Our story is a celebration of the English Textile industry.
With over 185 years of proudly British manufacturing and design heritage to our name – we are experts in producing woollen cloth of unrivalled character and quality.
Today, we are one of a select few mills within the UK that manufacture and sell our cloth directly to our customers from a single site – allowing us to control every single stage within the production process to the highest standard.
Apparel by MOON
The Moon Mill is well-established within the apparel trade. To this day, it remains the cornerstone of our business. Offering quintessentially British design of exceptional quality to fashion labels, designers and retail customers worldwide.
We offer one of the largest stocksupported selections of British-made wool apparel fabrics in Europe, with hundreds of styles readily available.
Choose from a wide variety of designs, colourways, and weights to match the project at hand; from a minimum cut length of 1m, all the way up to full rolls with trade prices on application.
Shetland
Fabrics crafted from our ethically sourced, Shetland-type wool have stood the test of time. Rich in both colour and character with each yarn containing up to eight individual fibredyed shades in the blend. Our Shetland-type wool fabrics are the foundation of a durable yet supple cloth that will break in and continue to improve with wear.

Blazer Stripes - Card L
The first “blazers” were worn by the Lady Margaret Boat Club student members at Cambridge. Joking reference to a “blaze of colour” was also applied to brightly striped boating jackets worn by English University cricket, tennis and rowing teams during the 1880s.

Coarse, thick wool, densely woven. Duffle coats are a traditional British garment dating from 1890. The coat owes its popularity to the British Royal Navy, who issued them as an item of warm clothing during World War 1.
