Either way, you will want to make the most of it, and Morningside is a college that can help you do that. It offers much more than just excellent facilities. Morningside is a residential community of students, Fellows and Tutors that is intimate enough for you to get to know everyone here and has the resources and tradition to help you do that. It is particularly international and interdisciplinary, so that you can be inspired by other cultures and take in fresh ideas while excelling at your own discipline.

And the more you learn and develop, the more you, in your turn, will inform and inspire others while building friendships and networks that will enrich your university experience and stay with you all your life. WHILE DEPARTMENTS FOCUS ON SPECIFIC DISCIPLINES, A RESIDENTIAL COLLEGE HAS MUCH GREATER RANGE. Not only do our students represent a variety of majors, but College Fellows also reflect the University’s diverse strengths – from Architecture to Linguistics, Engineering to Medicine, Finance to Psychology, our Fellows provide a rich educational environment for students. You will meet them in the classroom and over dinner.

HOSTELS AT MORNINGSIDE ARE MORE THAN JUST LIVING SPACES. Our students are committed to living in, learning from, and contributing to college life – we provide the spaces they need to do so. Within the college walls, you can play the piano, do laundry, eat, study, watch a movie, cook, play table tennis, or chat with friends. And when you’re ready to head off campus, just a short walk downhill to University Station allows you to board a train north to the border, or south to Kowloon and Hong Kong Island.

晨興的宿舍絕非僅供同 學住宿之用。 晨興是讓同學體驗書院生活、從中 學習和共同創造新生活的地方。我 們為同學提供所需的空間，你可在 書院裏彈琴、洗衣、用膳、學習、 看電影、煮食、打乒乓球或與友閒 談。要到校外的話，只需步行下山 片刻即到達港鐵大學站，乘搭東鐵 北上深圳或南下九龍與港島。

MC EXPERIENCE 晨興生活

BEING HERE MEANS COMMITTING TO A SHARED EXPERIENCE – NOT BECAUSE YOU HAVE TO, BUT BECAUSE YOU WANT TO.

That is what is so special about Morningside – our students want to be here. They want to go hiking with the MC Rangers. They look forward to gatherings in the Master’s Lodge and hanging out with the college dogs on the patio in the evening. They value the diversity of cultures and languages. They kayak together, eat together, study together, make and enjoy music together. Some go out to see the world; others focus on learning more about Hong Kong. All of them aspire to do great things in their own individual ways.

晨興人都投入書院生活，不是因 為被迫參與，而是真心想參與。 晨興就是有這種獨特的魅力，讓同學都喜歡 留在這裡。你可跟晨興 MC Rangers 遠足登 山，參與院長宿舍的聚會或在黃昏時與書院 的大狗小狗在平台玩耍。同學珍視這裡的多 元文化和語言環境，喜歡與其他同學一起划 艇、用膳、溫習、創作和欣賞音樂。有些同 學喜歡探索世界，另一些同學則希望深入了 解香港。不過，晨興人均有一個共通點：大 家都決意按自己的方式發揮所長。

A critically ill patient suffering from a communicable disease has been brought in to the emergency department. You are the frontline emergency medic on duty. Do you delay treatment to scrub up and don protective gear, knowing that you could be putting the patient’s life in jeopardy? Or do you attend to the patient immediately and risk contracting the illness yourself?

This is one example of the dilemmas that Morningside students consider in the College’s rigorous first-year seminar. Students also undertake a service learning project – you might work with classmates to refurbish a historical residence in Fujian, visit social enterprises in Morocco, or assist a local Hong Kong NGO. Writing workshops and one-on-one public speaking tutorials ensure that you learn how to share your knowledge in impactful ways. 「一名病重的傳染病患者被送入急症室。你是急症室的當值醫生，你會先洗擦清潔消毒，並穿 戴好防護裝備才開始診治，以致病人延遲得到治療？還是會冒著受感染的風險馬上醫治病人 呢？」這只是晨興人在新生研討課上討論的多種困境的一個例子。此外，你會參與社會服務 學習計劃，有機會與同學一起修復福建的歷史住宅建築，探訪摩洛哥的社會企業或協助香港 的非政府組織工作。我們會為你安排寫作工作坊及單對單的演講培訓班，確保你能將你想表 達的具體而有效地呈現出來。
