WELCOME International Dirt Bike Show October 30 – November 2, 2014 Stoneleigh Park If you’re reading this then chances are that you are already here at Stoneleigh Park and ready to revel in the fun and action of Europe’s largest dedicated off-road show, and we’re delighted to welcome new and returning visitors to the 2014 event.

The Show team have worked hard over the past 12 months to bring together the best Show possible and have taken on board previous-year visitor comments, such as putting in place more ticket booths, which we hope will improve your all-round Show experience. We have also made a few layout changes to give the Show a fresher look, whilst still retaining the traditional elements that make it such a popular destination for off-road fans and their friends and families each year.

We have more machine manufacturers than ever before lined up for you, with the four major Japanese marques – Honda, Kawasaki, Suzuki and Yamaha – joining the MX1 and MX2 world and British championship-winning KTM alongside its sister brand, Husqvarna. You’ll find them all, vying for your attention in hall two, with tantalising displays of the very latest production and factory race-spec bikes. Over in hall three the majority of enduro and trials distributors such as Beta, Gas Gas, Sherco, Mecatecno, Oset, Gas Gas Enduro, AJP and TM UK are ready and waiting to show off their latest wares and they’ll be surrounded by a whole host of exhibits depicting the different ages and sectors of off-road sport; think adventure, twinshock, evo, classic trials, historic motocross and you’ll soon get the picture. Whilst in hall three, make sure you visit the Classic Dirt Bike stand and enter the competition to win a black edition Honda CRF540R – it’s a top prize and one lucky Show enthusiast will win it!

The Show is, of course, about more than just the glorious bikes as, for many of you, this is where you will get to see or try on the very latest new-season kit, gear, parts and www.dirtbikeshow.co.uk

accessories for both rider and machine from some of the biggest companies in the world.

Over in the retail hall, you’ll be spoilt for choice with a mind-boggling selection of trick bits and bargains covering head to foot, wheel to wheel, bench to van, and everything in between. There are simply far too many top-name exhibitors to single out and mention here, but to help plan your day and find your favourite exhibitors, skip to pages eight and nine for a quick overview of the Show, and then within the following A to Z guide, you’ll see who is here and where they are located.

For those of you who enjoy the buzz of live action then you’ll need to head over to halls four and five which are stacked out with free-of-charge entertainment and activities. Hall four is the place to head if you want to sit back and enjoy watching others take the strain, and hall five is where you can get involved. The live arena schedule will see non-stop action, with Flattrack racing demonstration heats and finals from former British and European Flattrack Champion Pete Boast, interspersed with spectacular stunts from performer extraordinaire Lee Bowers on a selection of Kawasaki machinery. Also in this hall you’ll find the Inch Perfect Trials tea putting on displays of extreme control, balance and skill, coupled with daring attacks at massive jumps up vertical walls, breath-taking drop-offs and a full range of freestyle tricks. Once you’ve witnessed how it’s done by the professionals, you can have your very own trials try-out, with visitor riding sessions running throughout each day of the Show.

Other members of the family looking to have-a-go won’t be disappointed, as an array of activities, including the electric zone with Oset and Mecatecno trials bikes for the youngsters, kids’ quads, remote-control ‘crossers, My First Honda Licence and Strider bikes for the very young, all running each and every day in hall five. This hall will also be the setting for the Owd Codgers Trials’ demos and the Show’s weekend MiniBike SX Championship, with Thursday and Friday serving as practice days,

and racing from 10.00am on both Saturday and Sunday. Mums and dads wanting to take time out to sit and watch their offspring enjoy the fun and games will be glad to hear that hot and cold food and beverages will be served in the Linkway Café, which is located between the two activity halls.

Oh, and don’t forget the weekend-only ‘Evoshock’ Moto Jumble … it will be open from 10.30am to 5.00pm on Saturday and 10.30am to 4.30pm on Sunday.

Finally, remember to stop by the main stage in hall one where TV commentator and journalist Jack Burnicle will once again be in control of proceedings and will interview the many racing stars and personalities that make the Show a must-do annual event. Here too is where various championship presentations will take place, where the Putoline TMX/DBR PS3 challenge and Michelin tyre endurance test will be contested, and where you can get a taste of Danny Butler’s Extreme MTB Show.

EXTREME MOUNTAIN BIKE SHOW

Danny Butler and his Extreme MTB Show crew are masters of performing to the crowd and over the past few years have become firm favourites with Show visitors. This year, the guys will give short on-stage teasers before hopping over to their adjacent stand and performing their choreographed routines and tricks over and around a new rig and obstacle set

TRIALS PERFECT

The Inch Perfect Trials team will put on displays of extreme control, balance and skill, coupled with daring feats and nerve with massive jumps up vertical walls, breath-taking drop offs, and a full range of freestyle tricks including wheelies, stoppies, back wheel hops, 180 degree flick turns and the like. Once you’ve witnessed how it’s done by the professionals, you can try have your very own trials try-out, with 15minute visitor trials riding sessions running throughout each day of the Show for those aged 16 and over.

One of the UK’s leading motorbike stunt riders, Lee Bowers will push his Kawasaki bikes to the limit as he performs spectacular stunts on both off, and on-road, green meanies.

STRIDER BIKES

HALF THE SIZE, TWICE THE FUN

The International Dirt Bike Show MiniBike SX Championship will take place over the weekend.

Six classes - Vets, Clubman, Pro, StockMod, Pro 88 and Youth 125 - will battle it out over eight frantic laps for Show glory. Expect to see plenty of packed races with top-level riders, live timing screens, a new and biggersupercrossstyle indoor track layout, better spectator viewing and a trade area selling mini bike goods.

Thursday and Friday will serve as practice days, with qualifying heats and finals starting from 10.00am on both Saturday and Sunday.

Strider balance bikes, for toddlers of 18 months through to youngsters of five years, will teach steadiness and co-ordination. The Strider team will instruct children to propel themselves on the bikes, swing into corners and then hold mini races throughout the weekend. Heaps of fun for the very young members of the family and a great introduction to two-wheels for wannabe motocross stars of the future.

TMX/DBR/Putoline PS3 challenge

FLATTRACK DEMOS

USA-style Flattrack racing hit the halls of Stoneleigh Park for the first time last year. And, back by popular demand, former British and European Flattrack Champion Pete Boast and team will be putting on a series of super-quick heats demonstrating the skills involved in getting DTX (mix of dirt track and motocross) bikes around a tight track sideways, with only a rear brake to keep them out of trouble.

Children from the ages of five to 11 can experience the fun of riding a restricted 50cc motorcycle on a specially designed circuit in complete safety and, once completed, take away their very first licence. Experienced instructors will provide 2:1 guidance and children will be provided with all the necessary safety equipment required.

See the ‘professionals’ in action first in the Electric Trials show arena in hall three and then unleash your juniors on an electric trials bike with Oset and Mecatecno. These electric machines are the ideal introduction to two wheeled sport, teaching balance, throttle control and technique, and with no hot parts to worry about. These mini-machines are nimble enough to be ridden around a back garden and suitable for children aged from two.

REMOTE CONTROLLED BIKES

Watch the experts put these mini radio controlled motocross replicas through their paces and then have a go yourself. Challenge your family and friends to see who is the most agile when it comes to ‘remote’ racing.

FIGHT LIKE A GIRL

The Classic scene will be embraced in hall three with historic displays including a number of Scott Trial twinshocks to celebrate the centenary of the world famous one-day trial; a Bultaco Sherpa T in recognition of the 50th anniversary of the legendary Sammy Miller signing for the Spanish marque; and a BSA Victor on loan from the National Motorcycle Museum, a GP scrambler that won the 500cc motocross championship in 1964 in the hands of ace works rider Jeff Smith.

Formed in 1903, it has a long tradition in motorcycle sport being a founder member of the Federation Internationale Motocyclisme (FIM). The ACU has a major role in furthering the interests of motorcycle sport. The ACU represents 25,000 licence holders, 3,000 Officials, 600 Clubs and issues up to 4,000 motorcycle sport permits annually.
