The City Administrator informed Council that SDN Communications will be installing fiber optic cable underground along the east side of Crescent Street from 1st Avenue to the Flandreau Indian School. The BIA has completed an environmental assessment for the Broad Avenue Realignment project and has determined that the proposed activities will not cause significant impacts to the human environment. The streetlight at the corner of 2nd Avenue and Crescent Street is being tested with a LED light. A legislative cracker-barrel is scheduled for Saturday, February 6th, at 9:30 a.m. at the Crystal Theatre. The registration deadline for the SDML Rib Dinner with Your Legislators is tomorrow. Candidates were interviewed last week for the vacant police officer position. We expect to have someone hired by the next council meeting. Motion by Pesall and seconded by Smith to approve the Administrative Reports. The following members voted aye: Bjerke, Pesall, Sample, Smith, and Sutton. Nays: None. Absent: Tufty. Motion carried.
