Veterans’ Organizations to Honor First Responders and their Families

Our local American Legion and VFW posts will be hosting a pork loin sandwich feed at the home football game on September 11th, commemorating the 25th anniversary of the attacks in 2001. They’re inviting the whole community to join them in remembrance, and in honoring first responders and their families. “That morning – that day – changed us forever. Almost everyone can count a deeply personal cost to those attacks, and to the decades of war that came after. The over 400 First Responders in New York who lost their lives that day were amongst the first to sacrifice,” shared Bridget Flannery, local VFW Commander. Flannery added, “Moody County is the home to law enforcement from 3 different agencies. We have EMTs and firefighters – and all of them provide over-watch for each of us, every day of the week. Stopping to pause, to reflect, to share a meal – that seems like just a really small thing we can do.” Serving will begin at 5:30 pm at The Hanger. There is no cost.

Tribal Police Officers are responsible for patrolling the reservation and tribal trust lands to prevent crime and enforce laws and regulations, responding to all calls for service, and performing specialized technical, administrative, and/or investigative assignments.

1 FT – Maintenance Tech

The FSSHD Maintenance Technician is under the supervision of the FSSHD Executive Director. The Maintenance Technician is responsible for the maintenance, upkeep, and renovation of all FSSTHD rental units, buildings, and grounds. Work includes, but is not limited to: Carpentry, plumbing, electrical, painting, and grounds maintenance, including mowing and snow removal.
