What it means to be Local
Gone are the days when every business was listed in the Yellow Pages. Consumers are far less loyal than ever, driven by disruptions in markets due to technological advancements leading to a race to the bottom in both quality and price in a lot of traditional businesses. As a result, many businesses have focused on being “local,” real estate included. But what does that mean? If everyone is “local,” what difference does it make? We live here in Moon Valley and we want to see this community thrive, which we know only happens through focused efforts on supporting one another.
To us, being local means that we truly invest in our community. For starters, we invest a portion of all of our commissions back into local charities selected by our clients. We fundraise for non-profits like the Homeless ID Project who ensure a $12 ID doesn’t stand between a foster child aging out of care or a domestic abuse victim receiving food and shelter. We sponsor events for Families Raising Hope, a Moon Valley-based non-profit that assists with basic needs and medical care when dealing with the weight of a cancer diagnosis. In fact, we’ve raised or donated over $15,000 this year to local nonprofit organizations! We co-host blood drives with local businesses like Total Sports Therapy, where hundreds of Moon Valley residents have already donated blood this year.

Each donation can potentially save 3 lives, providing an exponential positive impact to our community.
We also support local businesses. Every month, we share space in our marketing with a local business or charity. We do this free of charge for businesses we love. We want other local small businesses like ours to succeed and we enjoy working collaboratively to showcase our neighbors. This year, we have provided over $25,000 in marketing support to other local businesses ranging from shared space in our ad right here in the Tattler, postcards in your mailbox, social media, and a professional production video for several of local business and charity spotlights. Blake, owner of Paint My Place reached out to us recently after being featured on one of our postcards. “Jackie and Locality Homes, we wanted to say thank you for spotlighting us on your recent postcard. We have booked more than a dozen jobs from clients who contacted us after receiving the mailer. As a local small business, we can not tell you how impactful this was for us. Thanks for all you do for Moon Valley.” Lastly, being local means that we develop and hone our real estate expertise here in Moon Valley, in order to serve our neighbors with the highest level of knowledge and professionalism. The saying “All real estate is local,” is only a partial truth. Most real estate agents will take a listing anywhere in The Valley of The Sun. This often leads to sellers choosing an agent without a strong understanding of the local market, putting those sellers at a significant disadvantage. With 15+ years of experience in residential real estate, we have sold over 150 homes in the Moon Valley area. Staying local and giving back is critical to our mission and success as a business because we believe that prioritizing and helping our community has a direct return on investment for all of us.
