Summary: This fulltime position is located at The Flandreau Santee Sioux Tribal Health Clinic in Flandreau, SD. The purpose of this position is to work in a hybrid (paper/electronic) medical record environment, alternating between abstracting and coding pertinent outpatient medical data from the Electronic Health Record (EHR/EMR) into the Resource Patient Management billing system and analyzing medical data entered by the clinician in the Electronic Health Record (EHR). The Mayor informed Council of the recent placement of the Governor Janklow plaque at the Community Center/Armory. He indicated the airport fly-in held recently at the Flandreau Municipal Airport was extremely successful with roughly 50 planes that flew in for the event and the Team of Angels served nearly 400 meals.

The City Administrator informed Council that we have been notified

by Rural Development that the City has been approved for the additional $480,000 for the wastewater portion of the line replacement project. The contractor, however, has indicated that he probably will not get to that section of water and wastewater line replacements this year. This will become a 2018 project. At the last progress meeting held on July 12th, the contractor indicated that the current project is running nearly on schedule. At the next Council meeting there will be a CDBG progress public hearing and Dave Burwitz of Clark Engineering would like to attend to give Council an update on the water and wastewater project. Work is almost complete on Crescent Street in front of Maynard’s as well as the storm drain on the corner of 2nd Avenue and Crescent Street. Dave Ahlers visited with Mike Fargen about replacing the concrete around the old dentist office building on the corner of 2nd Avenue and Crescent Street and asked if the City would replace the curb and gutter which we agreed to do. The Flandreau Development Corporation has gifted land in the industrial park to two new businesses. A contractor for AT&T is adding and replacing antennae at the west water tower to enhance their cellular service. The first curbside recycling took place on July 12th. We are still taking names and addresses of those residents who would like to participate.

The next curbside pickup is scheduled for July 26th; future curbside pickup will be the second and fourth Wednesday of each month.

August 1st is National Night Out and the Flandreau Police Department is preparing to hold the event at the shelter by the Aquatic Center where hot dogs will be grilled.

Old Business: Second reading of Ordinance 579, Amending Title 10 Cemetery, was conducted. Following a lengthy discussion with Mike Skroch, Anna Duncan and Mike Fargen regarding cemetery lot abandonment, a motion was made by Pesall and seconded by Smith to table Ordinance 579 until the next meeting. City Attorney Paul Lewis will rework that section of the proposed Ordinance. The following members voted aye: Bjerke, Pesall, Sample, Smith, Sutton, and Tufty. Nays: None. Absent: None. UNAPPROVED MINUTES OF JULY 18, 2017 The Moody County Commissioners met in regular session on Tuesday, July 18, 2017 in the County Commissioners' Room in the Courthouse at 9:00 AM, with the following members present: Chairman Jerry Doyle, Rick Veldkamp, Tom Ehrichs, Dan Miles, and Carla Bruning, with Kristina Krull Auditor as Clerk of the Board.

Linette Christensen, Treasurer met with the board to review County finances.

Troy Wellman, Sheriff met with the Board to discuss The National Sheriff’s Association.

UNAPPROVED MINUTES OF JULY 26, 2017 The Moody County Commissioners met in special session on Wednesday, July 26, 2017 in the County Commissioners’ Room in the Courthouse at 8:30 AM, with the following members present: Chairman Jerry Doyle, Rick Veldkamp, Tom Ehrichs, Dan Miles, and Carla Bruning with Kristina Krull, Auditor as Clerk of the Board. Also present Marty Skroch, Commission Assistant.

Chairman Doyle called the meeting to order.

Motion by Miles, seconded by Veldkamp to approve the agenda. All voted “aye”.

Discussion was held on the 2018 Provisional Budget. The Board will make any final adjustments to the Provisional Budget on August 1, 2017.

Motion by Veldkamp, seconded by Ehrichs to adjourn the meeting at 12:06 PM. All voted “aye”.
