Aloha kiddos my name is Ash and today we are going to learn about the Hawaiian Islands.

The Hawaiian Islands are a chain of islands that formed from years of underwater volcanoes erupting.

The Hawaiian Islands are the tops of an underwater mountain range. This mountain range was made from millions of years worth of volcanoes erupting. That’s a long time!

See kids when a volcano erupts the lava that comes out cools against the ocean water.

When it cools it builds up the islands’ size.

The island would get built like this, when the lava hits the cool ocean water it hardens and as more and more lava cools the island gets bigger and bigger

Volcanic eruptions make the dirt on the island very special, the dirt makes things grow really fast.

The dirt found on the islands is one of a kind with all of the nutrients, it allows for fast growing plants and lots of really cool things to grow!

Since the island was made by a volcano there are some really cool places you can’t find anywhere else!

This is the top of a old volcano, clouds form in the bottom in the morning and come out when the sun comes up
