Coach’s Comments Thoughts On The Season:
We've had our ups and downs throughout this season. Our main goal is to get better each day and I believe that we are accomplishing that. Our improvement in team rebounding and reduction of turnovers is proof that the team is striving to improve and be competitive.
Keys For Tournament Success: We need energy and effort to take hold, pushing our defense and team rebounding to a season high level. We will also need our seniors to lead us on the floor and in the locker room to have success.

Coach’s Comments Thoughts On The Season: This season what helped us stay in alot of our games was rebounding. We did not always shoot great but the kids hit the glass hard.
Keys For Tournament Success: One thing that will help us is getting out to a good start. We had many games this year where we came out a little flat and had to come back. I think if we can get a good start and keep rebounding we can have some success.

Thoughts On The Season:
Top performers
Through the battle of the pandemic and kids missing practice, we made it! This year was filled with unknowns. Each day being able to be at practice or a game felt like success. We had our up and downs this season, trying to battle back from last year's record (1-21). We've had close games, overtimes, and even double overtimes. We've learned something from each battle. Our defense was our strongest attribute this season as well as learning how to play like a team. These boys worked hard, learned a lot of new things each day, but never gave up!

Thoughts On The Season: The Spoilers schedule within and outside the region proved to be very competitive again this year. With all starters returning from last season, they were able to jump out to a quick start. The Spoilers played several games outside the region against top level teams. That, along with the typical grind and high level of competition within Region 2, has helped them improve as the year has progressed.

Coach’s Comments Thoughts On The Season:
We played a very tough regular season schedule, losing to the top six teams in the state poll and other teams with very good records at some point. The best part of the season so far has been seeing this team develop into varsity basketball players and the roles that go with it. We have had numerous different starting lineups, with each player stepping up at multiple times. We hope the game experience that was gained will help us with consistency in the postseason. With that, we have developed the "next man up" philosophy in hopes of taking some pressure off of the guys that have the varsity experience from previous seasons. This is a very fun team to coach and when we are playing well, it is a very exciting

Keys For Tournament Success: The biggest keys to success for the upcoming postseason are without a doubt playing hard and having fun. Sounds clichè, but we have controlled a high percentage of the games we played in this year, only have lost it with a few bad possessions. We need to play 32 minutes of great team basketball by attacking pressure, making the extra pass, and taking great shots on offense. We also need to be accountable and finish every possession on defense. Our two biggest weaknesses this year have been points off turnovers and second chance points. The plan has always been to play a tough schedule on the year and hopefully it pays off down the stretch. In my opinion, Region 2 is always one of the best regions in the state and this year is no different. We will have to play very well against very good teams in order to make it out of this region.

It is a small campus – it's easy to make friends and find someone with similar interests no matter your background. You will never feel alone.

Coach’s Comments Thoughts On The Season: Region 2 was very competitive during the regular season, which should make for a great tournament. Defensively, the Burros were solid throughout the season and showed improvement offensively as the season progressed. Rebounding and teamwork have also been big keys for the team.
Keys For Tournament Success: The tournament should be exciting as there are a number of teams that could put three good games together. Defense and rebounding are always key at tournament time.

Coach’s Comments Thoughts On The Season:
Jennifer Collison Top performers
The Polar Bears continue to As of March 1 improve individually and are Scoring Average (per game) rallying behind senior standout Ryan Sletten 18.3 Ryan Sletten. Winning the last Avery Gratton 5.5 3 out of 4 games of the regular Bo Salander 5.3 Rebounds (per game) season has really sparked the 4.7 Bears energy and commitment to Bo Salander 3.6 finishing out the season as strong Ryan Sletten Allen Farrell 3.3 as possible. Senior Bo Salander Assists (per game) has been a constant force in Allen Farrell 2.8 the paint. Senior Allen Farrell's Ryan Sletten 2.2 scrappy defensive effort has Avery Gratton .8 kept many team's high scorers Three-pointers to less than their averages. Bode Ryan Sletten 40 Gram's late entry to the Polar Allen Farrell 20 Bears starting line up has given Avery Gratton 13 the Bears back that contagious energy that was greatly missed. Eighth grader Avery Gratton is quickly realizing that his scoring and defensive roles on the team must be consistent for the Bears to be successful this year as well as his next 4 years as a varsity player.
Keys For Tournament Success: For the Polar Bears to be successful, each player must have the confidence to utilize their individual strengths at game time. Multiple Polar Bears need to put points on the board and players coming off the bench have to contribute solid minutes to ultimately win big games.
Good Luck Polar Bears!

PO Box 475 Coach’s Comments Thoughts On The Season:
This is a group of young men that show up everyday ready to compete. As a group we have come up just short in a number of games, but continue to work hard. Our seniors have stepped up and shown great leadership throughout the season. This team has potential to do great things at the right time.
Keys For Tournament Success: For us to be successful we need to finish around the rim, limit our turnovers, and not allow second chance points. These three keys to success have hurt us in a number of games. If we take care of those three things we will be able to compete at a high level and shake things up in the tournament.

Thoughts On The Season: We have continued to improve as the season has progressed. We have had a good season to this point. I am very proud of this team with the effort they put in each day to bring energy to practices as well as games.
Keys For Tournament Success: 1. Play at "our" pace on the offensive and defensive ends. 2. Play team defense and rebound the ball. 3. Work together and trust each other on both ends of the court.

Coach’s Comments Thoughts On The Season:
The Eagles have had a nice season. Going into tournament time we have a 16-2 record and finished the regular season on top of the region standings. The team is averaging 66.7 points per game while giving up 48.5 per game. They play strong defense and are very balanced offensively, with 4 players averaging in double figures. They look to get past their first round exits the last couple seasons and see where things go from there.
Keys For Tournament Success:
In order for North Border to have a successful tourney they will need to maintain the balance they have exhibited throughout the regular season offensively, limit turnovers and keep the opponents off the boards on both ends of the floor.

Thoughts On The Season:
Top performers
The Aggies have had an up and As of Feb. 26 down season. They have played Scoring Average (per game) games or parts of games well but Sam Hagen 19.65 have struggled to put together full Avery Rosinski 6.85 games. In order to change this Jake Olson 6.35 we need to play great defense, Steals (per game) rebound the ball, and limit our Avery Rosinski 1.75 mistakes/turnovers on offense. John Beneda 1.21 We need to continue to use our Gavinn Halvorson 1.2 size on the offensive end of the Rebounds (per game) floor and Sam Hagen will have Sam Hagen 8.85 to be a central part of what we do Jake Olson 6.15 but we will need our guards and Avery Rosinski 2.9 ball handlers to step up and Assists (per game) improve their decision making Avery Rosinski 3.25 with the ball as well as be Jake Olson 2.55 aggressive on offense. We need Brady Omdahl 1.35 to be more intentional with Three-pointers the basketball and take what Avery Rosinski 16 Jake Olson 13 the defense gives us instead of Andrew Koenig 12 forcing what isn't there. This has been a great group to coach. No matter the situation or circumstance they have continued to work hard, fight to improve, and focus on the positive things happening. Regardless of game outcomes, I am so proud to be the coach of this group of young men. Come tournament time doing little things well becomes even more important. We need to bring energy, effort, and a competitive edge every night we play. We need to treat every loose ball, point, and possession as the end of our season because it very well could be. If we play within ourselves and continue to focus on doing the next right thing instead of dwelling on mistakes, we will have a chance to be more competitive than many think. I'm looking forward to what should be another great Region 2 tournament and am so thankful to the teams, fans, schools, and communities and their efforts and energies it took to get us through the season with everything going on. Good luck to all!

Coach’s Comments Thoughts On The Season: Coming into this season, there were quite a few unknowns. We only returned one starter/player with substantial varsity playing time. We knew there'd be some growing pains along the way, but the players have trusted the process and have continued to improve daily. They approach practices and games with a mindset of working hard and focusing on the next play. They're an extremely coachable bunch and it's been fun to see their growth throughout the course of the season. We like where we're at, but we know the most challenging part of our season is yet to come.

In order for us to be successful, we need to play to our strengths on the offensive end and limit empty possessions. It's important for us to get the best shot possible each and every possession. Defensively, we need to be fundamentally strong and assignment sharp. Keeping the ball out of the paint, contesting all shots, and rebounding will be important as well. We also need to play loose and have fun.

NDHSAA Tournament Sportsmanship Good sportsmanship is conduct which imposes a type of selfcontrol involving honest rivalry, courteous relations and graceful acceptance of results. School spirit is a reflection of those attitudes and behavior. Spectator etiquette requires that we refrain from displaying any action to taunt opponent’s fan section such as carrying flags around the court and stopping to taunt the opponent’s fan section. This may lead to competition among observers which is mistakenly under the guise of good sportsmanship. Spectators are asked to remain in their designated fan section. Approaching the opponent’s fan section for the purpose of taunting and baiting will not be tolerated. Also, carrying of flags around the court will NOT be allowed! The use of profanity at ANY TIME will NOT be tolerated. Good sportsmanship shall be defined as those qualities of behavior which are characterized by generosity and genuine concern for others. An awareness is expected concerning the impact of an individual’s influence on the behavior of others. Good sportsmanship is viewed as a concrete measure of the understanding and commitment to fair play, ethical behavior and integrity. 34
