The Senator who will represent District 25 will be decided, not in November, but by the registered Republicans who vote in the June 7 primary. Because no other candidate from the other parties filed, the Republican who has the most votes in the primary will represent the voters of District 25 in January, 2023. I have mentioned in my past articles how to register, and also how to vote absentee, which was available to voters starting April 22. I am 1 of 4 candidates running for the open seat in the Senate in District 25. I served 6 years in the SD House of Representatives from District 8 [2013 to 2018], the last 2 in a leadership role as House Majority Whip. During that time, I was appointed to the Regional Watershed Task Force and the Mental Health summer study legislative committees while serving in the SD Legislature. For almost 40 years I provided dental care to the communities of Flandreau and Dell Rapids. My daughter Kim joined me for the last 7 of those years, then moved to Philip, where she owns a dental clinic. I actively farm about 600 acres with my son Jason and keep busy with many community and church activities. I chaired a committee to build a new library, combining Flandreau city, school, and Moody County entities. I am the Grand Knight of the KC's chapter in our church and serve as a director on the SD Right to Life board. I believe I am an experienced leader that could represent you well in the SD Senate.

Sutton also shared that he has been working with Flandreau Santee Sioux Tribe Attorney General Seth Pearman on ensuring that the Bureau of Indian Affairs grant requirements are met for the Crescent Street bridge. Mayor Sutton informed the Council that the Flandreau Golf Course Task Force will have their second meeting next week. Mayor Sutton also thanked City Administrator Pederson and Assistant City Administrator Turnquist for their willingness to help paint the Aquatic Center and prepare it for opening. City Administrator Pederson shared that the that painting in the lobby of the Aquatic Center was nearly complete. Pederson shared that Western Area Power Administration (WAPA) sent notice that they are planning to raise electric rates beginning in 2023. Pederson also informed the Council that the Department of Revenue denied an appeal by the City to renew an expired liquor license. Assistant City Administrator Turnquist shared that City staff were planning to meet with Eaton this week to do an overview of the Cities progress toward converting existing electric meters to AMI. Turnquist also informed the Council that the Aquatic Center will be opening on May 30, 2022. Assistant City Administrator Turnquist shared that he will be attending the monthly Flandreau Development Corporation meeting on Thursday, May 5, 2022. Turnquist also informed the Council that the City is still actively searching for two Public Works Operator. Turnquist shared that he is working with City staff to continue implementing the new utility billing software through Tyler Technologies. This position will be responsible incumbent verifies and keeps records on incoming and outgoing shipments and prepares items for shipment. Follow organization rates, rules, and regulations. Compiles records concerned with ordering, receiving, storing, issuing, and shipping materials, supplies, and equipment. This position will be responsible for the overall operation of the procurement department
The Inventory Clerk contributes to the success of the company by assisting the Dispensary Manager(s) with reporting, transports and data entry to compare inventories to office records or computes figures from records such as production records, or purchase invoices to obtain current inventory for each division of the company.
Physical Requirements: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hand to finger, handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl; and talk or hear. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 or more pounds and regularly move up to 25 pounds. The noise level in the work environment is normal. Education & Qualifications: • • • •
