Jeff Weigel appeared to assert that the skate park pad was over-engineered and was too thick at six inches, indicating he feels the thickness is not warranted. The City Administrator responded that the pad was in fact five inches in depth, and that the pad was designed in accord with recommended specifications for skate pads. Presentation: Adrienne Brant James shared with Council that there are funds remaining in a grant received through the South Dakota Community Foundation that may be used toward a project along the Big Sioux River area near Crescent Street. She will report back to Council at a later date. Mayor Bonrud informed Council that beginning July 6th, Council meetings will be held at the William J. Janklow Community Center until further notice; the larger facility will make it easier to comply with social distancing guidelines. Both storm shelters are operational; the new keys issued fit the locks at both locations. City Administrator Jeff Pederson shared that Barr Engineering was in Flandreau last Thursday and Friday to conduct the analysis at the dam that had been delayed due to high water; the complete report of the project should be available in 3-4 months. Skate Park equipment has arrived and will be assembled soon; review is taking place regarding any necessary refurbishing. Signage listing skate park rules has arrived and will be placed soon. The Golf Course analysis study is winding down; one more review by the committee will take place prior to sharing with Council.
