EGAN CITY MINUTES REGULAR MEETING April 20, 2022 The Board of Trustees of the City of Egan, South Dakota met in regular session on April 20, 2022 at the Egan City Hall, 110 W 3rd Street, Egan, SD. Present: Board of Trustee members John Steinhauer, Cody Chamblin, Nancy Hansen, and Brad Judstra. Present thru video was Jerome Olson. Also present was Finance Officer Duncan, and Moody County Highway Superintendent Andy Muller.

The meeting was called to order by Steinhauer at 6:00pm.

Visitors to be Heard: None Mayor Sutton informed that the Council that Kendra Eng is planning to submit her resignation to the Zoning Board. Sutton encouraged interested candidates to get into contact and thanked Kendra for her service. Mayor Sutton shared that he has been in contact with stakeholders on the Crescent Street bridge project and offered an update on the planned inspection. The Mayor shared that he has received some feedback on nuisances from citizens that he plans to address with the City Administrator.

City Administrator Pederson shared that he attended the pre-construction conference for the Crescent Street bridge demolition, where the contractor is planning to start demolition in August. Pederson shared those applications have been sent to the state for the previously discussed water and sewer projects. Pederson shared that he, along with Mayor Sutton and Assistant City Administrator Turnquist, will meet with an architect regarding the possibility of contracting with a project manager for the fire station construction project. Pederson shared that he is working to add some improvements to the landscaping surrounding at the storm shelter. Pederson shared that the effort to staff the Aquatic Center is going well and that arrangements for training are being made. Jeff also shared that the Flandreau Municipal Airport has been allocated $100,000 per year for the next five years, if the City is able to show need for it through a capital improvement plan. Pederson shared that a meeting with Helms and Associates brought about the proposal of adding more land to the airport and possible runway expansion.

Assistant City Administrator Turnquist shared that over March 28-29 he attended a housing conference through Dakota Resources. Turnquist also shared that he was planning to attend several upcoming Flandreau Development Corporation meetings. Cohl informed the Council that construction is underway in the airport terminal on the new ceramic flooring.

Brief Summary:

• High school diploma or GED is required. A.A.S. Degree/Diploma in related field preferred.

The Associate Grant Writer is a member of the grant department team, responsible for conducting the full range of activities required to identify, prepare, submit, and manage grant proposals. The Associate Grant Writer will perform prospect research to evaluate prospects for grants. The Associate Grant Writer will work with the senior grant writer finance, and program directors. The Associate Grant Write under the direction of the senior grant write, is responsible to single out and seek funds for existing and future Flandreau Santee Sioux Tribe (FSST) projects.

• Must have a minimum of three (3) years experience in a Supervisory capacity, in a maintenance / plant related posi4on.

QUALIFICATIONS, EDUCATION, AND/OR EXPERIENCE:

Minimum Educa7on, Experience & Qualifica7ons:

• Must be knowledgeable of boilers, compressors, generators, etc. as well as various mechanical, electrical and plumbing systems.

Must communicate effectively with all of the Tribe’s stakeholders; both within and outside of its organization.

• Must be knowledgeable in building codes and safety regula4ons.

• Must be able to liW, push, pull, and move equipment, supplies, etc., in excess of fiWy (50) pounds.

Must be able to operate a computer and use common office software such as Outlook email exchange, Word, Excel, and Adobe Acrobat.

Minimum of two years grant writing or an Associate degree in business, finance, government administration, or other related field is required.

• Must have a valid South Dakota driver’s license.

The Nursing Home Administrator will be responsible for providing five star-rated quality health care, housing and community based services to incapacitated individuals and older genera;ons by helping residents live the lives that most inspire them. This Nursing Home will offer many services including Skilled Nursing, Assisted Living, and Memory Care. The Nursing Home Administrator will oversee daily func;ons of our senior care community and lead staff, build referral rela;onships, and market services. Our ideal candidate has an ac;ve administrator’s license, leadership experience in older adult services and cultural sensi;vity knowledge about Na;ve Americans is highly preferred. We are looking for someone who has a strong commitment to serving older adults, excellent people and financial management skills, and the ability to interface effec;vely with families and residents. This person will also have excellent leadership skills and the ability to mo;vate, and develop employees at all levels at our campus.

Native Nations Dispensary Associate Opens: May 2 2022 Closes: May 16 2022 Job Description: The Dispensing Associate is responsible for fulfilling orders behind the retail counter and issuing pre- packaged products that have been purchased to customers. The Dispensing Associate must have a complete understanding of the use and side effects of our products. Dispensing Associate will be given the task of preparing, dispensing, distributing, and administering cannabis-based products under the direct supervision of the Dispensary Lead, Supervisor or Manager.
