage/gendercategoryearnaplaceintheNationalFinals,whichisconducted atAugustaNationalGolfClubtheSundaybeforetheMastersTournamentandisbroadcastlivebyGolfChannel. Theseclinicswillfocusonpreparingourjuniorsfortheopportunitytocompeteinlocalqualifiers.

Weareexcitedtoofferthisprogramtotheclubwhichprovidesyourchildtheopportunitytoexperienceafunand engaginglearningenvironment.Beforetheregistrationwindowopens,weencourageyoutofamiliarizeyourselfwiththe programandallitentails.
DressCode
Allplayersaretowear“GolfAttire”.Collaredshirtsarerequiredforboys.Golfshoesarenotrequired,sneakersare acceptable.
DropOff/CheckIn
Foreachpractice,weaskthatyoudropoffandpickupyourkidsatthelowerputtinggreennearthemainpracticetee behindtheSportsComplex.Onscheduledmatchdays,wewillmeetatthebagdropforteetimedirections.
Forthefirstdayofclass,afterdroppingyourkidsoffforpractice,weaskthatyoucheckintheGolfShoptopaytuition ifyouhavenotdonesoalready.Paymentoptionsincludecreditcardormembercharge.
InclementWeather
Intheeventthereislightrainduringpracticeorplayonthecourse,wewillcontinuetoholdclassandmoveforward withthematch.Pleasebepreparedtohaveyourkidspracticeandplayinlightrain.Ifthereislightningorheavyrainfall, wewillbeforcedtorescheduleclassandthematch.Wewillreachouttotheparentstoreschedulewhenthatoccurs.
EventDays
Duringthe6-weeksemester,wewillhavetwoon-coursematchesforthekidstoplayin.Thesearetheir“tests”where theycanadvanceandshowimprovementintheprogram.Wewillmakegroupsof3-4playerswithteetimesinthe afternoonhoursoneachofthesedates.
Ifyouhavespecialrequestsforteetimesonmatchdays,pleasereachouttoTylerLucasinadvanceandwewilldoour besttoaccommodate.Pairingsforeachmatchwillbecommunicatedviaemailthedayprior.
MatchFormat
Matchesare9-holestrokeplayeventswheretheplayersarecompetingagainst“Par”.Inthiscase,paris36,andifaplayer scores36orless,theywilllevelupandmoveontothenextdivision.AllplayersstarttheprogramfromDivision1. Progressisneverlost.Whenaplayerpassesadivision,he/sheneverreturntoit.Parentsareaskedtocaddiefortheirkids andwilltakeagolfcarttoassistwithtrasnportingthegroupfromoneholetothenext,helpingwithpaceofplay.
