BUILDING OUR LEGACY Main building works have now started on the new Harbord Diggers, with excavation work taking place on our multi-storey club carpark and development of our new club building underway.

HARBORD DIGGERS TOASTMASTERS SHAPING LIVES FOR 45 YEARS Many of us fear public speaking more than death, but Harbord Diggers Toastmasters Club has been turning timid speakers into fearless communicators for 45 years.

In December 1970 a group of 31 Freshwater locals recognised a need to improve their skills and formed a new Club, which was hosted by Harbord Diggers - where it has been meeting every month for the past 45 years.

Harbord Diggers Toastmasters celebrated this milestone 45th anniversary at a celebration dinner where the club’s longest serving member, Margaret Murphy was the guest of honour. Margaret has been a member of Harbord Diggers for 27 years.

Harbord Diggers Toastmasters provides a supportive and positive environment where members have the opportunity to increase their confidence, build critical thinking skills and become effective listeners.

Club President, Renee Salaverry read a letter of congratulations from the President of Toastmasters International in the United States who wrote:

This club meets on the 1st and 3rd Tuesday of the month at 7pm at Harbord Diggers. Harbord Diggers also hosts a Daytime Toastmaster Club which meets on the first, third and fifth Thursday of the month at 10am. Visitors are always welcome.
