the final preparations for the July 8th, 2018 Airport Fly-In event; the Board intends to meet tomorrow to complete remaining details. City Administrator Pederson reported that Electric Lineman Greg Hansen has announced his resignation effective June 29th, 2018 as he has accepted a position with the City of Sioux Falls. Recruitment to fill the vacant position will begin soon. Pederson informed Council that he will be contacting Barr Engineering to request an update on the proposal for the Flandreau Dam project as well as contacting Helms & Associates regarding the environmental assessment at the airport. Pederson will work with Alderman Sample in scheduling a community clean-up day this fall as well as next spring in anticipation of the Sesquicentennial Celebration and All-School Reunion that will take place next year. City Administrator next introduced Shane Waterman and Justin Peterson, Clark Engineering, who provided a brief update on the water/wastewater project. They indicated the locations where the contractor is currently working; a second construction crew should be arriving within the next week to assist in completing the project. The contractor has been informed of the need to complete paving and work near the Community Center and Schools prior to upcoming events previously scheduled and the new school year starting. Clark Engineering is currently evaluating an extension of the work completion date as requested by the contractor due to weather related issues. Alderman Unger briefly updated Council on the Healthy Hometown initiative, indicating a meeting was held today with Angie Brown, Wellmark, who is assisting with the project. A booklet was provided of potential ideas and plans. Council involvement may be requested at a later date. Motion by Sutton and seconded by Sample to approve the Administrative and Board Reports.
