During the ideation process, there was still a question of the ritual in practice until we created our massing model. We felt that the negative space we created provided a great interior space of calm and relaxation. A quiet place of retreat and serenity in an ever-changing world. Therefore, embodying the ritual of a meditative space.

A 360 view of your surroundings fully submerges you into the natural landscape, pulling you out of the cycle you spin every day. Floating beds anchored above a pool of water serve as a meditation space. Tin roofs atop the two of the smaller domes allow for complete submersion into the landscape as the rain falls and the sound echoes throughout the space. On clear days the nearby lake acts as the water supply to provide the calming effect of floating above water as well as the soothing sound of running water.

Choosing to implement this same typology into a community center, with nodes of servant spaces located along the central axis of the building created the new space needed for the community.
