Ignite the imagination! Build, fly, explore, paint, design - Ricks offers so many exciting ways to spend the summer! Each week features a new opportunity to unleash creativity, make new friends, and build lifelong skills and confidence.

Fun for all ages!

Preschool - Kindergarten First Grade - Third Grade Fourth Grade - Sixth Grade Camp is offered Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

No camp July 4 - July 8.

Sunrise early care and sunset aftercare programs are available. See details on page 6.

June 23 - 27 The World of Eric Carle

July 28 - August 1 There was an Old Lady....

Celebrating the birthday week of author and illustrator, Eric Carle, campers will embark on a literary journey through his famous tales. Each story allows expression through art, games, and so much more.

Embark on a wild ride inspired by the beloved “There Was and Old Lady Who Swallowed a Fly” series. Campers will explore the wonders of the world around them through interactive activities and crafts with the “old lady” in mind.

July 7 - 11 Llama Llama Time for Camp

August 4 - 7 Elephant, Piggie, Pigeon & More

Inspired by the Llama Llama book series, campers will explore the various stories about Llama, his mama, and all of their friends. Each day will feature an art project, game, and special activities based on the book of the day.

Whether your camper is into classic, modern strategy or create-their-own board games, this week presents fun opportunities from competitive tournaments to creative game design...and everything in between.

Campers become inventors in this camp designed to teach the steps of innovation. New inventions will be showcased to family and friends at the end of the week at the Summer @ Ricks Inventors Fair on Friday, August 1.

Messy, wacky, and totally gross

Stepping into a world of creativity, young artists will express themselves through art in this camp discovering new techniques and honing their skills as they create amazing works of art.

July 14 - 18 Funky Physics Curious minds who love to ask “why” and “how” will find the answers through hands-on games, activities, and unique experiments running the gamut from gravity and force to electricity and light.

June 16 - 20 Cardboard Challenge Experience the thrill of design as they create and build cities, amusement parks, and arcades using cardboard and other recycled items. Projects will be showcased at week’s end.

June 23 - 27 Game On! Whether your camper is into classic, modern strategy or create-their-own board games, this week presents fun opportunities from competitive tournaments to creative game design...and everything in between.

July 7 - 11 Space Hazards Join us for an exciting journey through space as we explore the various hazards that exist both on Earth and beyond. Youth participants will learn about the challenges we face in space.

Whether it's cosmic radiation, microgravity, or space debris, discover how your student can keep us safe in the vast expanse of space.

July 14 - 18 Wearable Art Spark imagination! Develop skills through wearable art. Designing custom clothing and accessories, young artists will bring ideas to life exploring the world of fashion, design, and self expression.

July 21 - 25 Testing the Waters: Water in the Solar System Water is one of Earth’s most precious resources, but did you know that it's also a key element in the search for life beyond our planet? Join us on a journey through the solar system to explore where water exists in space and how it plays a crucial role in space exploration. Get ready to dive into the science and technology behind one of humanity's greatest challenges— managing water in space!

July 28 - August 1 & August 4 - 7 TechAthlete Combining the thrill of sports with the power of STEM, campers will immerse themselves in both physical activities and intellectual challenges. Athleticism meets innovation as they split their day between the Ritchie Center and Ricks.

Sunrise early care is available from 7:30 am to 8:30 am for $9 per day.

Sunset aftercare is available from 4:00 pm-6:00 p.m. for $20 per day.

Students enrolled at Ricks for the 20252026 school year are eligible for financial aid equivalent to tuition aid. Financial aid eligibility may be modified at the discretion of the Camp Director.

General Health Appraisals are required for all campers, age five and younger.

Immunization records are required.

If your family received Denver Preschool Program (DPP) funding for the 2024 2025 school year, you may apply your tuition credit toward camp fees. You will need to complete summer registration.

All campers must register online through RecTrac. Please visit our website, www.du.edu/ricks/camp, to register.

Before you can register for Summer at Ricks, you must complete the preregistration (prerequisite) form.

The Summer at Ricks pre-registration is a $0 fee registration that allows you to enter your child’s required medical, authorized release, emergency contact, and acknowledgment of risk information for Summer@Ricks 2025.

The cost of camp is $475 for all camps with this exception: The last two weeks for the 4th – 6th grade camps is $600.

Ricks is closed from July 4- 8. No camp is offered during this week.
