Designers Statement

For my senior project I wanted to do something that would be meaningful to me and have a positive e ect on others. I chose to do something that would bene t teens and young adults in a way that I hope would possibly change their lives. I feel that when you give a teenager a safe place to go and hang out after school, that is lled with positivity and fun, it helps them grow and become the person they want to be, whatever that may be.

GenZ is unique because it is not just a hangout place, it is a place where teens can be themselves and be surrounded by others who share the same ideals and interests. GenZ is a place that could really bene t someone who might not have a safe place to have fun, do homework, or just hang out. It is a place to have fun and not worry about the negativity going on outside. For many kids home is not a safe haven and hanging out on the streets is no better but there are not many places that a teen can go that is safe in the evenings when teens are free to hang out. That is when the town rolls up the streets and nothing is left open for the GenZers to do.

I wanted to create a safe environment with fun activities, great food, and something for everyone to enjoy. When creating GenZ I focused on creating a fun and unique experience for the customers. I did this by researching about Generation Z and really getting a feel for what they like and what sets them apart from other generations. People of Generation Z are said to be people born between 1997 and 2012. So, even though I am a part of Generation Z myself, the younger people of this generation were my real focal point and that's who I did my main research on.

When it comes to the overall brand my main focus was technology. GenZ is a very tech savvy generation and it is the rst generation to be born into a world of technology. GenZers use their phones and the internet for everything. It is their main source of communication. They get all of the latest news and play all of the latest games online from the ease of their phones. They no longer need to be hooked up to a bulky gaming system and television. Music of every genre is available at any time without the need for a radio or carrying around CD’s. Everything is at their ngertips and can be carried in their pockets. I based a lot of the brand GenZ o of what GenZers like and do.

I created illustrations of technology things such as text bubbles, comment icons, like icons, share icons, smart phones and headphones. My designs are done in colors that are bright and happy and pop out at you grabbing your attention and pulling you in, lifting your spirits, and begging you to come in and have fun! These designs are displayed on a variety of things throughout the brand such as packaging design, posters, t-shirts and more. The menu is full of GenZ slang for the foods that are o ered so even ordering your favorite food or beverage is fun.

Fun, Friendship and Food is what GenZ is all about. GenZ is a place just for teens. It is a fun place to hang out and be themselves in an environment where they feel safe. It is meant to be a fun experience whether you’re just going to get some food or you’re going to enjoy your afternoon with fun games and activities with your friends.
