MM Projects in Nepal – proposals for 2011/2012 Bupsa Monastery Hostel £12,000.00 We have built the monastery and repaired the wall surrounding it, and we have put 10 children through Buddhist school and paid for a lama. The options now are to bring in more young people from further afield to learn Buddhism, for which they need accommodation. Cooking stoves with back boilers £5640.00 For every house in Bupsa to have hot water and a stove which uses less wood. The Govt subsidises this by 4000Rs per stove. We did this project in Bumburi and it has been very successful, reducing illnesses and making a substantial difference to tree cutting.

Bumburi Community Hall £16,000 For community functions and visitors. This would be used for all occasions such as weddings, district meetings and festivals, of which there are many. It would attract many people from other villages, bringing business to Bumburi. August/Sept 2011 – Bristol RAG Reserve Tank for HEP £3000 A reserve water tank for the dry season. Over the years the villagers have noticed that the forward tank can run dry, so this 20’x20’ tank is a reserve which feeds the forward tank. April 2011 – part of Bristol RAG donation from 2010 Repair of Forward Tank for HEP £1750 The old tank built in 2005 needs repaired. The inside of the tank has cracked and the entire tank needs reconcreted. April 2011 – part of Bristol RAG donation from 2010 Tea Processor £750 A unit to cut and prepare tea leaves, and bag them in order to sell in markets. We already have a tea dryer and the villagers have been growing tea for three years. Now the bushes are mature and the tea is ready to harvest and sell. April 2011 – MM donation Clinic est £12,000 A clinic in the village for the whole area which would provide employment and bring people to Bumburi regularly. The hospital at Khari Khola is unused. This figure does not include all the fittings and the salary of a Dr which would be expensive. Total cost of projects

£51,140.00
