Teaching is both an art and a science. Teaching at Moreau Catholic High School reflects the spirit and commitment of Blessed Basil Moreau who wrote, “We will always place education side-by-side with instruction; the mind will not be cultivated at the expense of the heart.” The school’s faculty is committed to the mission and philosophy of the school and actively pursues excellence through professional enrichment opportunities to promote appropriate learning outcomes. Teachers challenge and guide students to become people of values as well as scholars by having high expectations of all students while recognizing individual differences of students.

More ideas worth sharing. Find a problem you can’t stop thinking about. Build something that meets it. Then stand up and tell the world why it matters. At Moreau, that’s not a dream — it’s senior year.
Although times will change how we educate, we know we cannot educate the mind without cultivating the heart. Aside from receiving a quality college preparatory education, Mariners are transcending the walls of the classroom with the Mariner Mindset: a set of specific characteristics that transform students into globally responsible citizens.

More artistry. What kind of artist are you? That’s the question our award-winning Visual and Performing Arts (VAPA) department wants you to consider. In this department, we strive to open our students to the wonders and joy of the Arts. From learning how to express ourselves in a painting, or a sculpture, to reading music and singing in a group, using the body to communicate big ideas through dance, playing instruments together and riffing in a jazz ensemble, or acting out the words of others on the stage, the VAPA program fosters future artists and art lovers.

CAMPUS MINISTRY TEAM* members are Seniors who lead retreats, liturgies, and service projects to explore their spirituality.
SOCIAL JUSTICE LEADERSHIP* empowers a group of Seniors to take actions that advance a socially just and sustainable community through the values of Catholic Social Teaching.
STUDENT GOVERNMENT* plans all rallies, dances, and schoolwide or class events each year. * These student leadership opportunities earn course credit.
LINK CREW leaders are Junior and Senior students who mentor a small group of Frosh throughout the school year.
More student leadership. Clubs and student organizations allow students to extend their learning beyond the classroom. Our co-curricular programs not only offer students the opportunity to connect with others who share their interests but also to develop valuable leadership skills. Through these experiences, Mariners learn to be responsible individuals who are accountable to each other and to causes greater than themselves.
