This is one of my favourite issues of the year. I love this season with the crisp autumnal colours, the evenings starting to draw in and the hint of the festive season on the horizon!
Plus, my children absolutely love pumpkins and dressing up and there are so many activities and events to incorporate this. Head to page six for our roundup of places to choose from and you’ll find a voucher for Gulliver’s Theme Parks too –I know they are well sought after.
Our What’s on Where pages are handy to see everything listed in date order, hopefully this makes planning your weekends and half term that bit easier! We even have a preview of what’s to come in the festive season from page 26. Have fun and enjoy your autumn with the children. We’ll be back after the fireworks have faded away to bring you all things Christmassy in our Winter Issue.
Best Wishes,

Why are neurodivergent diagnoses on the rise?
More people than ever are being diagnosed as neurodivergent; but it’s not because there are suddenly more neurodivergent people. Increased awareness, understanding, and evolving diagnostic criteria mean that individuals who might have been missed in the past – especially girls and adults, are now being recognised. Schools and workplaces are becoming more aware of neurodiversity, prompting more referrals. Social media also plays a part, with people sharing their experiences and helping others recognise traits in themselves. As stigma fades, more people feel comfortable seeking answers. So, while it might look like neurodivergence is suddenly everywhere, it’s really that we’re seeing what’s been there all along, with many individuals starting to recognise likely neurodiversity in generations that would have never been assessed. Berkshire Psychology offer Autism and ADHD assessments for adults and children, with an average assessment lead time of two weeks. W: www.berkshirepsychology.co.uk

St George’s in Windsor hailed as top prep
St George’s School Windsor Castle has been included within the Tatler Schools Guide 2026, featuring in what is dubbed as the ‘definite source of information on the UK’s top prep and public schools’ for the seventh consecutive year. The review concludes: “At the foot of Windsor Castle, the remodelled kindergarten here has gone down a treat; and it’s among its tastefully neutral hues that toddlers begin the International Baccalaureate Primary Years syllabus. St George’s motto is ‘Real world ready’ and multiple foreign trips both broaden perspectives and foster a love of learning. (Senior pupils can join an exchange programme with a school in Kenya.) But there’s also plenty to do in Blighty: from scuba diving to street dance, there are more than 80 clubs; and the acclaimed choristers provide a beatific soundtrack in chapel. ‘My children run in every day and come out with the biggest smiles on their faces,’ says one parent. ‘What more could I ask for?’” W: www.stgwindsor.org
