The Coach Gerry Gallagher Memorial Beefsteak is more than a fundraiser - it is a celebration of community, tradition, friendship, and the enduring spirit of Morris Catholic football.
The Crusader Gridiron CLub The Morris Catholic Football Program prides itself on its tradition of competing against bigger schools, founded on tough, physical defense, excellence on special teams, and tailoring an offense based on the skills of our personnel. MC Football is a "hard work" program that seeks to maximize our players' physical abilities and character. We emphasize academic and athletic excellence based on preparation, teamwork, good sportsmanship, and the joy of playing the game as it was meant to be played. The Crusader Gridiron Club proudly carries on the legacy of Coach Gerry Gallagher, whose dedication, leadership, and love for Morris Catholic Football helped shape the program and the values it represents today. Through its continued support of our players and football program, the Club strives to uphold the traditions Coach Gallagher stood for and ensure that his impact continues to inspire future generations of Crusaders.
A Message from CGC PRESIDENT PAUL Minnefor, 89
Welcome to the First Annual Coach Gerry Gallagher Memorial Beefsteak. A member of the Class of 1969 and head football coach between 1977 and 1984, Coach Gallagher embodied the enduring principles upon which the Morris Catholic football program is founded: faith, family, comradeship, hard work and toughness. Coach Albano, his staff and players are striving to build a program that exemplifies those values – a New Crusade. The Crusader Gridiron Club is committed to supporting that worthy effort, and asks that you continue to do so as well. You can follow the team and the CGC at www.mcfootball.org. Godspeed to the Crusaders in 2026 and in the years ahead. Sincerely, Paul Minnefor, President of the CGC
A Message from Coach Dave Albano Dear Morris Catholic Family and Friends, It is my privilege to welcome you to the Coach Gerry Gallagher Memorial Beefsteak and to thank you for your generous support of Morris Catholic High School Football. Tonight is about much more than football. It is an opportunity for the Morris Catholic community to come together to celebrate the life and legacy of Coach Gerry Gallagher and the lasting impact he had on our student-athletes, our school, and the many lives he touched. His commitment to our young men and to the values of teamwork, character, discipline, and perseverance continues to inspire us. As a football program, we are proud to carry that tradition forward. Every day, our players learn that success is not measured only by what happens on the scoreboard, but by the people they become through their experiences as Crusaders. The support of our families, alumni, friends, and community makes those experiences possible. The proceeds from this evening will directly benefit the Morris Catholic Football Program, helping provide our student-athletes with the resources, equipment, training, and opportunities they need to compete, grow, and succeed both on and off the field. On behalf of our players, coaches, and the entire Morris Catholic Football family, thank you for being here, for remembering Coach Gallagher, and for investing in the future of our Crusader football program. We are grateful for your generosity and proud to have you as part of our team. Go Crusaders! Sincerely, Dave Albano Head Football Coach Morris Catholic High School
The Morris Catholic Football program will follow one simple philosophy. We will be a well organized, well disciplined, hard-hitting football team that exists within a family atmosphere and combines old and new traditions that will make the Morris Catholic community proud. We will create a culture that helps student athletes succeed in all future endeavors as the game of football provides lessons that will remain with each player for a lifetime. This is Morris Catholic’s foundation as we embark on “A New Crusade” and strive to achieve success this and every season; on and off of the football field.
