The school liaison will serve as a mentor advising students in college/career preparation, academic support and holistic wellness.

Minimum Qualifications: • Must be a high school graduate. Must have completed a minimum of two (2) years of college in Education, Social Work, Family Studies, Child Development or closely related field highly preferred. A combination of education and experience may be considered.

• Must have administrative experience with coordinating, planning, organizing and implementing meetings and programs for a diverse audience.

• Must have proficient computer skills with the ability to maintain computer records and data.

• Must have experience in preparing written reports.

• Must be able to work occasional evening and weekends.

Assistant Attorney The Flandreau Santee Sioux Tribe (the “Tribe”), located in Flandreau, South Dakota, is seeking applicants for the full-time position of Assistant Tribal Attorney. The attorney, under the direction of the Tribal Attorney, will be tasked with the responsibility of prosecuting the Tribe’s Law and Order Code, and will work closely with Tribal Police and other local state and federal agencies to fulfill the position’s obligations. The attorney will also assist the Tribal Attorney with assigned matters regarding the representation of the Tribe, its Health Clinic, its tribally owned businesses, and the Royal River Casino and Hotel.

Must become proficient in the utilization of blood quantum charts to determine Tribal membership and degree of Indian blood.

POSITION SUMMARY: The Clerk of Courts position is multi-focused requiring a wide range of responsibilities key to the court system. The employee will fulfill Court Administrator and Magistrate job duties. The employee serves as Clerk of civil, criminal, juvenile, traffic, small claims, and appellate courts. Receptionist, secretarial, legal assistant, and public relation duties are also requirements of this position. In brief, this employee greets all visitors and handles all incoming correspondence and telephone calls. Is responsible for budgets, record keeping, report writing, drafting pleadings, docketing cases, processing and filing all civil, criminal, juvenile, traffic, small claims, and appeal actions filed with Tribal Court. The Clerk of Courts is responsible for the scheduling of hearings, preparing and maintaining court calendars and notification of all parties in all civil, criminal, juvenile, traffic, small claims, and appeal actions. This position performs Court Magistrate duties, prepares and distributes child support payments to agencies or individuals on a monthly basis. Responsible for issuing various tribal licenses, collecting fees and fines ordered by the Court.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE: Must have a high school diploma, paralegal training, or experience preferred. A minimum of two (2) years prior secretarial experience. Knowledge of legal terminology. Knowledge of typewriter keyboards. Must be able to type 50-70 wpm. Must know English grammar, spelling, and punctuation in order to correct obvious errors in material being typed.

Computer skills required, specifically proficient in Microsoft Windows products. Knowledge of fax and copy machine operation and troubleshooting. Prior administrative experience preferred. Must be physically and mentally able to carry out the demanding duties of the office. Must be a Notary Public licensed in the State of South Dakota or able to obtain a license.
