ABOUT DANEILLE MERRITT
An Ohio Valley native, Danielle was born and raised in Flushing, Ohio. She graduated from West Liberty University with a degree in Visual Communications, with an emphasis in Illustration. Danielle intends on furthering her education at West Liberty University in pursuit of an M.B.A. Once finished, she hopes to combine her skills as an artist and in business to work as a freelance illustrator. Favoring realism, Danielle seeks to capture the detail of life’s moments. Her inspiration down this artistic path came from past experiences and mentors in her life. In high school, her family lost their home in a fire. Danielle’s high school art teacher helped her to see the bright side of things in that dark period of time. In class she consistently encouraged her students to create work that they would forever remain proud of. This piece of advice still influences Danielle’s works today. Working through a variety of mediums, Danielle always strives to project positive feelings and emotions onto her audience. From experience, she recognizes that you never know when someone might need a positive light or a bright spot in their life. Her hope is that her artwork might be that positive light, or bright spot, in the lives of others.
