Job Description: The cook shall prepare and cook meals for the Title VI participants five days per week according to prepared menus. This position will also be responsible for cleaning and sanitizing the kitchen area, helping with menu, meal planning and ordering, prepping food for future meals and assisting the elderly with any dining issues. This position will occasionally work odd hours for senior events and outings. Minimum Qualifications & Experience: Education for the purpose of this position is not required; however, a High School Diploma or equivalent is desirable. Applicant must be able to demonstrate basic reading and interpretation skills. Two (2) + years’ experience in cleaning, sanitizing, cooking and preparing meals in a professional setting is highly preferred. Applicant must be able to remain on your feet for several hours at a time, ability to lift and carry up to 45 pounds, withstand high temperature conditions, bend, kneel, and stoop. This position is subject to a P.L. 101-630 background check. 1 – PT Driver / Delivery Job Description: The delivery driver will be responsible for making various deliveries throughout the Flandreau area and ensure deliveries are made timely and safely. On occasion, the driver may also drive/chauffer elders to various events and work some evenings. Minimum Qualifications & Experience: Education for the purpose of this position is not required; however, a High School Diploma or equivalent is desirable. Job Description: The custodian is responsible for the day-to-day cleanliness, house and grounds keeping of the Tribal buildings such as Tribal Courts, Tribal Childcare program, Wico Icaga Otipi Community Center, Natural Resources, and the Tribal Office building. The custodian will also take emergency clean up calls and maintain a daily log book. This position is responsible for scheduling weekly and/or monthly deep cleaning projects for all of the listed tribal buildings under the supervision of the Maintenance Facilities Manager. Performs routine checks for cleanliness, safety and repairs, and completes repetitive tasks on a continuous basis as needed. Minimum Qualifications & Experience: Applicant must have a High School Diploma or G.E.D. One year of custodial specialized training and/or experience preferred. Applicant must have a current and valid driver’s license and be able to maintain a valid driver’s license. Applicant must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds, withstand indoor/outdoor conditions, write, read, bend, kneel, and stoop. This position is subject to a background check. 1 – FT Maintenance Worker Job Description: Under general supervision, incumbent performs a variety of work in the general maintenance and repair of buildings, facilities, and equipment. Incumbent will exercise general maintenance and repair of buildings, facilities, equipment, and grounds. Incumbent performs a variety of work in the maintenance and repair of buildings and grounds at various facilities/sites including carpentry, electrical, plumbing, glazier, masonry, and painting tasks; repairs and treats structures such as floors, showers, sinks, walls, roofs, and carpets; cleans debris from roof gutters as necessary; performs minor troubleshooting, repairs, and adjustments of locks on doors, cabinets, desks, closets; repairs door hinges; cleans plugged key slots; changes filters on various ventilation units; hooks up and services kitchen appliances; reports mechanical malfunctions to appropriate party for action; moves and assists in moving furniture and equipment at various facilities/sites; sets up and breaks down cubicle partitions; identifies projects requiring the services of a higher skilled crafts person; assists in obtaining quotes and arranging for services of outside vendors as directed; completes service requests and updates work logs for specific site requirements; maintains reports on pesticide use; activates and deactivates building alarms; as part of site support team, assists with special projects periodically as directed; maintains clean, safe, and orderly work sites. One plus year’s maintenance, custodial, construction work or related job fields work experience highly preferred. This position is subject to a background check. 1 - FT HVAC Technician Job Description: Commercial and Residential heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) technicians install and troubleshoot home and commercial building systems that are used to control internal temperature and air circulation. Incumbent will operate, maintain and repair all equipment used for heating, ventilation and air conditioning of the Flandreau Santee Sioux campus including tribal residential homes. Minimum Qualifications: Graduate of a Community College or Vocational school HVAC program with Licensure or Certification required. Applicant must maintain a valid driver’s license, effectively use a variety of tools and follow all safety protocols while working with potentially harmful chemicals and equipment. 1 – FT S.O.R.N.A. Registry Coordinator Job Description: The SORC, under the direction of the Chief of Police, will be tasked with enforcing the tribal Sex Offender Registry Ordinance. This includes registering and tracking offenders; and reporting non-compliance to the Tribal Prosecutor. The SORC provides notice to the community of registerable offenders living, working, and attending school on the reservation. The SORC will draft and implement policies, forms, and code recommendations to implement best practices related to sex offender registries. The SORC ensures that the Flandreau Santee Sioux Tribe remains in substantial compliance with the Sex Offender Registry Notification Act (SORNA). The SORC engages in community outreach to educate the community about SORO and how to prevent sex offenses from occurring. The SORC will also be tasked with implementing the Tribal Access Program (TAP), a program offered to tribes by the U.S. Department of Justice that allows access and uploading to some federal information databases. The SORC will be the Tribe’s point of contact with the U.S. Department of Justice and in-house for departments with any issues related to the TAP workstation. The SORC will provide access to the TAP workstation to authorized tribal employees and applicants. The SORC will ensure compliance with all tribal policies related to TAP. Minimum Qualifications & Experience: Must have a GED or high school diploma; Law Enforcement background or background with another criminal justice agency highly preferred. Applicant must have a valid SD driver’s license, pass and maintain an Adjudicated PL101-630 background check, be able to operate a computer and use common office software such as Outlook email exchange, Word, and Excel. Applicant must be discreet.
