Having a vibrant and well-equipped space to get prepared for competition is essential for any athlete. A new and expanded Morris Catholic athletic fitness center – with state-of-the-art weights and conditioning equipment and a speed and agility area – will invite students to push harder, grow stronger, and elevate their athletic performance. As we conclude the first quarter of the school year, I am pleased to share some highlights from what has been a vibrant and faith-filled start here at Morris Catholic
Our Spiritual Life program has been in full swing Just two weeks ago, we were blessed to celebrate our Bishop’s Liturgy with Bishop Sweeney, a moment of unity and prayer that set a beautiful tone for the rest of our year. Both our freshman and sophomore classes have completed their retreats, and our Student Campus Ministers and Peer Ministers have done an outstanding job helping our students feel welcomed, supported, and rooted in our Catholic identity As we enter Advent, our Spiritual Life Committee is preparing Scripture Study “Lunch and Learn” opportunities for students, along with offering daily Mass, which many of our students have been faithfully attending.
Academically, our students have shown tremendous dedication As we work to prepare them for success in college and beyond, we have expanded our offerings to include additional AP courses as well as Dual Enrollment Business classes through Catholic University These enhancements reflect our ongoing commitment to providing rigorous, relevant, and mission-driven education
We were thrilled to welcome a strong and enthusiastic freshman class this year, along with nearly 30 transfer students. Their energy, curiosity, and spirit have added so much to our community. We also welcomed several new faculty members, each of whom has quickly become an integral part of the exceptional team that defines Morris Catholic
Looking ahead, we are especially excited to induct more than 40 new members into the National Honor Society next quarter, a testament to the academic excellence and character of our students.

CAMPUS MINISTRY & SERVICE
Our programs have been incredibly active as we kicked off our year. We have celebrated Masses together, including our Bishop’s Mass, held numerous service activities and events, and grown in our spiritual life through daily Mass and events
In addition, each sports team completes a service project as well Girls and boys cross country teams collaborated to donate 23 bags of groceries to the Loaves and Fishes Food Pantry in Boonton
Our Annual Dig Pink Volleyball event raised nearly $5,000 with a portion going to Cancer Hope Network.
Our Care for Cancer Club delivered 50 gift baskets to Pediatric Oncology patients at St Claire’s in Morristown on Halloween
Student Council collected bags of socks, hats and gloves for Howard’s Mission.
We celebrated the Feast of Our Lady of the Rosary together with Adoration.
Our chapel is full for our daily Masses during commons
We celebrated the veterans in our community with Mass and breakfast on Veteran’s Day

Activities Fair
Morris Catholic holds an activities fair each year to showcase all of our clubs and activities for students to engage in. This year we have over 30 different clubs and honor societies, majority of which are student run. Read about our offerings HERE.
In the fall our seniors gather before the sunrise as a class on our football field. It is a great commemorative moment to celebrate the start of their year together.

College Visits
Our Guidance Department has set up numerous weeks of visits on campus from colleges all over the country. Our juniors and seniors have the opportunity to meet with admissions counselors from over 95 schools to discuss options and opportunities at these schools. We will continue this for numerous weeks as our students prepare for their next step beyond MC.
9/11 Memorial
We have been blessed with the addition of a 9/11 Memorial to our campus. This memorial is created with a piece of steel from the World Trade Center and has been placed by our flag pole. Each year we remember those in our community who were deeply affected by the events of 9/11. This visual reminder will help us keep our MC family in our prayers regularly

The Morris Catholic High School Class of 1975 gathered to celebrate a joyful and memorable reunion weekend filled with laughter, storytelling, and warm reconnections. Classmates traveled from near and far to revisit old friendships, share life updates, and celebrate the enduring bond that began 50 years ago at MC
The event started Friday night, October 10, 2025, with a memorial mass, followed by a reception and tour of their alma mater Despite the rain, members of the class returned the next morning for homecoming to cheer on the Crusaders on the field
The evening opened with a welcome from the reunion committee, who honored the class’s shared history and the special role Morris Catholic has played in shaping the lives of its graduates Throughout the event, alumni enjoyed a relaxed atmosphere, great music, and a display of cherished photos and memorabilia that sparked both nostalgia and lively conversation

Despite the steady rain that rolled in over campus, the Morris Catholic Class of 1980 turned out in true Crusader spirit for their Homecoming reunion celebration. Umbrellas were up, jackets were zipped, and smiles were everywhere as classmates reconnected, reminisced, and cheered on the Crusaders
Members of the Class of 1980 gathered along the sidelines, sharing stories from their days in the hallways of MC and catching up on four decades of life, family, and accomplishments
The rainy weather didn’t slow anyone down if anything, it added a bit of nostalgia and a few laughs as everyone huddled together to stay dry
The celebration continued with a mix of speeches, toasts, and plenty of time to reconnect From revisiting old yearbook moments to sharing stories of family, careers, and life’s adventures, the reunion captured the true spirit of what it means to be a Crusader for life
The Class of 1975 extends heartfelt thanks to everyone who helped plan the event, as well as to the administration and alumni team at Morris Catholic for their ongoing support. It was a night that reaffirmed pride in MC and reminded all in attendance that, no matter how many years pass, the Morris Catholic family remains strong.
Here’s to the next reunion and to the Class of 1975, whose Crusader spirit continues to thrive!

The Class of 1980 stood proudly among the returning graduates, celebrating their enduring bond and the legacy they continue to carry forward. Sarah Hoff, had an incredible season this year, breaking numerous personal records. At the Morris County Championship, Sarah Hoff placed second out of 139 runners in a time of 18:50.5. Not only did that time beat Sarah's personal record from just last week by 15 seconds, it also shattered the Morris Catholic girls 5k record of 19:02 set by Lauren Avallone in 1996!
FALL2025 Athletic COMMITMENTS
On November 12, our students participated in National Signing Day Currently nine students have made their athletic commitments, three of which will be playing D1 sports next year in college. GO
The Arts
This October, the MC Drama Club celebrated last year’s spring musical with a Broadway field trip to see MAMMA MIA! Students continued the theatrical excitement with their first production of the school year, You Can’t Take It With You, performed November 20–23. The show featured two talented casts, a large student-run crew, and five lively performances. Pictures and highlights from the production will appear in our next issue.
MC Performing Arts also announced their highly anticipated spring musical: Newsies. This beloved show makes a triumphant return after MC’s planned 2020 production was canceled due to the pandemic.
It has also been an exciting season for our theatre teacher and director, Ms. Amy Bauer ’06, who made her professional acting debut this fall in American Theater Group’s production of Our Town Ms Bauer previously directed Our Town at MC in both 2011 and 2021. The 2011 production was he very first fall play at MC and went on to win the State Championship.
