Happy New Year!
So, the solstice's been and gone and, although you might not know it to look, the days are getting, almost imperceptibly, longer, and although we still have at least another couple of months of weather cold enough to freeze the balls off a brass monkey (an odd phrase, don't you think? I mean, you do have to question the motives of a sculptor who casts up a statue of a monkey in brass and takes particular care to fashion it a set of visible testes, don't you?), many of us are already looking forward to, and making plans for, the arrival of first spring and then summer.
