A warm Trungle Parc welcome this morning to everyone associated with Helston Athletic, and of course all our regular and new supporters and hopefully lots of other people coming to see how these two great West Cornwall clubs match up. Elsewhere in this programme, you'll read this is the fourth encounter between the clubs this season, with one Cup win each and a draw in the league. May the better side win today! Our last home match (against Bitton) was an important day for Mousehole AFC. We paid a special tribute to Malcolm ’Megs’ Brown for his massive contribution to the running of the club over an amazing six decades. Proceeds from gate money and donations enabled us to send several hundred £ to the Dementia UK charity. Megs’ family and several former players were at the match. Family member Nina sent us this message: “It was a lovely afternoon - thank-you for all your hospitality. The club is looking magnificent - Dad would be very proud of all the work that has gone into the grounds.” Don't forget the Development Team are in action here this afternoon. And the First team are here on Monday afternoon against Ashton & Backwell United - the last home match of an incredible season that has exceeded all expectations.

MANAGER'S MESSAGE Jake Ash
After the disappointment of last weekend (2-2 draw away at Wellington), today couldn’t come around quickly enough. Last Saturday was such a strange game - we were so dominant and comfortable in the first half, but lost our way in the second and Wellington really went for it they have impressed me in both games, especially with how they play and their attacking players. That said, we have had a really good chance this week to look at what went wrong and to address it. I am hoping today will be totally different to the League game at Helston a few weeks ago. On the night we were really poor and it was a terrible spectacle from my viewpoint. I am really confident that the boys will put on a performance today and it will be a much better watch. Regardless of what happens today, the team and club have to remember what has been achieved this season. Whatever happens, the club will finish as the second highest placed team in the whole County in the footballing pyramid. That is a massive achievement and huge credit to everyone at the club who works so hard to make this place as special as it is.
