IT’S ALL HAPPENING…

April was a landmark month for Abu Dhabi’s dining, leisure, and entertainment scene, with the 2025 edition of the What’s On Abu Dhabi Awards taking centre stage on Yas Island. We rolled out the pink carpet for the best in the business, joined by over 600 incredible guests who’ve helped elevate the industry to new heights. Flip to our cover story (p14) for the full lowdown.

May, on the other hand, is heating up – literally and figuratively. Yes, the mercury is heading towards 40°C, but we’re also talking about the return of rock legends Guns N’ Roses (p24) to the Etihad Arena, exactly two years since their last UAE show. And just as you’re peeling off that final May calendar page, in steps Frankfurt-born maestro Hans Zimmer (p50), bringing his soul-stirring soundtracks to life with two monumental performances. Whether it’s the chaos of The Dark Knight, epic sci-fi odysseys, or the golden dunes of Liwa that come to mind – he’ll be conducting cinematic memories that hit you right in the feels.

Also debuting this month is Abu Dhabi Comedy Season (p48), a first-of-its-kind celebration of stand-up in the capital, promising big laughs and bigger names through to July.

Back in February, I mentioned the winds of change. While we’ve experienced a timelapse of seasons since, those very gusts have continued to sweep through the What’s On world, with one of the brand’s finest, Miles, moving on after five years of introducing the UAE to some of the wittiest, coolest, most evocative copy in the industry. He also leaves a legacy at the What’s On offices, reminding us day in and day out that it is, indeed, possible to charm your way through the ebbs and flows of life.

Yours creatively,

We want you to enjoy Abu Dhabi like only we know how – we’re talking brunch extravaganzas, epic staycations and summer libations. How? Simple. From 10am to brunch time, you’ll also have free and discounted access to some of the hotel’s partners. Think massages, watersports activities, blow-dries and manicures for the ladies or beard trims for the lads, plus a pre-brunch workout and more to get ready for the day ahead…

The votes are in for the 2025 What’s On Abu Dhabi Awards. These are the city’s best restaurants, bars, spas and events, as chosen by you

RESTAURANT OF THE YEAR

Butcher & Still

Whether it’s the signature 1200g Tomahawk, the decadent 34-layer Tribune Tower cake, or the elusive Gatsby Gold, Chef Marshall Roth’s Prohibition-era steakhouse on Al Maryah Island has quickly become a standout in Abu Dhabi’s dining scene. Evoking the glamour of 1920s Chicago, it offers a transportive experience – right down to its secretive, subterranean private room, The Hideaway.

NEWCOMER OF THE YEAR

THE BIG ONES

CHEF OF THE YEAR

Hassana El Baroudi

Born and raised in Beirut, this culinary talent brings a fresh, modern twist to traditional Lebanese flavours. With roots in a foodie family and formal training from KICA and École Ducasse-ENSP, she now leads the kitchen at Abu Dhabi’s Mosaic Restaurant and several sister brands. Her menus celebrate Levantine heritage with a contemporary edge, serving up some of the tastiest, healthiest, and most comforting bites in the city. Authentic yet inventive, she continues to elevate Middle Eastern cuisine in the UAE capital.

When a farm-raised Aussie restaurateur teamed up with this palatial UAE address, culinary magic was inevitable. Less than a year in, guests leave raving about “one of the best meals” of their lives. With showstopping interiors, sevenstar flair, the bold flavours of Warayaki cooking, and the world’s largest Shimenawa rope, this vibrant, one-ofa-kind dining destination is as unforgettable as it is unmissable.

HOMEGROWN RESTAURANT OF THE YEAR

Desert Lotus

This cosy bistro blends the bold flavours of Thai and Japanese cuisine with a generous dose of heart. From classic pad Thai and tom yum soup to fresh sushi rolls and sizzling teppanyaki, every dish comes with a side of sea views. Founded by Chef Bua – whose culinary journey began after an earthquake in Nepal inspired her to cook for relief efforts – the restaurant thrives on passion and community. With interactive touches like sushi-making and teppanyaki classes, it’s no wonder we’re proud to crown it Homegrown Restaurant of the Year.

Guns, roses, and everything in between as the biggest rock band on the planet storms the capital

Words: Dinesh Ramanathan

It’s often believed that two years marks a full circle. Two-year plans, two-year transformations, two-year sentences. Whether that has anything to do with touring or not, is anyone’s guess – but right on cue, Axl Rose & Co. are back, bringing their bulletproof rock songbook to Abu Dhabi exactly two years since their last foot-stomping blowout in the desert.

Yes, sweet child – it’s happening again. On Tuesday, May 27, the Etihad Arena will trade air-conditioned civility for fullthrottle chaos, as Guns N’ Roses returns to unleash a no-holds-barred, riff-soaked set of their greatest hits.

While Abu Dhabi’s entertainment calendar has already served up its fair share of megawatt names this year, this just might be the capital’s final massive gig before the city hits pause for the summer. But fret not, because GNR will be amping things up.

What’s All the Noise

About?

Formed in 1985 in the wild heart of Los Angeles, Guns N’ Roses exploded onto the scene with a raw, turbo-charged fusion of hard rock, punk sneer and glam-metal swagger. Their debut album, Appetite for Destruction, landed in 1987 like a Molotov cocktail – spawning timeless anthems like Welcome to the Jungle, Sweet Child O’ Mine, and Paradise City. It became the bestselling debut album of all time in the US.

At their core, Guns N’ Roses have always embodied beautiful, brutal contradiction. The volatile genius of Axl Rose, the effortless cool of Slash, the tight, driving rhythm section – all wrapped in a storm of excess, ego and electricity. They didn’t just play rock. They lived it – loudly, recklessly, and unapologetically.

Through meteoric rises, infamous feuds, years-long silences, and a landmark 2016 reunion tour that broke global records, Guns N’ Roses have carved their place in the rock pantheon. Not quite grunge, not just glam – they’re the gritty, guitarshredding outlaws that simply refuse to fade.

Still the

Real Thing

So why does a Guns N’ Roses concert remain bucket-list-worthy in 2025? Because when it comes to live music, they deliver the full package – lock, headstock and barrel. Axl may not sprint like he used to, but his voice still cuts through the noise. Slash still rips like a man possessed. And the atmosphere? It’s pure electricity. No gimmicks, no backing tracks – just a wall of sound and a crowd ready to scream along to every word. It’s an experience that transcends generations. Whether you’ve been airguitaring to November Rain since the ‘90s or just discovered Don’t Cry on a vintage playlist, there’s something unmistakably epic about watching these tunes come to life on stage.

Expect two hours of face-melting solos, cathartic singalongs, and raw, unfiltered rock – the kind that rattles your chest and reminds you why this genre will never die.

JUKEBOX: Know Before You Go

Whether you’re brushing up or starting fresh, here are five must-know tracks to get you primed for May 27

1 Welcome to the Jungle (Appetite for Destruction, 1987)

Feral, iconic, instantly recognisable. The song that announces: “You’re not in Kansas anymore.”

2 Sweet Child O’ Mine (Appetite for Destruction, 1987)

The singalong. The solo. The moment the entire arena becomes one voice.

3 Paradise City (Appetite for Destruction, 1987) It starts like a sunset drive, ends like a fistfight in a dive bar. Rock perfection.

4 Knockin’ on Heaven’s Door (Bob Dylan cover, 1990) Covered by many, owned by GNR. The kind of slow-burn anthem that hits different live.

5 Don’t Cry (Use Your Illusion I, 1991)

Every rock band has one heartbreaker that fans hold close. This is theirs.

THREE PARENTING

HACKS (a.k.a. how to make it through the road trip without losing your mind)

1. Give them a job. Gift your kids a disposable camera and let them be the official family photographer. Zero screen time. Major impact.

2. Forget three square meals. Road trip parenting is all about the grazing. Think snack boxes, fruit, crackers, and treats for bribery.

3. Put a “just in case”

kit in the boot. Wet wipes, spare outfits, water bottles, towels, tissues, extra snacks, first aid essentials and blankets.

AND REMEMBER: No matter where you’re heading, the real win is in the little moments, whether that’s singing in the car, spotting camels out the window, or sitting on a rock eating ice cream together. Let the schedule be flexible, manage your expectations low and keep the snack game high.

FAHID BEACH CLUB BY BARBOSSA

Sun, sand, and marvellous Mexican fare...

In Abu Dhabi, we love our islands. All 200 of them. That said, a few have dominated the headlines more than most. When you’re talking thrills, it’s Yas Island. For housing, it’s Al Reem. The best beaches in the region, it’s Saadiyat. The list goes on.

But chances are you’ll have caught US celebrity Steve Harvey and his signature grin in a new commercial by Al Dar Properties. In the video, he tells a motorboat skipper to “Follow those kites!” before landing on Fahid Island.

Here’s a closer look at Fahid Beach Club by Barbossa. It’s been in town less than six months and it’s making waves, by the waves.

GETTING THERE

(they’re sticklers about timing – miss your 15-minute window and you’ll be watching someone else live your best beach life). Parking’s ample, the vibe starts before you’ve even kicked off your flip-flops, and check-in is swift.

FIRST FEEL

From the moment you step through, it’s barefoot luxury done right. The beach bar’s humming with sun-soaked beats, the sand is white, the water an almostfiltered turquoise. There’s no pool, but when the sea looks like this, who needs one?

THE EXPERIENCE

Dogs are welcome until 7pm, kids until 6pm – so, basically, the whole crew’s covered. It’s a chill hangout without being too scene-y, and everything runs smooth as an ice-cold margarita.

Day passes start from Dhs150 (fully redeemable), with themed nights like Ladies’ Night every Friday from 9pm, and an increasingly buzzy weekend crowd. And the food? Three sleek Barbossabranded trucks serve the kind of Mexican comfort you’d expect from the Yas Bay brunch champs. Truffle fries, nachos (Dhs65), poke bowls (Dhs65) – all done fast, fresh, and flavourful.

OUR THOUGHTS

Can you sip chilled brut while watching the sun dip over a Maldivian-looking bay? Absolutely. Might you spot a crab scuttling past your toes as you wade in? Very likely. Is this the beach day Abu Dhabi didn’t know it needed? Without a doubt.

WHAT’S ON VERDICT

It’s right off Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Street, when you’re city bound from Yas Island/Dubai. Reservations are a must

Interiors give rustic boho meets understated glam. Whether you grab a cabana, perch at the bar, or just sprawl seaside, it’s got the kind of effortless cool that the Abu Dhabi crowd adore.

PROJECT BRUNCH AT THE TERRACE ON THE CORNICHE

Should this be your next weekend project?

Brunch is a tough one in the capital. Or an easy one, depending on how you look at things. We’re constantly in search of a slice of Saturday indulgence that goes beyond the typical brunch experience, and that’s exactly what the Project Brunch at The Terrace on the Corniche delivers: great food, better service, and an almost theatrical experience that combines global cuisine, St. Regis-level class, and Abu Dhabi-esque elegance in a true celebratory odyssey.

Regis Abu Dhabi’s premier dining spots, The Terrace on the Corniche. In signature St. Regis fashion, this is one of those breathtakingly beautiful venues, set by one of Abu Dhabi’s most cherished areas.

Once you’ve taken in the views, make your way to a buffet that hosts a plethora of international dishes. If you’ve dined at the St. Regis Abu Dhabi before, chances are you’ve encountered their peerlessly opulent seafood display – there’s a reason diners voted this hotel home to the best seafood in town.

If you’re a fan of getting hands-on with your beverages, this is the place. Their “Infusion Innovators” let you do just that –try your hand at crafting your own cocktail or mocktail come brunchtime.

And finally, when it’s time to end on a sweet note, there’s no shortage of grandeur either. Guests are guided to The Library, where you’re spoiled for choice with a stunning selection of pastries, rich chocolate varieties, and other beautifully created (and presented) desserts. The focus is on quality as much as presentation – a balance that’s harder to achieve than many would like to admit.

From the moment we arrive, something tells us this won’t be just another weekend brunch. You’re welcomed with a stylish cocktail reception at The St. Regis Bar, complete with a luxe cheese buffet and carefully crafted welcome drinks – setting the tone for a sophisticated afternoon in the capital.

You’re then guided to one of the St.

On his wife:

“I can’t argue with my wife, because she’s always right. And when she’s wrong, she’s still right!”

CULTURE // HANS ZIMMER

THE MAESTRO BEHIND THE MUSIC

How Hans Zimmer became a global music phenomenon

Hans Zimmer’s name is synonymous with cinematic excellence. From The Lion King to Inception and Dune, Zimmer’s scores have not only shaped the sound of modern cinema but also changed how we experience film music. But his journey to becoming one of the most influential composers of all time wasn’t instantaneous. It was shaped by passion, creativity, and a willingness to push the boundaries of music capabilities.

From Germany to Hollywood

Born in Frankfurt, Germany, in 1957, Hans Zimmer’s introduction to music was far from traditional. His parents didn’t initially support his artistic ambitions, encouraging him to pursue more conventional career paths. Zimmer, however, was drawn to the arts from a young age. He began playing piano as a child, and although he wasn’t formally trained in music, he was drawn to the idea of creating sounds in new and unconventional ways.

Zimmer’s early musical influences were a mix of classical music and the new wave of electronic music that emerged in the 1970s. This dual interest in traditional composition and the potential of synthesizers would later become a hallmark of his sound. After moving to London in the late 1970s, he started working as a session musician and quickly transitioned to composing music for commercials. It was during this time that he began experimenting with synthesizers and electronic music, creating sounds that were fresh and innovative.

MAY 31 AND JUNE 1

The Breakthrough

Zimmer’s big break came in the late 1980s when he was approached by British director Adrian Lyne to compose the score for The Last Emperor (1987). Though Zimmer’s work was not featured prominently in the film, the experience opened doors for him in Hollywood. His real breakthrough came in 1988 when he was asked to compose the score for Rain Man, directed by Barry Levinson. The film, starring Dustin Hoffman and Tom Cruise, was a massive success, and Zimmer’s minimalist score, which blended traditional orchestral elements with electronic textures, caught the attention of the film industry.

Zimmer’s innovative use of synthesizers in Rain Man marked a turning point in his career. It showcased his ability to combine traditional film scoring with modern technology, and it set the stage for the types of projects he would take on in the future. His work on Rain Man earned him his first Academy Award nomination, a nod to the growing recognition of his unique musical voice.

Iconic scores and collabs

As the 1990s rolled in, Zimmer’s influence on film music continued to grow. His collaborations with directors like Ridley Scott, Christopher Nolan, and the late Tony Scott would cement his place in cinematic history. In 1994, Zimmer won an Academy Award for Best Original Score for The Lion King, one of his most beloved works. The film’s sweeping Africaninspired melodies and heart-wrenching themes resonated deeply with audiences, making the soundtrack a worldwide hit. Zimmer’s style is often characterised by its ability to blend lush orchestral arrangements with electronic sounds, creating a layered, immersive experience that elevates the films he scores. His work on The Dark Knight Trilogy, particularly The Dark Knight (2008), is another landmark in his career. The soundtrack’s pulsating rhythms, haunting motifs, and the iconic Joker theme added a dark, psychological depth to the films and reshaped the sound of superhero cinema. But Zimmer’s reach didn’t stop at action films. His score for Inception (2010), with its distinctive ticking clock sounds and soaring orchestral crescendos, became instantly recognisable. The iconic “Time” track, which has since become synonymous with epic cinematic moments, helped solidify Zimmer’s position as a master of tension and emotional depth.

Hans Zimmer Live

With a career spanning over three decades, Zimmer’s legacy is now cemented as one of the most influential composers in film history. Yet, in a surprising twist, Zimmer has taken his talents beyond the screen and into concert halls worldwide with his Hans Zimmer Live performances. Starting in 2014, Zimmer began touring the world, bringing his iconic scores to life in front of thousands of fans. The Hans Zimmer Live concerts are a sensory overload, blending stunning visuals, powerful orchestral performances, and Zimmer himself leading the orchestra through his most famous works.

This month, Zimmer brings his unforgettable live show to Abu Dhabi’s Etihad Arena, marking yet another milestone in his illustrious touring career. Fans will have the opportunity to experience the magic of Zimmer’s most iconic scores like never before, as he performs live in one of the UAE’s premier concert venues.

For fans, seeing Zimmer perform live is a chance to experience the music they’ve loved for years in a whole new way. For Zimmer, it’s a way to connect with the audience on a personal level, sharing the emotional journey of his music in real-time.

Hans Zimmer’s Most Memorable Scores

The Lion King (1994)

Zimmer’s Oscarwinning score for Disney’s 1994 animated classic is one of his most recognisable works.

Gladiator (2000)

Zimmer’s work on Ridley Scott’s historical epic is both sweeping and intimate, with honour, revenge, and loss brought to life through a powerful orchestral score.

The Dark Knight (2008)

Zimmer’s collaboration with director Christopher Nolan on The Dark Knight resulted in a score that dramatised superhero films.

Interstellar (2014)

The haunting, emotionally charged score combines Zimmer’s love for large-scale orchestration with a deep sense of awe and wonder.

Dune (2021)

His music here is a masterclass in building atmosphere, using a unique combination of ancient and futuristic sounds to match the scale and grandeur of the film’s desert landscapes.

// IRELAND

Laura Rooney

Craic, CASTLES AND COASTAL ROADS

From Belfast to the Giant’s Causeway and onto Derry, Laura Rooney explores why Northern Ireland’s time to shine has finally arrived

When most people think of Ireland, a few familiar clichés come to mind: rolling green fields, dramatic scenery and famously warm welcomes. More often than not, thoughts turn straight to Dublin. But venture north and you’ll find a region that’s long flown under the radar – until now. Northern Ireland is having a moment. And frankly, it’s about time.

There’s a word you’ll hear often up here: craic. Locals ask “what’s the craic?” instead of “how are you?”, and if something’s “great craic”, it just means great fun. That pretty much sums up what’s ahead.

Start your journey by flying into Dublin with Emirates, renting a car at the airport, and heading north –it’s a scenic two-hour drive through gentle hills and sleepy villages. If you’re arriving from outside Ireland or the UK, you’ll need an ETA to cross the border. Alternatively, fly directly to Belfast from a number of UK and European airports.

DAY ONE: BIG CITY, WEE GEM

Your first stop is Belfast, a compact city with a big personality. For five-star luxury, check into The Merchant Hotel (@merchantbelfast) or the Grand Central Hotel (@grandcentralbelfast), which boasts the highest bar in Ireland and sweeping skyline views. For something more fun and budget-friendly, Room2 (room2.com/ belfast) is a cool, design-led aparthotel in the city centre.

To get a proper feel for Belfast, join the Belfast Food Tour by Taste & Tour

(tasteandtour.co.uk). This four-hour experience kicks off at St George’s Market and includes everything from local cheese and charcuterie to small-batch gin and handmade chocolate.

Dinner options are excellent. Roam (@roambelfast) offers contemporary Irish cuisine in a stylish setting. The Muddlers Club (@themuddlersclubbelfast), hidden down a cobbled alley in the Cathedral Quarter, holds a Michelin star and more than earns it. For perfectly grilled steak, head to Deanes Meat Locker (@deanesmeatlocker).

End the night at The Duke of York (dukeofyorkbelfast.com), a beloved bar filled with mirrors, memorabilia and music. It spills out into one of Belfast’s most Instagrammed alleyways and rarely winds down early.

The next morning, head to Harlem (@harlembelfast) beside the Ulster Hall for brunch. Expect vintage décor, a buzzing crowd and hearty favourites like the “All Day Irish Breakfast.”

Before hitting the road, pop into Kelly’s Cellars (kellyscellars.co.uk), one of the

Lir Seafood Restaurant
Carrick-a-Rede Rope Bridge

city’s oldest pubs, dating to 1720. Then swing by Bittles Bar (bittlesbar.com), a quirky, flatiron-shaped spot said to pour the best pint of Guinness in Belfast. For a proper Irish coffee, The Garrick Bar (thegarrickbar.com) does it right.

DAY TWO: COASTAL CRAIC

Leaving the city behind, follow the Causeway Coastal Route – a ribbon of winding roads, rugged cliffs and seasprayed villages. First stop: Glenariff Forest Park. Take the two-hour Waterfall Walk through lush woodland and misty falls. It’s peaceful, wild, and completely worth the detour.

Continue on to Cushendall and explore Layd Church, a 13th-century ruin set above the sea. From here, a short path along the coast reveals dramatic views –especially on a clear day, when the Scottish coast appears on the horizon.

In Ballycastle, pick up fish and chips from Morton’s (@mortonsballycastle) and eat them on the harbour wall. If there’s room, a creamy 99 ice cream (whipped vanilla with a chocolate flake) is practically mandatory.

Game of Thrones fans can detour inland to the haunting Dark Hedges, which played the Kingsroad in the series, before heading to Ballintoy Harbour – another filming location, and a dramatic one at that.

Spend the night at The Bushmills Inn (bushmillsinn.com), a 17th-century coaching inn turned boutique hotel with timber beams, turf fires and cosy snugs. The food’s great and the history’s even better.

DAY THREE: GIANTS, CASTLES AND SEAFOOD

Begin the day at the Giant’s Causeway, Northern Ireland’s geological showstopper. Its 40,000 basalt columns are the result of ancient volcanic activity – or, if local legend is to be believed, the handiwork of the giant Finn McCool.

Just down the road is the Carrick-aRede Rope Bridge. Suspended nearly 100 feet above the Atlantic, it’s short but nerve-jangling – and the views are worth every shaky step.

Next, visit the cliff-hugging ruins of Dunluce Castle. Once home to the powerful MacDonnell clan, it’s also known to Game of Thrones fans as the House of Greyjoy.

For lunch, head inland to Lir Seafood Restaurant (lirseafood.com), located on Coleraine marina. Expect wild, sustainable Irish seafood served in a calm, contemporary setting.

That evening, check into one of Portrush’s best stays. Elephant Rock Hotel (elephantrockhotel.co.uk) channels a boutique, retro-meets-modern vibe, while Dunluce Lodge (dunlucelodge.com) offers refined luxury on the edge of Royal Portrush Golf Club.

DAY FOUR: DESTINATION DERRY

Enjoy a coastal cruise through Portrush and Portstewart, then veer west toward the Mussenden Temple. This picture-perfect 18th-century library sits dramatically above the ocean and is one of the most photographed spots in the region.

Just inland is Derry, Ireland’s only completely walled city. Known for its turbulent history and more recently, the hit TV show Derry Girls, this city is packed with culture and character.

Walk the 17th-century city walls, visit the Museum of Free Derry, and stroll across the Peace Bridge. Guided walking tours cover everything from political history to Derry Girls filming locations.

Stay at The Ebrington Hotel and Spa (theebringtonhotel.com), a new luxury property set in a former military barracks. It combines sleek design with riverside views and a top-tier spa.

DAY FIVE: SLÁN GO FÓILL (GOODBYE FOR NOW)

It’s a scenic three-hour drive back to Dublin Airport, with a playlist full of trad tunes and a camera roll full of memories.

A heritagesplashed journey through Old Dubai

Luxury meets tradition by the iconic Dubai Creek at the perfectly-formed Al Seef Heritage Hotel

If you’re looking to experience the cultural soul of a city that’s always in flux, Al Seef Heritage Hotel offers a beautifully nostalgic escape. Set along the historic Dubai Creek, this boutique hotel blends Emirati heritage with modern hospitality, placing you right in the heart of Old Dubai, yet feeling worlds away from the steel-and-glass sprawl of Downtown.

Whether you’re weaving through the souks or cruising past wind towers in a buggy, everything about the experience feels like stepping into a slower, storyrich version of the city. The hotel itself blends seamlessly into the old market surroundings, almost disappearing into its own setting, which is exactly the point.

LOCATION

Dubai’s Al Seef district is, in a word, unique. Set along the storied banks of

the Creek, it’s a heritage hotspot perfect for aimless wandering and deep cultural dives. The hotel sits just steps from the Al Fahidi Historical Neighbourhood, bustling spice and gold souks, abra stations, and beloved restaurants like Bayt Al Wakeel. It’s an area that anchors you in the past, but doesn’t leave you stranded from the action.

PROPERTY

Spread across 10 traditional “bayts” (Arabic for homes), the hotel is a time capsule done right. The architecture and interiors reflect a bygone era – wind towers, vintage radios, weathered doors –but with just enough modernity to keep it all comfortable. Rooms are intentionally simple, letting the heritage shine, while small luxuries remind you you’re still in a Hilton. Some rooms look out over the Creek, others open onto quiet inner

courtyards made for stargazing or morning coffee. It’s atmospheric, grounded, and refreshingly unpretentious.

DINING

The hotel’s in-house restaurant, Sabaa, delivers hearty Emirati flavours in a warm, laid-back setting. The breakfast buffet is generous, with local touches alongside international staples, while the à la carte menu offers comforting dishes like grilled meats, seafood, and regional favourites. Grab a table outside if the weather’s kind, you’ll have a front-row seat to the rhythm of souk life.

VERDICT

Al Seef Heritage Hotel is a rare find in a city that often leans toward the ultramodern. It’s charming, thoughtful, and effortlessly authentic – a stay that gives you a sense of place. With its winning location, rich cultural cues, and low-key luxury, it’s the kind of hotel that invites you to slow down, look around, and fall a little in love with the old soul of Dubai.
