It is our mission to provide isolated homebound older adults with nutritious meals, daily human contact, and supportive services to prevent their premature institutionalization.
For over 50 years, Meals on Wheels San Francisco has been a lifeline for older adults and homebound individuals, delivering more than just nutritious meals—we provide dignity, connection, and support to those who need it most. Our mission is rooted in the belief that no senior should go hungry or feel isolated, and we work tirelessly to ensure that our community’s most vulnerable members receive daily nourishment, safety checks, and companionship. With the help of dedicated staff, volunteers, and supporters, we serve thousands of San Franciscans each year, allowing them to age with independence and security in their own homes.
Meals on Wheels San Francisco proudly serves a diverse population of older adults, individuals with disabilities, and those facing food insecurity across San Francisco. The people we support often live alone, on fixed incomes, and with limited access to family or other forms of assistance. Many struggle with mobility challenges or chronic health conditions, making it difficult to shop for or prepare meals. Our services go beyond meal delivery—we provide social connection, wellness programs, and additional resources to address the complex needs of our clients. By delivering more than 2.5 million meals annually, we ensure that every recipient has access to the nutrition and care they need to live healthier, more independent lives.

Our team worked tirelessly to innovate, introducing culturally tailored meal options, enhancing delivery logistics, and strengthening partnerships that allow us to reach more people than ever before. Every meal delivered represents a moment of care, reminding our seniors that they are not alone.
Our work is far from finished. The challenges of affordability, health disparities, and isolation persist, but so does our determination to meet them head-on. As we look ahead, we
