I’ve been so fortunate to see and share those little magical moments that happen as a wedding day unfolds. I’m grateful to the couples that have trusted me to tell their stories. Now, as I start this new journey, I’m excited to tell new stories, and there are so many! I’ve been so touched reading all the stories of couples we’ve featured in our real moments. I’ve seen so many examples of how memorable and

That extends to our main feature where we highlight bright color and unique details. There’s just something about a sleek gown with dramatic sleeves or a row of buttons that gives me all the feels. Featuring a modern update on Sheldon architect Louis Spiering’s Arts and Crafts style, The Konneker Room (formerly the Louis Spiering Room) has been re-imagined for a new era. A color palette of rich blues, terra cotta and cream, inspired by the iconic William Morris tapestry, “Strawberry Thief,” along with copper accents, will complement the existing west wall of salvaged brick and terra cotta. CITY MUSEUM C E L E B R AT E S 2 5 TH ANNIVERSARY Opening on New Year’s Eve in 1996, City Museum is a hundred-year-old warehouse in downtown St. Louis in which artists have repurposed the pieces of old cities to build miles of tunnels, slides, climbers, bridges, and castles. There are secret passages and grand galleries. Playgrounds and ball pits. A circus and a train. A rooftop school bus and a Ferris wheel. City Museum has space to host 40-400 people. Choose the First Floor for an oceanic backdrop, the Second Floor for its stunning marble bar and enormous bank vault doors, or the Third Floor for its captivating mix of salvaged architectural pieces. citymuseum.org

Each element of our wedding was well thought out and had a meaning. The pinecone escort cards/favors were pinecones collected by Cody’s late great grandfather who passed away in fall of 2021. So we had him in spirit at our wedding. The trees at our altar we cut down from the Christmas Tree Farm that we got engaged at. Our guest book was a St. Louis Blues jersey because we are huge Blues fans (still waiting for the team to sign the front side of our jersey…HINT HINT! We created a popcorn bar as an appetizer for the cocktail hour because that is one of Cody’s go-to snacks. Our wedding cake was baked by our grandmother who has baked all the family’s wedding cakes. Our wedding had so much love and meaning that it makes us so happy that we incorporated it all.” – HOW

When planning, prioritize what is important to you and your spouse. Do not feel obligated to do something a certain way or at all just because everyone else does it. This day is about you and your spouse and so it should be about what matters to you. Traditions should add to the magic of the day and not add to your stress. So think through each detail of the day and really decide will it matter to you as a couple or the success of your event. Prioritize what will bring you and your spouse joy on your special day.” – ALEX + JORDAN’S

We focused on how to make this day that’s traditionally all about two people–the bride and groom– an experience we could share with all members of our family. We loved details that brought magic to our guests and celebration like an indoor snow machine, surprise visit from Santa, and an interactive ceremony. During our Winter Solstice ceremony, each guest lit a candle and silently sent a blessing for our union. We are fortunate to live in a picturesque, 1800’s stone church that was converted into a divinely charming home so the setting of the wedding couldn’t have been more romantic with all the candles lit around us. Knowing our union, our home, and our family received all those well wishes and blessings on such an auspicious day such as the Winter Solstice was one of the best parts of our wedding. Finally, rather than traditional gifts, we asked each guest to bring us a special ornament that we could hang from our Christmas tree for years to come. This way, each year as we decorate we can remember our special day with our loved ones and send a blessing back to them.” – HOW

Make sure your caterers make you a to-go box of all the yummy food at your wedding, dessert included. The only thing we were sad about was not getting to try all the awesome food options and wish we had ensured a to-go container to enjoy post-wedding. Stay by each other's side as much as possible at your reception. It's special to have so many shared memories from the party! When planning a wedding, it's easy to jump right into logistics. We recommend starting the process off by talking about what values for your wedding are most important to you as a couple. Check out Priya Parker's book "The Art of Gathering" for how to start this conversation. Lastly, we highly recommend an end-ofnight crowd surfing!” – ABBY + ROEY ’S

We tried to be intentional about planning moments in our day that would feel individualized and special. Mostly, we wanted these moments to help us to be mindful of the many individuals who have supported us up until our wedding and who we will continue to lean on for support into our marriage. During our ceremony, Bruce’s parents shared their wedding lasso from their wedding with us, and they led my parents in a Mexican wedding tradition that symbolizes the joining of two families. In the ceremony, the groom’s parents wrap the bride in one side of the lasso and the bride’s parents do the same for the groom. I also shared a special prayer with the women in my family, including my two sisters, mom, grandma, two aunts, mother in law, and my mother in law’s sister. During the reception, my dad placed my childhood hunting boots on my feet for our first dance to echo a fond memory he discussed during his welcome toast, and Bruce and his mom shared a Mexicaninspired first dance to get the dance floor going. Finally, Bruce and I shared a private final dance to conclude the celebration and have a special moment together to process the excitement and joy of the day.” – HOW

We carefully thought out and planned every detail alongside my friends and incredible officiants, Paul Cook and Lance Hildebrand, and everything from the décor, to the music, to the words spoken, was so heartfelt and unique to US. From walking in with my Dad and seeing Matt waiting for me, to holding Matt’s hand while my cousin, Curt and his wife, Monica sang, OUR SONG, “The Story” by Brandi Carlile, to hearing the beautiful words written for us by our dearest friends, to hearing all the laughter from our guests, it was the SWEETEST, MOST MEMORABLE, non-traditional ceremony ever! I wanted to create a ceremony that would be memorable and meaningful to our guests, not just something that was special to us as the bride and groom, and I think we definitely achieved that.”

There were so many moments! Looking back on the night, one of the most memorable moments was our first dance that turned into a major dance party! We had our band invite our guests up to the dance floor halfway through the song. Our first dance song, Lover of the Light by Mumford and Sons, has a big instrumental build-up, which gave everyone the perfect amount of time to meet us on the dance floor. Seeing our friends and family rush to us with so much energy and excitement still gives me goosebumps. We finished our first dance jumping, singing, hugging, crying and surrounded by our favorite people. I will never forget it.” – EMILY ’S

We both enjoy designing and creating. We integrated our outdoor adventures into our wedding decor through handmade trail signs at each table, homemade bouquet, handcrafted tea candle holder wedding favors made from logs, among many other personal touches. We kept the wedding small and choose to have our children walk us down the aisle to our non-traditional music choices (Todd: Imperial March by John Williams, Emily: Stella by Starlight, Miles Davis). We wrote our own vows, sawed a log for our unity ceremony, and exited the ceremony to "You Make My Dreams" by Hall & Oats. We also kept our day special by choosing family and friends to be our vendors." – HOW

We blended black-tie style with pops of color and all the sparkle to create the perfect vibe for a modern couple ready to celebrate. We paired disco balls with a vibrant color palette of pinks and purples to complement the Art Deco style of The Leona. For the bride, a range of sparkles for our bride’s gowns, from a subtle shimmer to full sequins and beading, and added a little pizazz to her partner's attire with an all-black ensemble and a glitter bow tie. The team of vendors put together a wedding shoot that would certainly be a fun and unforgettable event! 112

Morgan’s skills and know-how proved valuable to planning the reunion and Donnah was impressed. “We worked really well together and made a great team,” recalled Donnah. After the reunion, Morgan invited Donnah to a friend’s wedding. It was a high school friend, so they would both know many of the guests. Morgan asked Donnah to go with her. She clearly remembers when she picked up Donnah for the wedding. “I had never seen Donnah dressed up like that before. My reaction felt like a cartoon, where your eyes pop out of your head,” Morgan said. “I was like: ‘Oh my goodness!’”

Inspired by the beauty of the Spring/Summer season and the modern-day bride that is sophisticated and likes to make a statement. It was essential that the design included vibrant colors and lush florals. A beautiful and trending detail is the rice paper sails, which elegantly elevate a plain white cake. And to stay in theme, the cake is surrounded by a bed of flowers. We wanted to inspire brides to think beyond decor on the table and create moments for other elements throughout their wedding. In addition, the floral pillars enriched with greenery are the perfect backdrop to center couples during a ceremony. The stationery, napkin, and bride's accessories all tied into the bright, bold, and chic mood of this shoot. 120

When Lacey + Tyler walked up the custom staircase and entered the tent filled with breathtaking florals and silk draping they were in complete awe. Lacey remembers, “we watched the structure being built, but until all of the elements came together, we had no idea that this was going to be more than we could have ever imagined.” She adds “the brilliance of Jenny, Bryan and all of the vendors took our vision to a whole new level. “Even the darkest night will end, and the sun will rise.” – Victor Hugo I wanted to depict the emergence from the pandemic era by juxtaposing darkness with bold jeweled tones and vintage elegance. Faith’s Florals created some stunning silk floral displays, including a lush 12-foot-long table garland and a dramatic asymmetrical floral archway adorned with pink magnolias, plum cabbage roses, and peach dahlias nestled amongst Italian ruscus, leather leaf ferns, and seeded eucalyptus. These bright pops of color against a rustic farmhouse table, matte black stoneware, velvet napkins, and gold accents gave the reception scape a beautiful dark and moody vibe. Lyndsay, our bride model, was fitted in an elegant black wedding dress from Mia Grace Bridal. This rich and luxurious feel was continued in the bridesmaids’ velvet dresses and black tuxedos for the men. One of the best parts? This shoot ended with Parker, one of our groomsman models, proposing to Emily, one of our bridesmaid models! What a stunning reminder that love is the strength by which a weary world emerges into the light. 134

Lopez said when creating a couple’s wedding invitations, she approaches it as part of their event branding. “We are branding your event, and this is going to set the stage for everything that is to come,” she said. So, how are some ways couples can make their invites their own? Think: monograms or an intertwined graphic, such as animals or flowers that represent the couple. 138

We are both inspired by modern, clean lines with a feminine touch, so when it came to showcasing our styles, it was a perfect match. The goal was to create a dreamy white setting. Floral Play crafted a stunning cloud of baby's breath that served as our focal point. For the tables, we kept the florals light and airy to balance the installation. We chose natural wood colors with gold accents to bring in some warmth. Textured glassware and lots of candles added the perfect final touch to the cozy look. One trend we LOVE, Ashley glued pearls in hair to accent her low ponytail. 176

Though procuring a wedding license isn’t quite as complicated as the wedding itself, it helps to know the rules. Here they are: 1 All applicants in Missouri and Illinois must receive a license before the ceremony; Saint Louis Bride recommends a minimum of 24 hours. Blood tests are not required in either state. 2 A Missouri license is valid for thirty daysfrom its effective date; an Illinois license for sixty days.
