This paradise is ideal for both beginners and advanced players. The great number and variety of courses means there is always something for you no matter what your level or requirements are.
There are a wide variety of regions to choose from where you can combine your passion for golf with discovering new places, and
tasting the delicious delights of an exquisite cuisine, including halal-friendly options!
Let’s discover what Spain has to offer!
Around 300 days of sun a year
Good news! In Spain, you can play golf throughout the whole year without having to worry about weather conditions. In regions like The Canary Islands, the average annual temperature is over 20 degrees Celsius. Southern areas of Andalusia receive about 3,000 hours of sunshine annually. Additionally, regions like Catalonia, Valencia, and Murcia benefit from the Mediterranean’s mild winter temperatures. Spain’s amazing weather ensures a very long golf season.
World-renowned destinations
In Costa del Sol, near Malaga, you can find what is the golf capital of Europe, Marbella. This place offers numerous prestigious courses. Generally, the south of Andalusia is highly appreciated by golf lovers, and there are many well-known clubs around Malaga and on the Costa de Luz (in Cadiz and Huelva). Other destinations that have very interesting options are the Costa Brava area (in Catalonia), the Costa Cálida (in the Region of Murcia) and the Region of Valencia in addition to the wonderful Canary and Balearic Islands. The options are endless.
You can choose to play overlooking the sea, in rural areas, amidst mountains, and even in big cities. The choice is yours!
Travelling to Spain is now easier than ever! If you set off from Bahrain, Kuwait, Qatar, Saudi Arabia or the UAE, you are just one flight away from the most important airports in Spain. There are multiple direct connections to cities like Madrid, Barcelona or Malaga. These cities are very close to main golf courses, and other important golfing destinations.
You can combine golfing with anything you or your travel companion like
Do you like good food? Do you enjoy art and culture? Do you love to relax in spas? Do you prefer accommodation with character? In Spain, you’ll have no problem combining golf with these pleasures for various reasons. Costa del Sol, Costa de la Luz and Costa Brava areas boast a wide range of restaurants with Michelin Stars, and the regions in general have delicious local cuisine, where you will also be able to find halal-friendly options. In other areas such as Navarre, golf can be combined with gourmet gastronomy. If you are keen on combining golf with culture, you can do so by playing in cities such as Madrid and Barcelona or even in the vicinity of one of the 15 World
Heritage Cities by UNESCO. The main golf courses are often found in luxury resorts, and the Paradors of Malaga and El Saler have outstanding golf courses. Another option?
Kick back in a spa like the one on in La Toja island (Galicia), and check out its amazing golf course, in a privileged setting.
You can even enjoy Spain as a family while playing golf! You can continue to practice your swing, get better, and have fun with your clubs—all while your family has a good time. You will find options to enjoy family holidays, relax and play golf throughout Spain. There are specialized resorts with golf courses adapted to all levels and ages, which offer services, activities and entertainment alternatives for everyone to enjoy.
by great designers
Many of the best golf course architects are
responsible for the design of the courses you can play on in Spain. For example, the courses at the Club de Golf Valderrama and Real Club Sotogrande (both on the Costa de la Luz) are the work of Robert Trent Jones. Cabell Robinson designed the Finca El Cortesín Golf Club (in Costa del Sol) and La Reserva de Sotogrande (Costa de la Luz).
Former golfer Neil Coles is behind the PGA Catalunya Resort (Girona), and Javier Arana has worked on the El Saler Golf Course (region of Valencia) and Aloha Golf (Marbella).
In Cantabria, you can even play in the Real
Golf de Pedreña, where Spanish champion Severiano Ballesteros assisted in the design.
Throughout the year, this country hosts international tournaments and many professionals choose to train here. However, Spain also offers options for any amateur or first-time golfer. There are courses for very different levels and many clubs offer learning and practical courses for all ages. spain.info

Malaysia must be one of the most golf-obsessed nations in the world, given the number of excellent and challenging golf courses throughout the country. And the fact that golf can be played practically all year round makes the country a true haven for golfers.
One of the most exciting things about playing golf in Malaysia for visitors from around the world must be the knowledge that many of the golf courses are the very same turf played on by their golfing heroes and heroines. Indeed, it is possible for the keen golfer to travel the country to play on specifically designed courses or those made famous by former and current golf champions and tournaments.
Well over 200 golf courses, each with its own characteristics and environments, catering to both professional and enthusiastic amateurs, are available for those determined to test their golfing skills against the most challenging courses, or to simply enjoy a calm and refreshing game of playing one’s best, regardless of the outcome.
Overall, Malaysia’s combination of natural beauty, world-class golf courses, tourism infrastructure, cultural attractions, and strategic location positions it as a promising destination for golf tourism, offering endless opportunities for growth and development in this sector.
Kuala Lumpur Golf and Country Club (KLGCC) stands as one of Malaysia’s premier golfing destinations, renowned for its two distinguished courses: the West Course and the East Course.
The West Course, spanning 6,397 metres with a par of 72, has been recognised as Malaysia’s Best Golf Course by the World Golf Awards 2022 and ranked 20th in the Top
100 Golf Courses in Asia 2022. Meanwhile, KLGCC’s East Course earned the top spot in the coveted Golf Digest International 2020 Best Golf Courses in Malaysia list. The Club further solidified its status by being listed in the Club Leaders Forum’s ‘Top 50 Platinum Golf & Country Clubs of the World 20242025’, earning the prestigious title of “5-Star Platinum Club”. Additionally, KLGCC has been honoured beyond the golfing realm, receiving recognition at the Hospitality Asia Platinum Awards (HAPA) for Best Tourism Destination in 2023.
The Els Club Teluk Datai – Langkawi
Nestled between the Andaman Sea and lush mountains on Langkawi Island, the Els Club Teluk Datai was recognised as one of the best new courses in Asia. Originally built in 1992, the jungle-lined course underwent an extensive redesign by South African legend Ernie Els and reopened for play in early 2014. The par 72, 6,760-yard layout plays into the foothills of the Mat Cincang mountain range and out to the sea, featuring five sea-fronting holes. The course has a unique feature –the total absence of bunkers, as Els and
his design team felt that the forest setting provides enough natural hazards.
The par-three 17th plays over a small cove and offers superb views of the Andaman Sea, as does the par-five 7th, which zigzags its way to a beachside peninsula green.
The Els Club Desaru Coast (Ocean Course) – Johor
The stunning 27-hole Ocean Course, designed by the club’s namesake and fourtime major champion Ernie Els, commands
a stunning location overlooking the aweinspiring South China Sea.
The Ocean Course comprises three 9-hole courses, namely Coast, Lakes, and Ridge Course, offering unique on-site individual variability. Each layout has its own character and personal touches from Els while drawing similar inspiration from the famous links courses spread across the UK, with large rolling greens and tight run-off areas designed to place a premium on a sharp short game.
The Els Club Desaru Coast (Valley Course) – Johor
The Valley Course is a remarkable 18-hole golf course designed by Ernie Els’ close associate and three-time major champion, Vijay Singh, together with the Ernie Els Design Team.
The Valley Course traverses the valleys and streams of Desaru Coast with significant
elevation changes, providing picturesque scenery. This championship course spans 41 hectares with 166 bunkers, enabling a challenging and rewarding feat. The small greens and sharp undulations mean that approach play must be precise in order to prevail against the course. The layout is as dramatic as you’ll find anywhere in the world, with Singh using the slopes on the property to perfection, creating a perfect mix of testing shots and vistas that will provide memories to last a lifetime.
Operated by the Shangri-La Group, Dalit Bay Golf & Country Club offers a Signature 18hole Championship Golf Course designed by award-winning Australian golf course architect Ted Parslow. Wetland areas thus form the most distinctive feature of the course, bordered by the Tambalang and Mengkabong Rivers from which the two nines take their names. Water comes into play on virtually every hole, although Parslow’s design allows golfers to choose lines of play that suit their ability and confidence.
For those who have never played, golf might seem like a slow, relaxing sport— an easy game of hitting a ball across an open field. But seasoned players know the truth: golf is one of the most mentally challenging sports in the world.
At Constance Hotels & Resorts in Mauritius and Seychelles, golf is not just a game; it’s an immersive experience that tests the mind as much as the body, set against some of the most stunning backdrops on Earth.
Established in 1994, the Legend Golf Course is located on the east coast of Mauritius within the Constance Belle Mare Plage resort. Designed by South African champion Hugh Baiocchi, this 18-hole, par-72 championship course spans 6,018 metres and is built to USPGA specifications. Nestled in an indigenous forest
and set along one of Mauritius’s most beautiful beaches, it offers both a scenic and demanding experience. Each hole has distinctive characteristics, with fairways seamlessly integrated into the natural landscape and fast greens that require precision and control. The par-3 17th hole stands out, requiring a precise tee shot over water to a semi-island green—a true test of nerve and accuracy.
Since 2009, the Legend Golf Course has hosted the MCB Tour Championship, the season-ending event on the Legends Tour, drawing elite players like Colin Montgomerie, Tom Lehman, and Ian Woosnam. At Constance, every round is a strategic challenge, making it a must-visit for golfers who thrive on precision and decision-making.
Situated on the east coast of Mauritius within the Constance Belle Mare Plage resort, the Links Golf Course provides a picturesque setting to develop this mental discipline. Designed by Rodney Wright and Peter Alliss, this 18-hole, par-71 championship course spans 5,942 metres (6,498 yards) and was inaugurated in 2002. Laid over undulating terrain, it features a links-style layout with rolling fairways, firm greens, and natural volcanic rock formations. Water hazards come into play on six holes, adding to the strategic challenge, while strong ocean breezes demand complete focus and execution.
A moment of distraction in golf can lead to an off course shot or a missed putt. The 18th hole provides a memorable finale, requiring precision to close the round successfully. With practice areas, including a fairway and putting green, players can refine their skills before stepping onto the course.
Unlike fast-paced sports, golf demands deep concentration, where a single stroke can define an entire game. At Constance Hotels & Resorts, every round is played in an environment designed to enhance focus, offering an unmatched setting for those who embrace the mental challenge of the sport.
Constance Lemuria Course: Every Shot is a Puzzle
Located on Praslin Island in the Seychelles, Constance Lemuria is home to the archipelago’s only 18-hole championship golf course. Designed by Marc Antoine Farry and Rodney Wright, this par-70 course spans 5,611 metres, offering a unique golfing experience amidst breathtaking natural beauty. The first 12 holes wind through palm-lined fairways, volcanic rocks, and lagoons, creating a tranquil parkland setting, while the final six holes traverse hilly terrain, offering both a physical test and panoramic views.
The dramatic landscapes of Seychelles add another level of complexity, demanding quick decision-making and adaptability. The 15th hole stands out as a signature challenge, featuring a tee box elevated 50 metres above the green, with stunning views over Anse Georgette beach. Each hole presents a new test, requiring players to stay composed as they navigate through nature’s obstacles.
For those looking to refine their mental game, the Constance Golf Academy in Mauritius offers tailored coaching programmes for both beginners and advanced players, focusing on both the technical and psychological aspects of golf.
At Constance Hotels & Resorts, the game extends beyond the course. The luxurious surroundings allow golfers to unwind in private villas with plunge pools, indulge in gourmet dining, or enjoy world-class spa treatments—where every swing is a challenge, and every stay is a reward.
