CHAIRMAN'S THOUGHTS DERYK HEYWOOD We welcome to Trungle Parc everyone connected with Exmouth Town, all our loyal supporters and hardworking volunteers, our Youth players here to mark Mousehole Youth Day, and hopefully many other visitors on 'national non-league day' - with a great match in prospect at the top of the Western League Premier Division. You'll see evidence of continuing ground improvements - extra spectator covered seating, an extension to the Solomon Browne Stand, new stadium fencing, and early work on the new access road at the back of the car park. On top of this, we have just been awarded an F ground grading (for Step 5). Congratulations to Steve Burt on his 250th appearance for the club. Amazingly, Burtie started with Mousehole eight seasons ago in 2013/14! Next Saturday's home match (2nd April v Bitton) has been dedicated "Megs Day" in recognition of former Seagulls stalwart Malcolm Brown, who had many roles over a 60-year period at the club. MANAGER'S MESSAGE FROM JAKE ASH
I’m massively looking forward to today’s game. Not only because of how we played in the second half last week (at Buckland Athletic), but also because we weren’t at our best at Exmouth Town earlier in the month..... and we all want to put that right. The second-half performance last Saturday tells you an awful lot about these players - that was all down to them, and how they applied themselves after the half-time team discussion. They were oustanding - it was a real joy to watch. We will need to play like that again today to get anything from the game. Whatever happens, there will no doubt still be lots of twists and turns over the coming weeks. So we have to keep doing what we believe in, and see where that takes us. Enjoy today's game. Jake

EXMOUTH TOWN HISTORY
The club was formed in 1933, playing home games on Maer Cricket Field. They moved to their current Southern Road home in 1964. After many successful seasons in the Devon & Exeter League they joined the Western League in 1973. Promoted to the Premier Division after finishing Runners-Up of Division One in1981-82, they won the Premier Division in 1983-84 and again in 1985-86. Other Western League honours include League Cup winners 1989-90, Premier Division RunnersUp (twice) and Sportsman Trophy (twice). Cup success included winning the Devon St Lukes Bowl (three times), Devon Senior Cup, Devon Premier Cup (twice) and in 1984-85 they reached the Semi- Final of the FA Vase, narrowly losing to Fleetwood Town by the odd goal over the two games. During this period the Club installed floodlights and hosted many matches against Football League sides. On the 28 July 1987 they recorded their highest home attendance of 2,395 for a match against Liverpool. The success of the Eighties was not repeated during the Nineties and the Club was relegated after the 1993-94 season. They gained promotion back to the Premier Division for the 2003-04 season but regrettably had to withdraw from the Western League during 2005. On the 1st August 2006 the Club reformed as Exmouth Town (2006) AFC, playing in the Devon & Exeter League. At the end of the season they were promoted into Division One (East) of the newly formed South West Peninsula League, a step 7 league in the national pyramid system. The club won the East Division in the 2012-13 season losing only one league game. They also won the Devon Premier Cup and reached the semi-final of the SWP League Cup. Having achieved promotion to the SWPL Premier Division, the side finished runners-up in season 2013-14. Consolidating their position as a Premier Division side they finished eighth in season 2014/15 and twelfth in 2015/16. Season 2016/17 saw further improvement when they not only finished fifth in the League but also reached the finals of the League Cup and the Devon St Luke’s Bowl and the last 16 of the FA Vase. In 2018/19 they finished league runners-up, winning 13 and drawing two of their games played in 2019, and were promoted to the Western League Premier Division. The 2019/20 season brought highlights in the FA Cup with victories over Southern League sides Barnstaple and Yate Town. When the season was brought to a premature end due to the coronavirus pandemic Town were well placed in fifth position having extended their unbeaten home record dating back to December 2018.
