SORNA Registry Coordinator (SORC) Opens: March 8, 2021

Job Description: The SORC, under the direction of the Chief of Police, will be tasked with enforcing the tribal Sex Offender Registry Ordinance. This includes registering and tracking offenders; and reporting noncompliance to the Tribal Prosecutor. The SORC provides notice to the community of registerable offenders living, working, and attending school on the reservation. The SORC will draft and implement policies, forms, and code recommendations to implement best practices related to sex offender registries.

The SORC ensures that the Flandreau Santee Sioux Tribe remains in substantial compliance with the Sex Offender Registry Notification Act (SORNA). The SORC engages in community outreach to educate the community about SORO and how to prevent sex offenses from occurring. The SORC will also be tasked with implementing the Tribal Access Program (TAP), a program offered to tribes by the U.S. Department of Justice that allows access and uploading to some federal information databases. The SORC will be the Tribe’s point of contact with the U.S. Department of Justice and in-house for departments with any issues related to the TAP workstation. The SORC will provide access to the TAP workstation to authorized tribal employees and applicants. The SORC will ensure compliance with all tribal policies related to TAP.

Full-time Phlebotomist or Medical Assistant position. Certification preferred. Normal hours are 9:00 am until 5:30 pm, with rotation of weekends & holidays.

Part-time Home Health & Hospice Aide. Position to include in-home personal care and homemaker duties.

Hours will include normal day time hours.

Full-time Respiratory Therapist (RT) position. Hours will include days and rotation of weekends, holidays and on call. Must have valid South Dakota RT license. Must be Registered or Registry Eligible.

Full-time Labor and Delivery Nurse for growing OB department. This is a full-time position. Applicant must be a Registered Nurse with labor and delivery experience.

Full-time or Part-time Nurse Assistant position in a hospital setting. Nurse Assistant shifts will involve day, night, weekend, and holiday rotation. 4 hour, 8 hour, and 12 hour shifts available.

Full-time or Part-time Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) positions are available in a hospital setting for Medical, Surgical and ER areas. 4 hour, 8 hour or 12 hour shifts which includes nights, holidays and every third weekend.

Occupational Therapist or Occupational Therapy Assistant. PRN hours. Requirements for this position are a valid South Dakota license; and an Associate or Doctorate degree. Must be a self-starter with knowledge of birth to geriatric treatments in a hospital and outpatient setting.
