Planning for a perfect wedding From a young age, many girls start to dream of meeting their Prince Charming and waltzing down the aisle to a perfect wedding. Little girls dress up in fancy gowns and teeter on high heels as they imagine a fairytale wedding. A 2015 survey by weddingbells.ca compiled some interesting information: — An estimated 160,324 wedding ceremonies were planned last year. — The average Canadian bride is 30 years old. — December is the most popular time for engagements, with 20 per cent of men popping the question during this month. — The most popular month for weddings is August (23 per cent). Sixty-seven per cent of weddings take place between June and September. — Fourteen per cent of Canadians plan destination weddings abroad. — The average number of wedding guests is 129. — More than one in four women had chosen their wedding ring before becoming engaged, and 89 per cent had input on what the ring cost. — The expected cost of a wedding and honeymoon is about $31,000. Planning a wedding can be overwhelming, but can also be great fun. The key is to be organized.
