Round 2 Schedule
ASBK PREVIEW
The 2022 mi-bike Motorcycle Insurance Australian Superbike Championships, presented by Motul is shaping up as another year of intense and close racing.
The season will run over eight rounds, including a return to Darwin for the ASBK Superbike class with V8 Supercars.
The tour expands with two other circuits added to the high horsepower Circus with the first ASBK round at Queensland Raceway since 2014 - making it two rounds in the Sunshine State (with Morgan Park in August) for season 2022. In October, the championship heads down to Symmons Plains (Tas) for the first visit to the Apple Isle since 2015.
The season again rounds off at The Bend Motorsport Park (SA) in early December and while that’s a while off, there’s still plenty of excitement and discussions about the final round after the wide ranging impact that MotoGP winner, Jack Miller had with his surprise appearance. Will he return if the date aligns? Will other overseas stars take part? We sure hope so.
Wayne Maxwell is in the form of his career in his quest for a hat-trick of Aussie titles and become the first rider of the modern era to claim four ASBK titles.
The ASBK will have plenty of support action, including the Michelin Supersport class, Dunlop Supersport 300 / Yamaha Finance R3 Cup and the new generation racers from Motorcycling Australia’s premier junior road racing academy, the bLU cRU Oceania Junior Cup.
The action and excitement doesn’t end on the track, as fans have the chance to meet their favourite riders and grab an autograph, while kids can get introduced to motorbike riding at bLU cRU Mini Moto Experience which is free for kids to Come n Try!
