Mayor Sutton informed Council he feels 2021 was a good year for the City. He would like to review Capital Improvement Projects again at the beginning of this year for possible future projects. He also shared that there have been some recent changes in business ownership in Flandreau that will be made public soon.

City Administrator Pederson shared that the recently approved Solid Waste Agreement is in the process of being signed; he feels the fee assessed to residents on their utility bill may need to be increased due to the higher fee charged to the City for solid waste and recyclable collection. After a brief discussion, it was determined a resolution should be presented at the next Council meeting to set a new fee for residential charges. Work continues on the Fire Station loan application for funding. He informed Council that the existing Sales Tax Revenue Bond will need to be paid off approximately two years prior to maturity in 2025 in order to fund future loan payments for the new Fire Station.
