GOLF DAY A WINNER Industry leaders, community stakeholders and golf enthusiasts came together to enjoy a day on the green and make a difference to the lives of children with autism at the 2015 Mounties Group Charity Golf Day on 11 December. Mounties Group President, Kevin Ingram, presented a cheque for $35,000 to the recipient charity, the Autism Advisory and Support Service (AASS), following the successful day. The donation brought about much Christmas cheer to AASS, a charity organisation that supports hundreds of families that have a child or children with autism in the Liverpool area and beyond. Grace Fava, Founder and President of AASS, said: “We’re incredibly grateful for the support of Mounties Group. These funds will make an incredible difference to the local children and teenagers we work with. “Autism is still misunderstood by many people, and often autistic children and their parents feel isolated from their friends and the wider

community. We hope that events like the Mounties Group Charity Golf Day will help raise awareness and understanding of autism,” Ms Fava added. The action-packed day was hosted by Liverpool Golf Club and featured special guest appearances by Australian Long Drive Champion, Mark Bylsma and female golfer Kura Poko; a graduate of the Mounties Junior Golf Program at Liverpool who is about to take up a golf scholarship in the United States. Darryl Brohman aka ‘The Big Marn’ from The Footy Show entertained guests at the post-golf lunch. Thanks to major partner Scientific Games and the additional 30 corporate partners who sponsored various holes, provided all-important beverages on the day and supplied auction items and prizes that made the generous donation possible. FROM 5:30PM Each day, 34 Australians will be given the devastating news that they have leukaemia, lymphoma or myeloma, and they’ll turn to The Leukaemia Foundation for help. Each March, more than 150,000 people will get sponsored to shave or colour their hair to support Australians with blood cancer and fund research. Each year, Harbord Diggers’ hosts our World’s Greatest Shave event, to support those getting involved and raise awareness. It is always one of our highlights of the year; as we watch brave men, women and children come together to colour or shave their hair for this important event.
We are extremely grateful to our local hairdressers, Cassidys, who generously support this worthy cause each year. Cassidys provide a team of dedicated professional hairdressers on the night of the event who expertly shave or spray those who have signed up. Mounties Group were able to donate over $20,000 last year as a result of World’s Greatest Shave fundraising.
